POPSNancy Pelosi vs. Rush Limbaugh Compare the inept inactivity of Nancy Pelosi on this gas crisis with the informed activity of conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Rush is politically savvy; Pelosi is politically cunning. Rush confronts government gridlock; Pelosi creates it. Rush gives solutions; Pelosi ground-n-pounds them. Rush says to drill here and drill now; Pelosi says not to drill now or later. Rush motivates Americans to action; Pelosi paralyzes the House to inaction. I would bet Rush has had more positive influence on Congress through the years by his broadcasts than Pelosi ever will from her House throne. He is a leader among that league of extraordinary gentlemen and conservative cultural crusaders -- such as Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Dick Morris, Newt Gingrich, Ann Coulter, John Kasich and Frank Pastore, to name a few. I pray that we ultimately inspire a new generation of patriots with a fire like Patrick Henry had rather than what Nancy Pelosi has.

POPSConservatives At Odds With McCain But perhaps more importantly, he has long been an advocate of entitlement reform. He was early an ardent support of personal accounts for Social Security, and has pushed for serious Medicare reform, including means-testing. Almost alone among Republicans, he opposed the disastrous Medicare prescription drug benefit. "On domestic policy, he has shown a disturbing predilection for elevating every personal pet peeve, from steroids in baseball to airplane service quality, to a federal issue. And, he has embraced heavily regulatory environmental policies and compulsory national service. Like George W. Bush, he tends to support federal power over federalism, executive authority over legislative, and generally leans toward the imperial presidency. For believers in individual liberty and limited government, it's a decidedly mixed bag. But, then again, aren't they all?"

POPSHate Limbaugh or Limbaugh's hate! Dangerous or Laughable? (I chose both but the former rather than the latter is more direct... One Dangerous Dude!) ~~~~~~~ It was no surprise that Limbaugh would call for riots at the Democratic National Convention in Denver to embarrass the Democrats. Limbaugh -- and his fellow purveyors of hate on the airwaves -- are dangerous demagogues whom pro-democracy Americans too easily dismiss as poltroonish shills for the entrenched powers. It's a regular staple of the millionaire right-wing echo chamber to use the explicit or implicit language of violence. In fact, the entire "frame" of everyone from Sean Hannity to Bill O'Reilly to Rush Limbaugh is to convince their listeners that people who don't agree with these "pundits of patriotism" are the enemy and dangerous to America. POPSFlag Pin Festish The flag fetish strikes me as a case of Protesting Too Much. If you’re confident in your possession of something, you don’t have to wear it on your sleeve, your gable, your bumper, or your T-shirt. In fact, the latter used to be considered disrespectful, a kind of desecration. Americans live surrounded by other Americans; there’s no need for a show of defiance. We’re not like the English and the French, who fought one another for centuries, still have cultural misunderstandings, and can see each other’s countries on a clear day. So why this bravado, even insecurity, which I think must lie beneath gratuitious, context-free displays of patriotic devotion

POPSObserving Rudy G. Rudolph Giuliani cleverly understands that the best way to appeal to the Republican base is with militarism rather than morality. Says Glenn Greenwald: "Giuliani's talent for expressing prosecutor-like righteous anger towards 'bad people' – as well as his well-honed ability to communicate base-pleasing rhetoric towards Islamic extremists – is underappreciated. I don't think any candidate will be able to compete with his ability to convey a genuine hard-line against Middle Eastern Muslims and that is the issue that – admittedly with some exceptions – dominates the Christian conservative agenda more than gay marriage and abortion (concerns which he can and will minimize by promising to appoint more Antonin Scalias and Sam Alitos to the Supreme Court, something he emphasized... in a highly amicable interview with Sean Hannity).

POPSFlorida GOP Debate: FOX Distorts, Won't Let You Decide As is shown with Ron Paul, both the Media and the republican "establishment" CFR republicans must cast aspersions on the candidate who adheres to the Constitution, since they will not be bound by it. The "powers that be" want to continue the neoconservative's "war on terror" (middle east Democratic Jihad), and will employ whatever tactics necessary. Ron Paul wins again in FOX poll and Giuliani got ripped (deservedly) by Fred Thompson who compared his positions to Hillary, who Giuliani has been trying to contrasts himself from. Ron Paul is increasing, Giuliani and the CFR republicans decreasing. Ron Paul finally told the listeners that many polls do not even include him. The media are not reporting, they are deciding for you, and attempting to manipulate the outcomes.

POPSCheney Orders Media To Sell Attack On Iran
MORE; The issuance of orders for Neo-Con mass media arms to push for an assault on Iran also puts the U.S. on red alert for a terror attack, whether real or manufactured, which Dick Cheney has already promised will immediately be blamed on Iran no matter who the real culprits are. On August 1st, 2005 the American Conservative reported that Cheney had tasked the United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM) with drawing up a contingency plan to be employed in response to another 9/11-type terrorist attack on the United States. The plan involved a massive air strike on Iran which included the use of nuclear weapons. The publication reported that, "The response is not conditional on Iran actually being involved in the act of terrorism directed against the United States," meaning that any such attack will immediately be blamed on Iran and any evidence to the contrary will be buried. The London Times reported on Sunday that the Pentagon had finalized plans for a 3 day blitz designed t

POPSThe GRATEFUL IGNORANT who watch FOX NEWS
This is so prototypical of a typical FOX NEWS broadcast. Whenever, I stumble upon a video of a Fox news item ... (Stumble, because I can't stomach even a few minutes of the so called News Source on my TV, since I've CONTRACTED THE BAD HABIT OF "THINKING") I can't help but think... (Darn, there I go again THINKING) WHO ARE THE IGNORAMUSES WHO NEED A DAILY DOSE OF THIS B.S. EVERYDAY? They must not listen or watch anything else but Fox, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Michelle Malkin and slanderous of all, ANN COULTER who recently said "U.S. is a 'Christian nation' and Jews needed to 'perfect' themselves into Christians" or the many other right-winged noise makers, to believe ANYTHING they have to say. Because if they would pick up a legitimate magazine or newspaper and glance at it or maybe even, "cringe", look at a different channel like... "OH NO", Link TV, FreeSpeech TV or PBS, they might develop that annoying habit of THINKING FOR THEMSELVES, too! :-?

POPSMore petty distractions. Pettyness is the word for the day... How do these people come up with this totally unnecessary waste of time and intelligence? WTF... Hannity was a Congressman himself. Disgusting.
