POPSA Garden Of Healing That Can Divide “Setting up these little gardens for people to stroll around and feel nice is one of these feel-good California-style exercises,” said Michael Arata, a member of the diocese from nearby Danville. “And I don’t see a practical benefit for something like that.” What makes the debate in Oakland all the more fragile is that the garden was developed by two women who were both sexually abused as children by a priest from the Oakland Diocese. Those victims are Jennifer Chapin, 35, and Terrie Light, 57, who says she is not surprised that the garden has met with skepticism. “Look, 99 percent of survivors might think this is stupid and meaningless,” Ms. Light said. “But there might be a few people who say, ‘This is everything to me.’ And then for them, it would be worthwhile.”

POPSThe Anglican Bubble It's like he thinks the issue just came up last week and we're all holding our breath for Irish Anglicans to lead the church to a resolution! The salt has lost its savor.

POPSMcCain and Obama Go to Church, as US Gov't Goes to Hell
Not just any church of course, but a Mega-Church. 1. Obama uses Rick Warren as an endorsement to escape his association in public minds with the so-called "reverend" Wright: “looking forward to going back to Saddleback with his good friend Pastor Rick Warren.” Obama spoke at Saddleback in 2006. 2. McCain gets to publicly show that he is not averse to (so-called) Christian political churches, which he has criticized in past. 3. Rick Warren, Mr. Hireling and his "Purpose Driven Church"(merchandisers), gets to increase his publicity and no doubt a huge intake of "tithes and offerings" (and 5013c IRS laws will not prevent, since it is bipartisan) for his corrupt church, which Jesus and the apostles would not recognize any more than a Roman Catholic Mass. All in all, this is theater and corruption, religious and political leaders, like the Pharisees and Herodians getting together (who persecuted apostles, as Jesus warned), but no one dare say so.

POPSPope Led Cover-up of Child Abuse by Priests This spotlight now after his recent "apology" for sexual abuse by priests that lacked any credibility. The Pope is a liar, like the devil, as history has consistently demonstrated. "By their fruits ye shall know them", Jesus warned of false prophets. Voila! Where is the repentance for his own role in these crimes of protecting the false church (the primary concern) through evasion and cover-up instead of prosecution and removal? Mass-mongering will never erase nor bring forgiveness for these heinous sins from either God or men! This Antichristian cult must be seen for what it is, a religious-political empire claiming "apostolic authority" of wealth and corruption, pomp, priest-craft, and unscriptural ceremonies that Jesus and the apostles never taught, but consistently warned about would come. This is NOT, nor ever was, a true Christian church or faith, but an impostor.

POPSPope Reasserts Catholic Supremacy Over Protestants His Unholiness reasserts the pre-Reformation, tyrannical and usurping tradition of Papal authority and Roman Catholic supremacy as if Jesus Christ himself taught or authorized his ceremonial priest-craft and Latin Mass ( which is idolatry ), where his Blasphemy, through waving his magic wand and reciting Latin formula ( hocus pocus ) is able to (if you believe this) transform (transubstantiation) mere wafers of bread ("heil presto"--poof!) into the "body of Christ"! Jesus and the apostles never taught such superstition (which hails from Roman paganism, mixed well in its holidays and ecclesiastical hierarchy). The Pope is following the false teaching of Simon Magus, the sorcerer, instead of Simon Peter the apostle. Ritual, ceremony, miters, crosses, candles, pilgrimages, liturgies, and shepherd staffs all make a show of religion (tracing back to Babylonian religions) contrary to the writings of the new testament.

POPSNew fears of Anglican schism over homosexuality About 280 bishops and 750 lay people, including bishops' spouses, are expected to meet in Jerusalem from June 22 to 29 for what they are calling the "Global Anglican Future Conference," organizers said. They include a majority of the bishops from Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and parts of Tanzania, who plan to boycott the Lambeth Conference this year. The rest of those at the Jerusalem Conference are from England, the United States, Australia and some countries in Asia and Latin America.

POPSGotta Love the Catholic Church For a religion that supposedly promotes love and acceptance, and that is struggling to attract more people in this day and age, they sure do seem to take some stupid actions. Just because a person is a woman, apparently that means they aren't allowed to become a leader in their faith. And the church wonders why it's no longer relevant in today's world.

POPSCatholic-Shiite Dialogue - Reasonable Understanding Against the background of these existing contacts between the Vatican and Muslim authorities, one can look forward with anticipation to the first meeting of the Catholic-Muslim Forum, scheduled for early November. The forum was founded following a meeting in the Vatican in March this year, which itself was the result of a letter written in October 2007 by 138 Muslim scholars from 43 countries to the pope and other representatives of the Christian churches. The topic of the forthcoming meeting is to be "Love of God and neighbour." The Vatican-Shiite dialogue is also set to continue: another colloquium is planned for two years time in Tehran. POPSChild Marriage in America vs Texas Sect "Abuse"
Country star Lorretta Lynn was married at 13. History has been forgotten that marrying before 16 even was not entirely rare. Most States permit marriage at 16 with parental consent, some even less (e.g. 14). The news about the sect has largely been filled with inflammatory rhetoric, even fraudulent in an attempt to justify a CPS raid that looked like Waco. Now we hear that the raid was sparked by a fraudulent (CPS planted?) "informant", who was doubtfully involved in the sect at all since she was black. Even some conservative talk radio, like Michael Savage, termed it "Bush's Waco" when it broke--i.e. a news-creating distraction to many more important matters they would prefer to sweep under the public carpet. Modern democratic society hates and distrusts all religion, even marriage, and considers indoctrination of children (which actually everyone does) as a form of tyranny. Yet the Roman Catholic church, and Pope, were not raided over proven sex abuse with SWAT teams!

POPSBush is a Moron Bush's simple mindedness is exemplified perfectly by this moronic statement. Thank goodness this is his last term. Here's hoping it's not too late to correct all the stupid decisions that he has made during his administration.

POPSGod made me do IT? Things are just getting better and better for the Catholic Church. I'm not a member and there is a lot I want to say on the issue but I will refrain from doing so, as I don't want to offend anyone.

POPSEU To Consider Beijing Olympics Boycott Attempts to link unrest in Tibet to the Olympics is likely to enrage the Chinese government, which had hoped the games would be a showcase for the country’s economic progress rather than a lightening rod for criticisms of its political system. Taiwan’s President-elect Ma Ying-jeou said on Sunday after his landslide election victory that the Dalai Lama would be welcome to visit the island and repeated comments that Taiwanese athletes might not participate in the Olympics if the situation in Tibet worsens. Meanwhile, Cardinal Joseph Zen, the highest ranking Chinese cleric in the Roman Catholic Church, called on China to avoid acts of violence that might spoil its hosting of the Olympics.

POPSMan Crucified for the 22nd Time "Of course when we express our faith to the Lord the Church does not want us to hurt ourselves for us to experience the Love of God. But we cannot question somebody's faith. It's just an expression of their faith. We do not lead their lives so we do not know what happens to them while experiencing that, so we might as well respect it." Hmmm . . . the Church seems to be talking out of both sides of their mouths here. I think the point is that you don't have to go on these self-mutliating missions to thank God for having your "prayer's answered".
