POPSSeymour Hersh: Cheney considered killing Americans in pretext to attack Iran During the journalism conference event, I asked Hersh specifically about this meeting and if he could elaborate on what occurred. Hersh explained that, during the meeting in Cheney’s office, an idea was considered to dress up Navy Seals as Iranians, put them on fake Iranian speedboats, and shoot at them. This idea, intended to provoke an Iran war, was ultimately rejected.

POPSHersh: Cheney meeting discusses ways to provoke Iran to war "why don’t we build—we, in our shipyard—build four or five boats that look like Iranian PT boats, put Navy Seals on them with a lot of arms, and, the next time one of our boats goes through the Straits of Hormuz, start a shoot-up" Who are the bad guys here?

POPS"Put a Kibosh to this Insane Plan" Ominously, these “ideas” hark back to Operation Northwoods, the JSC plan to stage a false flag terror event — or a number of events — designed to provide a pretext to invade Cuba and take out Fidel Castro. Such “ideas” included “friendly Cubans” attacking the U.S. base at Guantanamo, shooting down a drone disguised as a chartered civil airliner and blaming it on Cuba, inciting riots and staging terror attacks in Miami, and other terrorist acts. Fortunately, then Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, put a kibosh to this insane plan. More recently, in January, 2003, in the lead-up to the Iraq invasion George Bush and Tony Blair discussed painting planes in United Nations colors “in order to provoke an attack which could then be used to justify material breach” and thus set in motion an invasion, according to Philippe Sands, a leading British human rights lawyer.

POPSIran to Israel: "Go Ahead, Make My Day" Attack our facilities and war starts. US Admiral (a stand-in Liar who replaced the resisting and valiant Admiral Fallon, who called Gen Petreus a "chickensh*t" for kissing up to Bush) then lies saying Iran will attack Israel...while Iran has attacked no other country in over 200 years while Israel and the US have attacked many. Listen to this Democracy Now podcast with Seymour Hersh (NY Times) about how Israel cannot attack Iran without US involvement (i.e. American troops on the ground necessary for such operation, dying for Israeli aggression).

POPSU.S. Covert Operations Against Iran Increasing the war already started. Geopolitical news that will lead to higher oil prices in trading. Note this open statement here in even the MSM: U.S. Special Operations Forces have been conducting crossborder operations from southern Iraq since last year Now how would the US or any country react if foreigners were invading your country and committing covert acts of espionage and proxy warfare by stealth? You would consider it an act of war, wouldn't you? This is proof of how much the US is doing to provoke Iran into war, and how much restraint Iran has actually had.

POPSUS Escalating Covert Ops Against Iran Here's the part that gets me: Among groups inside Iran benefiting from U.S. support is the Jundallah, also known as the Iranian People's Resistance Movement, according to former CIA officer Robert Baer. Council on Foreign Relations analyst Vali Nasr described it to Hersh as a vicious organization suspected of links to al Qaeda. We killed Hussein over imagined links to al Qaeda -- now we're one step removed from funding them.

POPSUS General Accuses Bush Admin of War Crimes 2-Star Army General indicts about Abu Ghraib that the White House "authorized" it: the Commander-in-Chief and those under him authorized a systematic regime of torture. Alot of things have come down on the Bush administration in the last month, i.e. McClellan's book, Bugliosi's book, now this.

POPSWill Obama Make A Difference Where it Counts? I was reluctant to clip this piece because, in a sense, it is not really fair to pin this attitude squarely on the shoulders of Senator Obama, since every other candidate for president expresses a similar point-of-view. But I am concerned overall, that our basic policy towards Israel is unquestioning loyalty and support of a financial, political and military kind. While I do support Israel's right to exist in peace with its neighbours, I do not believe that everything Israel does is fine, and that their actions against the Palestinians are at times brutal and unfeeling. It does not seem to me that the U.S. can be considered a legitimate, unbiased participant in peace talks, if at the same time they are pouring millions of dollars into Israel's military as well as its ability to continue its occupation of the Palestinians. AIPAC has far too much influence on American politicians as does not speak for the majority of U.S. Jews.

POPSRemember Seymour, The Liar? Time proves what was obvious in February. Hersh = the neurotic, the poor guy who has to make up fantasies on faint whispers and rumors spread by haters.

POPSRemember the Honest General & his Report, Gone
"Having male detainees pose nude while female guards pointed at their genitals; having female detainees exposing themselves to the guards; having detainees perform indecent acts with each other; and guards physically assaulting detainees by beating and dragging them with choker chains." Asked specifically when he had been made aware of the photographs, Rumsfeld said: "There were rumors of photographs in a criminal prosecution chain back sometime after January 13th . . . I don’t remember precisely when, but sometime in that period of Jan Feb, Mar . . The legal part of it was proceeding along fine. What wasn’t proceeding along fine is the fact that the President didn’t know, and you didn’t know, and I didn’t know. “And, as a result, somebody just sent a secret report to the press, and there they are,” Rumsfeld said." "CIA has advised that the techniques the military forces are using to interrogate high value detainees .. are more aggressive than the techniques used by CIA who is [

POPSSeymour Hersh-Credible? NOT MORE-------------<<<<<<<The Iranian regimes apparent nuclear ambitions and its demonstrated support for terrorist organizations is a global challenge that deserves much more serious treatment than Seymour Hersh provides in the New Yorker article titled The Coming Wars.--------->>>>>>>>>> ---- What on earth can possibly be the value of a guy like this who plays a role of sullen agitator by arriving on the scene every couple years with the illusion of being an exposer of truth because the idiot left has bought his shtick ?

POPSHERSH - Truth on IRAN. Bush LIES & God. Hersh "The real thing in the mind of this president is he wants to reshape the Middle East and make it a model. He absolutely believes it. I always thought Henry Kissinger was a disaster because he lies like most people breathe and you can't have that in public life. But if it were Kissinger this time around, I'd actually be relieved because I'd know that the madness would be tied to some oil deal. But in this case, what you see is what you get. This guy believes he's doing God's work." Hersh: "There are two very clear options: Option A) Get everybody out by midnight tonight. Option B) Get everybody out by midnight tomorrow. The fuel that keeps the war going is us."

POPSPolitican Cartoons "The United States, some years back, found its new bogeyman "Islam" to replace its former imaginary enemy "Communism." And now the European press appears to have finally (?) found a replacement for the Jewish people that they used to malign and attack. Anti-Islam/Muslimism appears to now have officially replaced anti-Jewish sentiments in Europe. The roots of these attacks are the same: an inability to acknowledge and respect a diversity of people that might result in a Europe that is non-White and/or non-Christian. The anti-Muslim/Islam cartoons of today are little different than the anti-Jewish cartoons that were published by the Nazis during WW II."

POPSBush is Planning Nuclear Strikes Against Iran's Secret Sites Hersh claims that one of the plans, presented to the White House by the Pentagon, entails the use of a bunker-buster tactical nuclear weapon, such as the B61-11, against underground nuclear sites. One alleged target is Iran's main centrifuge plant, at Natanz, 200 miles south of Teheran. This newspaper disclosed recently that senior Pentagon strategists are updating plans to strike Iran's nuclear sites with long-distance B2 bombers and submarine-launched missiles. And last week, the Sunday Telegraph reported a secret meeting at the Ministry of Defence where military chiefs and officials from Downing Street and the Foreign Office discussed the consequences of an American-led attack on Iran, and Britain's role in any such action. The military option is opposed by London and other European capitals.

POPSwhat happened to General Taguba who investigated Abu Ghraib
Still from the article: "In January of 2006, Taguba received a telephone call from General Richard Cody, the Army’s Vice-Chief of Staff. “This is your Vice,” he told Taguba. “I need you to retire by January of 2007.” “They always shoot the messenger,” Taguba told me. “To be accused of being overzealous and disloyal—that cuts deep into me. I was being ostracized for doing what I was asked to do.” Taguba went on, “There was no doubt in my mind that this stuff”—the explicit images—“was gravitating upward. It was standard operating procedure to assume that this had to go higher. The President had to be aware of this.” He said that Rumsfeld, his senior aides, and the high-ranking generals and admirals who stood with him as he misrepresented what he knew about Abu Ghraib had failed the nation. “From the moment a soldier enlists, we inculcate loyalty, duty, honor, integrity, and selfless service,” Taguba said. “And yet when we get to the senior-officer level we forget those values.

POPSSM Hersh: Remember, The Coming Wars, Now IRAN
Bush and national-security advisers have consolidated control over the military and intelligence communities’ strategic analyses and covert operations to a degree unmatched since the rise of the post-WW2 national-security state. He has an aggressive, ambitious agenda for using that control-against Iran and against targets in the ongoing war on terrorism The CIA will continue to be downgraded and increasingly serve as one government consultant with close ties to the Pentagon put it, as “facilitators” of policy. The war on terrorism would be expanded and effectively placed under the Pentagon’s control. Bush has signed a series of findings and executive orders authorizing secret commando groups and other Special Forces units to conduct covert operations against suspected terrorist targets in as many as 10 nations. “The neocons say negotiations are a bad deal,” a senior official of the IAEA. “And the only thing the Iranians understand is pressure. And that they also need to be wh
