POPSFarm Factory Food: Chicks being ground up alive. Hy-Line said the video "appears to show an inappropriate action and violation of our animal welfare policies," referring to chicks on the factory floor. But the company also noted that "instantaneous euthanasia" – a reference to killing of male chicks by the grinder – is a standard practice supported by the animal veterinary and scientific community. Story continues below According to Mercy for Animals, male chicks are of no use to the industry because they can't lay eggs and don't grow large or quickly enough to be raised profitably for meat. That results in the killing of 200 million male chicks a year. Hy-Line says on its Web site that its Iowa facility produces 33.4 million chicks. Based on that figure, Mercy for Animals estimates a similar number of male chicks are killed at the facility each year.

POPSThe Mars Webcam The VMC is operated by the Mars Express Flight Control Team, based at ESOC, Darmstadt, Germany. This activity is conducted on a 'best-effort, last-priority' basis given the availability of planning time, command upload time and data down-link capacity. This is a unique situation, as Flight Control Teams for ESA missions usually do not 'operate' payload instruments; this is done by dedicated, specialised science teams. But the VMC is different: it had a purely operational purpose (successfully completed in 2003 with Beagle's separation) and as such it is not operated by scientists, but by flight controllers.

POPSMental health services neglect of dignity alright hopefully this will stir people into action mental health is highly stigmatised probably due to its past It still begs for a lot of improvement its seems to me psychiatrists are taken as infallible, while other aspects of life and treatment are ignored other than the purely intellectual analytical scientific standpoint I know its improving but it has a long way to go people need to wake up from their routine and the status quo and be more caring

POPSum...yay?? The technology works on the basis that all people and objects emit low levels of electromagnetic radiation. Terahertz rays lie somewhere between infrared and microwaves on the electromagnetic spectrum and travel through clouds and walls. Depending on the material, the signature of the wave is different, so that explosives can be distinguished from a block of clay and cocaine is different from a bag of flour

POPS"God chose babies" dinosaurs. French view Confusion is apparently shared by a majority of Americans. A recent (USA Today) poll had this curious result: 66 percent believe God created man as he is today, and 53 percent lean toward the theory of evolution. It is explained that the Bible began losing its influence because of an abundance of free thinkers, who are maliciously denounced on a wall of shame: Bacon, Descartes, Laplace, Buffon, Darwin. One then passes on to the “scientific” explanations. God clearly created DNA. Let us examine the case of the eye: the eye is really very complex, much more so than a video camera. This is thus proof that it must have taken an omnipotent and omniscient creator to invent this marvel. Not convinced by the science?
