POPS2008 San Francisco Civil Grand Jury Report On Homelessness Just Released This excerpt comes from http://www.bluoz.com/blog/index.php?url=archives/413-Civil-Grand-Jury-Report-on-Homelessness.html&serendipity =true#feedback Which is a website run by JEFF a very sane and cool SF Tenant of a crime ridden SRO (Single Room Occupancy Hotel Room) supposedly with in-house supportive services - managed by a non-profit/for profit group called Tenderloin Housing Clinic owned or directed by a lawyer or attorney named Randy Shaw. What the City of San Francisco (like the City of New York) has 'kept hidden' by sweeping their homeless into SRO's has just been blown out the door by this well done, fact based Civil Grand Jury Report. Goes to show you. Whenever a community fails to meet the needs of their entire community, including their elderly, poor, sick, disabled and homeless by NOT giving them good care with proper standards and accountabilty.

POPSLucius Annaeus Seneca: Divi Claudii Apocolocyntosis (The Pumpkinification of the Divine Claudius) Vicifons I wish to place on record the proceedings in heaven October 13 last, of the new year which begins this auspicious age. It shall be done without malice or favour. This is the truth. To begin with, I am not bound to please you with my answer. Who will compel me? I know the same day made me free, which was the last day for him who made the proverb true--One must be born either a Pharaoh or a fool. Who has ever made the historian produce witness to swear for him? But if an authority must be produced, ask of the man who saw Drusilla translated to heaven: the same man will aver he saw Claudius on the road, dot and carry one. Will he nill he, all that happens in heaven he needs must see. He is the custodian of the Appian Way . Question him, he will tell you the tale when you are alone . What he told me I report plain and clear . Source

POPSSeneca: Papulas observatis alienas, obsiti plurimis ulceribus There are people who are critical of some small fault in others (a pimple) while seeming to be oblivious to enormous faults of their own (innumerable ulcers). Probably the most famous example of this type of saying is the famous passage in the Gospels, as here in Matthew: Quid autem vides festucam in oculo fratris tui et trabem in oculo tuo non vides? Aut quomodo dicis fratri tuo "sine; eiciam festucam de oculo tuo" et ecce trabis est in oculo tuo? Hypocrita! eice primum trabem de oculo tuo et tunc videbis eicere festucam de oculo fratris tui. And why seest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye; and seest not the beam that is in thy own eye? Or how sayest thou to thy brother: Let me cast the mote out of thy eye; and behold a beam is in thy own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thy own eye, and then shalt thou see to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
