POPS20 Facts About the Brooklyn Bridge -The original toll for crossing the bridge was one penny. - There are 85,159 cubic yards of masonry in the bridge. - The bridge turned out to be a tragedy for the Roebling family. The designer, John Roebling, died from tetanus after a ferry crushed his foot as he was scouting locations for the bridge. His son, Washington Roebling, of Trenton, N.J., fell prey to the bends from his time in caissons laying the foundations for the towers, and became an invalid. Washington's wife, Emily, became the de facto head of construction in his stead. - The bedrock on the Manhattan side turned out to be much deeper than predicted, so the tower on that side of the bridge rests on sand. - The Brooklyn Bridge was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1964, after physically joining the island Manhattan and Long Island for 81 years. POPSBrent Lundy Promo Shoot :: by Zack Arias Zack is an really great photographer based in the Atlanta area. I clipped a video he made a little while back that went way beyond photography. Check out the rest of the pics from this shoot at his site. I love the ones from the "rust bucket." The colors are just amazing. As a bonus, he also gives a good tip on picking up a cheap vehicle for location photography.

POPSHeadhunters are axed. This is the second time that recruiters have gone through this this century. The dot com burst & Y2K being finished, rampaged the recruiting industry in '00/'01. It was amazing how quickly more bad recruiters popped up. Most of these people have no real skills and now they will be out selling themselves as career consultants. Having worked both sides of the desk, stay away from them and look to others for advice. After all if they were so good at their job, wouldn't you think they could find themselves a job?

POPSNov 11 1918: INGLORIUS Date in US Army records (hidden) In the few short hours before 11am of 11/11/1918, United States army casualties were in EXCESS of 3,000 . This was hugely in excess of ALL loses of ALL the other armies!!! Did US men have a death-wish? No, but US generals were quite willing to expend their men's lives on whims! In one instance there were 300 casualties to capture a bath house. So that officers could bath in luxury, 300 died. They was a subsequent inquiry. Its findings were judged so damaging to the US army image that it was never published. Data courtesy of BBC
