Terragen (scenery generator for windows)
stefh
by stefh  Yesterday 3:32 AM

Floating Cities Proposed as Remedy for Rising Sea Levels
DanaGarrett
by DanaGarrett  7-5-2008
Wouldn't it be much easier to reduce the amount of carbon we pour into the atmosphere than to set humanity adrift on massive floating pontoons? Geez.

Solution to global warming: Floating cities
shandora
by shandora  7-4-2008
The 'Lilypad City' would float around the world as an independent and fully self-sustainable home. With a lake at its centre to collect and purify rainwater, it would be accessed by three separate marinas and feature artificial mountains to offer the inhabitants a change of scenery from the seascape. Power for the central accommodation hub is provided through a series of renewable energy sources including solar panels on the mountain sides, wind turbines and a power station to harness the energy of the waves.

Where the Hell is Matt (Just Laugh)
sahara
by sahara  7-1-2008    1
Where the Hell is Matt: a silly dance in 42 countries that will make you grin like a fool :) ...They were standing around taking pictures in Hanoi, and his friend said "Hey, why don't you stand over there and do that dance. I'll record it." He was referring to a particular dance Matt does. It's actually the only dance Matt does. He does it badly. Anyway, this turned out to be a very good idea. A couple years later, someone found the video online and passed it to someone else, who passed it to someone else, and so on. Now Matt is quasi-famous as "That guy who dances on the internet. No, not that guy. The other one. No, not him either. I'll send you the link. It's funny." The response to the first video brought Matt to the attention of the nice people at Stride gum. They asked Matt if he'd be interested in taking another trip around the world to make a new video. Matt asked if they'd be paying for it. They said yes. Matt thought this sounded like another very good idea.

Sicily Spring Break

Driving around the most famous localities you can taste many specific and local cuisines. Also snacks are in rare form in Sicily. Catania is famous for sweets: pasta di mandorla, a soft cookie made from almonds and honey, is a delicious showcase for the famous Sicilian bitter almond.

The Great Wall Of China
dotmac
by dotmac  1-5-2008
Construction of many of the ancient wonders of the world is mind boggling when you consider that they were made without the use of modern equipment. I would love to include some portion of the wall in some future travel plans.
