POPSBrown's treachery
Twelve years I have been writing this. Personal experience means nothing to a government that is wholly interested in self preservation, greed and envy. Had the military the courage of the troopie, the Brass would have stuffed Health & Safety up the politicos arsehole. All too often we are witnessing the legacy of politicians enforcing political correctness on a way of life that not a one has the faintest clue about. Only recently I have witnessed young officers doing a single tour of the battle zones, to come home and resign, yet The Brass does nothing. What have these honourable and courageous young people witnessed that has marked them so badly? Every piece of video news from The Front fills me with anger as I witness my life’s work being destroyed with the needless waste of all these young lives. Young Brits who ought to have gaining from my generations knowledge, but they have not. Whilst I salute the valour and contribution of the women on the front line, I cannot help bu

POPSMachu Picchu, Peru Whatever its origins, the Inca turned the site into a small (5 square miles) but extraordinary city. Invisible from below and completely self-contained, surrounded by agricultural terraces sufficient to feed the population, and watered by natural springs, Machu Picchu seems to have been utilized by the Inca as a secret ceremonial city. Two thousand feet above the rumbling Urubamba river, the cloud shrouded ruins have palaces, baths, temples, storage rooms and some 150 houses, all in a remarkable state of preservation. These structures, carved from the gray granite of the mountain top are wonders of both architectural and aesthetic genius. Many of the building blocks weigh 50 tons or more yet are so precisely sculpted and fitted together with such exactitude that the mortarless joints will not permit the insertion of even a thin knife blade. Little is known of the social or religious use of the site during Inca times.

POPSBig Media Bails on Torture The U.S. media has steered clear in leading a discussion about the moral ramifications of torture, instead asking whether the practices were effective in gaining information from detainees. The U.S. media routinely reports on conflicts without telling us anything of substance about the real issues at the root of the controversy, as evidenced by the media’s response to the release of the Abu Ghraib torture photos. Much of the reporting focused on the photos themselves and the situation of their release, instead of on the acts that the photos documented. Big media has gone soft. It went soft on Bush and it is soft on Obama. Where do their loyalties lie? To advertisers who prove the almighty dollar that keeps them in business. They don't give a crap about the general public losing their constitutional rights, they don't give a damn about how our people are being bled dry by Corporafascist, they only care about having the 'exclusive' on it.

POPS TEXAS STATE CONSTITUTION
The ugliest (once again, by ongoing reliability in this regard) to lapse into sheer irrationality about Perry’s statement was from every-ugly, ever-irrational Geraldo Rivera on Fox’s HANNITY show last evening. On that broadcast, Rivera immediately lapsed into his spitting-yelling and into his “Latin” ethnic-supremacy threats: “…all the Latin people there (in Texas) who are going to be the majority soon aren’t going to like this” with that as an implication by Rivera of socio-poltiical threat of force or harms be upon Texas (”or else”), or, rather be upon all Texans who are not “Latins” to use Rivera’s ugly and irrational language. Note that no one, prior to the remarks by Rivera, at any time ever — ever — made any references to anything ethnic nor racial except that Rivera started screaming denouncements of such, the Leftwing “straw man” method to denounce the “outrage” about accusations that have never been made by anyone else inorder to assert or assertively introduce

POPS Mummified Japanese Monks Enlightened Through Punishment FTA:The first part of the process involved a change of diet; a 1000-day period in which the priest ate only nuts and seeds that could be gathered in the forest surrounding his temple. Physical hardship was deliberately imposed with the goal of reducing the body fat to nearly nothing, allowing for easy decomposition. Believe it or not, the second 1,000-day stage was even more restrictive. Now the priest could only eat bark and roots from pine trees, a process insured to turn any human being into a walking skeleton and to decrease the amount of body fluids, making preservation even easier. Then the priest had to ingest a poisonous tea which further reduced body fluids and killed any maggots or insects that tried to eat the priest’s remains after death, (not to mention the priest). POPSIs Health Care a Right? It is not merely the right to act--to seek medical care and engage in exchanges with providers, free from third-party interference. It is a right to actual care, regardless of whether one can pay for it.

POPSBirds do it, Bees do it, but humans don't! Of course, we should teach our teenage children good judgement, if that is at all possible when it comes to the powerful instinctual urges belonging to all life, the drive to BEGET. Try telling a teeny bobber about love and responsibility. They'll look at you, the same way you look at a dog chasing its tail, bewilderment of such a stupidity lag. But, for most parents, the teen "eye roll" just slides off their back, down to the floor where it can be easily stepped on. But all sarcasm aside, teaching this program alone is not just block-headed, its outrageously dangerous. By not equipping our young with knowledge on self preservation, we neglect the most basic fact of life, the instinctive teachings of fundamental survival techniques. Go and watch some wild life with their young and you will see such training. Birds do it, Bees do it, even Monkeys in the trees do it. Also on http://thinkingblue.blogspot.com

POPSRobot controlled by own biological brain They used rat neurones. Maybe we'll discover what rats have been thinking, or how the nature of thinking varies from species to species, if and what significant 'character' differences there are. We may even find rats have the potential to be much smarter than we thought they were. The neurons act in response to stimuli. Maybe the best way to describe them is 'curious' It can be fairly certain there will be no official testing with human neurones, but there will be testing. I also wonder if the instinct for self preservation goes that deep - Sounds like the kind of thing that would interest the military.

POPSCatholic Candid Camera Snares a Helpful Father I give this lecherous priest an A for effort and originality. Claiming that he was on camera, seducing a young boy for sexual purposes, was merely his way of learning more about homosexual behaviour is a valiant effort at self preservation. But a lie is a lie is a damned lie. The Catholic church, with its demands for celibacy is a breeding ground for frustrated, gay and straight men, who need to find some manner of satisfying their normal, human, sexual needs.

POPSTemperance The virtue of kindness makes humans want to help their fellow humans, especially those in need. A common view is that the best form of kindness is charity. Charity is the sharing of material wealth with the needy. But throughout history the greatest improvements in human well-being have come not from charity but from justice and knowledge. Humanity's surplus of injustice, superstition, and ignorance is a far bigger problem than its deficit of charity.
