This really should not come as any surprise to the thinking adult who understands the evils of the world. I mean teens talk sex to each other in classrooms and garages and any other place where they feel safe from parental oversight. With the advent of the computer age and INTERNET messaging services, this sex talk took to international levels. Teens looking for someone who will listen and not judge them could not log on to the world and find someone somewhere who will understand them. Now with texting capabilities on cell phones the web has become portable. Where once parents could control their child's access to the Internet by monitoring their on line time now they must monitor their cell phone use. POPSEleven-year-old girl charged with rape Hinkle said her office investigates about 10 to 15 cases a month where a young person is the perpetrator of a sex abuse. The crimes range from rape, gross sexual imposition, sexual imposition, pornography and even "sexting" - forwarding lewd images on cell phones. Ritchason has also been investigating a 13-year-old boy who was charged with one count of rape. "I think people need to understand the charge of rape means any type of penetration there is during the act, no matter how slight," Ritchason said. "It doesn't necessarily mean a suspect has someone tied down or beats them and then rapes them. A person under the age of 18 doesn't have to be forced, either."

POPSParents fight child porn threats against 'sexting' teens This is going to lead to a more concise definition of pornography as opposed to 'risque' photography. Is it right to label a thirteen year old a kiddie pornographer based on a photograph in which no sex act is involved? Would you care more if your own child was involved?

POPSSexting latest trend amongst teens. I could never understand why a teenager needed a cell phone to begin with, let alone one with all kinds of bells and whistles. My own personal cell phone does not take pictures nor am I able to send and receive text messages or images. I find there is absolutely no need to do any of that from a PHONE. Our society is awash in excess. Over kill in many respects, What once was a LUXURY now seems to be a necessity in some peoples minds. I can understand the sense of security one can feel by being able to contact a son or daughter at anytime via the cell phone but WHY ON EARTH do they need one with every available option not to mention the COST of it all. Wouldn't a simple cell phone that sends and receives calls be ENOUGH? Must our children need to be able to send text and pictures on a PHONE? Take it away from them parents and act like the adults you are supposed to be.
