POPSEnsign back in D.C.; group plans ethics complaint In yet another blow against ethics, Republican Sen. John Ensign returned to the capital today to handshakes from colleagues. What does this say of his colleagues? Do they condone his behavior? Senator John Ensign called for Bill Clinton and Larry Craig to resign over sexual misconduct, and then cheated on his wife with a married staffer. This "defender of marriage" should have the dignity to resign now. But dignity is in short supply in politics. Therefore, it is business as usual in the nations capital. Does his affair mean we cannot trust him to speak for his constituents? If nothing else, it lessens his authority on ethics issues but we already know that any talk of ethics reform from politicians is nothing more than hot air. If you cannot live up to the vows you make to your spouse in front of God then how can you be trusted to live up to your promises to the people who put you in office? The 'ole boys club' ethics wins again.

POPSSen. Shelby on Obama: 'I Haven't Seen Any Birth Certificate' Apparently, the only reason Sen. Richard Shelby hasn't seen Obama's birth certificate is because someone hasn't grabbed him by the back of his empty head and forced him to look at it . It's been all over online for months and months now. Hey Alabama, you're represented by the biggest goddam gullible fool in the entire Senate -- and not just because Larry Craig is gone.

POPSLarry Craig's Denials Continue to Be Denied The louder he claims about his being straight to the core, the more men come out and report having had sexual encounters with him. Larry Craig just doesn't get it, does he? He really seems to believe that his denials, no matter how clear the evidence, that he is not gay, will obscure all allegations of his practices in private. As I have said in the past, I do not believe in entrapment, and I am not please with the way the police proceeded with his case, however, his constant lying does not help his cause, and it only, once again, shows how much self-loathing he possesses.

POPSHall of Shame? What's wrong with this picture? And don't get me wrong. I don't care what Craig's sexual orientation happens to be. What should be of concern to all people is the enormous hypocrisy that he and others in politics have exhibited.

POPSLouisiana GOP State Senator has "A Wide Stance" - Larry Craig Alert More: "The report states that DiFatta watched a man use the bathroom while peering through a hole in a bathroom stall. The man held DiFatta until police arrived, at which time he was issued the misdemeanor summons and ordered to appear in court. In the second incident, Jefferson Parish deputies working an undercover detail in a men's bathroom at Dillard's at Lakeside Shopping Center in March 2000 stopped DiFatta after he indicated a desire to engage in sex with an undercover deputy in an adjoining bathroom stall, according to an interoffice memorandum written by Sgt. Keith Conley, one of the deputies involved in the investigation.

POPSLarry Craig Breaks His Promise and Refuses to Resign His Senate Seat First he's guilty then he's not. He announces he's gonna quit and then he stays. The Republicans in the Senate are having apoplexy over this guy, who they thought they would be well rid of at the end of September, but he has decided to stay out the full his remaining term. So, now the Republicans have another worry on their plate for next year's elections, which is shaping up to be a nightmare for their party. Several high profile senators and congresspersons are not going to run for another term. There are scandals being investigated, and now Senator Craig says he is gonna stay and keep his sordid story on the front burner right through to November 08. It couldn't happen to a nicer group of pols.
