If your step-daughter is watching TV, don't rape her. If you break into a house and find a woman there, don't rape her. If your friend thinks it's okay to rape someone, tell him it's not, and that he's not your friend. If your "friend" tells you he raped someone, report him to the police. If your frat-brother or another guy at the party tells you there's an unconscious woman upstairs and it's your turn, don't rape her, call the police and tell the guy he's a rapist. Tell your sons, god-sons, nephews, grandsons, sons of friends it's not okay to rape someone. Don't tell your women friends how to be safe and avoid rape. Don't imply that she could have avoided it if she'd only done/not done x. Don't imply that it's in any way her fault. Don't let silence imply agreement when someone tells you he "got some" with the drunk girl.

POPSSomething's Wrong Murder is wrong. The taking of another life, except in self-defense, is wrong. So is the politicizing of events like this. Notice that almost no coverage is given to the other man killed in this incident. Is his life worth less than the "Sign Guys" life? It seems that the alleged killer held a grudge against 3 men in this small town. The police caught him before he was able to harm the 3rd man. For this we should be thankful to the law enforcement officers and the high school students who witnessed the 1st killing and took down the license plate number of his car. Extreme actions, on both sides, always engender extreme responses. It would do us a world of good to learn to take a breath and approach these issues with our brains instead of our clubs.

Aren’t what these guys were charged with federal offenses? These thugs were allowed to get away with threatening voters at polling stations and hate crimes. The acting Assistant Atty General for civil rights Loretta King, a career senior executive service official named by President Obama to temporarily fill the position, ordered a delay after a meeting between political appointees and career supervisors. POPS'Joystick' Warfare Brings Ethics Debate--UAVs and Other Robotic Weapons Robo-warfare is making it too easy to wage arbitrary war, and is by historical standards cowardly , usually entailing overkill to achieve a limited target (like swatting mosquitos with hand grenades. Can you say "collateral damage"?). To bring no risk to warfare is to undermine the principle of Just War, where people voluntarily enter into war upon principles of justice (self defense), and risk their own lives bravely and willingly. Sending robots risks nothing, and makes unjust war a no-risk situation, and therefore too easy to begin. Also there is the danger factor where human judgment may be lacking instead of a programmed response, without the ability to correct or withdraw destructive actions. Ask the civilians in Afghanistan or Pakistan what they think of drone (Predator) UAV bombing flights so far. More civilians have been killed than 'terrorists".
