POPSObama Nobel Acceptance Shite
Paleontologists generally trace the arrival of modern man, homo sapiens, back 200,000 years, yet the first authenticated written histories are barely 2,400 years old. How Obama and his speechwriters filled in the 197,600-year gap to prove that the practice of war is as old as mankind and implicitly inseparable from the human condition is a question an enterprising reporter might venture to ask at the next presidential press conference. Perhaps delusions of omniscience is the answer. The Oslo speech is replete with references to and appropriations of the attributes of divinity. And to historical and anthropological fatalism; a deeply pessimistic concept of Providence. Obama affirmed that "no Holy War can ever be a just war. For if you truly believe that you are carrying out divine will, then there is no need for restraint." Then shortly afterward stated "Let us reach for the world that ought to be - that spark of the divine that still stirs within each of our souls." An adversary'

POPSThe Best Bar In America Minneapolis is a fun city. Nyes is another Twin-Cites gem More accurately, it is the two best bars in America--Nye's Bar, known as the "Old Side" to its ancient staff and unshifting regulars, and the upscale bordello kitsch of the Polonaise Room--connected through their shared fire wall by a pair of swinging doors. When it comes right down to it, you're either Nye's or you're Polonaise, making this place a kind of crossroads inside and out.

POPSRepost: PCAST H1N1: An Improbable Scenario Requiring More Stringent Non-Medical Measures I had to repost this in response to the strange declaration of a National Emergency. Thanks to the so-called National Response Framework, the Constitution has essentially been suspended. So something nasty is probably about to happen not too far along here in the United States of America. In which time, I pray you will all remember by subtle, underlying message regarding the Kingdom of God which trumps, reigns, and is sovereign over this - the devil's kingdom. It also shall preserve it's residents and those who acknowledge Its sovereignty. This is learned through the grace of God which is the love of all of man where he cares for none to perish, but to come to righteousness through belief in and faithfulness in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, your savior, and my savior. For his promise is true. Amen. With much love, your brother in Christ - David Batchelder.

POPSAssassinating President George Bush in 48 seconds Yet liberals are a miserable bunch. For them, wish fulfillment means there’s no happy ending. "Death of a President" - So apparently portraying the assassination of President Bush back in 2007 is what passed for cinematic art. What is it about the World Left and their fantasies about assassinating Republican Presidents? They romanticize endlessly about the murderous Che Guevara without ever letting people know his deadly history. You can’t get them to be honest about the threat of Islamic extremism…well, the one guy that was honest about it was murdered for it (Dutch film maker Theo van Gogh) with nary a cry from Hollywood about how it represented at the very least a suppression of the right to free speech. But it's for sure you can get them making logically absurd and politically one-sided movies about genocidal American soldiers, the “righteousness” of assassinating Richard Nixon and George Bush.

POPSBin Laden Message to Europe: Withdraw from Afghanistan I clipped the most intriguing phrases. Go to clip source to read entire message. The closing paragraph: His message seems to be Europe, you still have a chance. Don't go down with the American ship. Happy is whoever learns a lesson from the mistakes committed by others. Modest precautions are better than expensive follow-up care. Returning to truth is better than insisting on falsehood. And peace be upon those who follow the path of righteousness.

POPSAre you ready for the New Age? Ephesians 6: The Whole Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephe

POPSCulture of Terror: the Collapse of America ~ I
This great betrayal has taken our “progressive” culture, with “the giant” of applied science lurking over everyone’s sense of the possible and turned it to fatalism. These betrayals have led to “multiculturalism” and the balkanization both of nations, and families, the better to centralize power and to scramble all states into a World “Commonwealth” where power, control and resources are monopolized by an oligarchy; those closer to the labyrinth’s center having greater amounts of all material and social perks and greater immunity from “law.” The dogma of “relativism,” gussied up as “situational ethics” means in effect that the law is the will of those with most power and that reason is an instrument of will and thus of appetites; that the rationales of this new State are thus insane, acts of wanton atrocity, to quote Melville in the epigraph. This deification of the will is a radical subversion of the principles of law, justice and righteousness, as well as charity rooted in Scri

POPSThe Angry White Liberal It's been awhile since the Angry White Liberal was spotted in the wild. He's been in hiding since 2006, when the electorate started handing victory after victory to the Democratic party. For a while there, whenever a liberal surveyed the political scene, it looked as though the country had finally come to its senses. Americans no longer deigned to elect conservatives to high office. In 2008 voters fell for the dulcet tones of a young, charismatic liberal senator from Illinois. A "new progressive era" was about to begin. James Carville's latest book, published earlier this year, promised to explain "how the Democrats will rule the next generation." Then something bizarre began to happen. As Barack Obama's presidency unfurled, his approval ratings fell. The public showed skepticism at his major initiatives.

POPSAfghan elections: fraud, violence, intimidation
This article, from the BBC, is a nice "objective summary." I don't know about you --- and I'm a voter -- but if there was bombs at some polling places, people were threatening to cut my finger off if I voted, and voter fraud by ruthless warlords and their cohorts was pretty much guaranteed, plus a Major Foreign Power was pulling all the strings....it would make it more difficult. Not to mention having to talk about it on forums where cynics say voting is a waste of time anyway. gosh...that's a lot to go through. But, of course, citizenbfk would get to the polls - do or die - that's a fact, jack; that's the way it is. 'Cause, voting is not a waste of time. Even the 'evildoers," and war lords gotta go through the shame of elections. Because it comes down to pushing people around with violence and guns or pushing people around with fear mongering and hate. and fearmongering and hate can be opposed with righteousness and caring...but guns can only be opposed with guns.

POPSKeep Your Eye Simple So The Whole Body Will Be Bright JESUS REMARKED that “the lamp of the body is the eye.” (Matthew 6:22) A lamp is used to light up a dark place so that we know where we are, how to act, which way to go, and so on. By admitting light into our body, our eyes serve the same function as a lamp. They enable us to keep in close touch with the world around us and to respond with intelligent and specific reactions, rather than groping, stumbling, and possibly hurting ourselves. *** w86 5/1 pp. 10-11 pars. 3-4 Is Your Eye “Simple”? ***

POPSAnger Over CIA Flap Is Misplaced
Congress, in the spirit of broad patriotic bipartisan righteousness, authorized the use of force on al-Qaida after it killed 3,000 Americans on Sept. 11, 2001. Now we find out that the CIA lacked the competence or will to hunt down and kill men desperately in need of killing. And it's worse than that. Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein and others make it sound like some rogue conspiracy was afoot "We were kept in the dark," complained Feinstein. "That's something that should never, ever happen again. Withholding such information from Congress "is a big problem because the law is very clear." But in the fall of 2001, Bush issued an executive finding authorizing covert counterterrorism measures. Congress was briefed on that. Even a cursory reading of the public record at the time shows that Congress was nothing but supportive of the effort to take the fight to the enemy. All Cheney is being accused of is that he may have told the CIA not to brief Congress on its methods

POPSConfessions of a Lapsed Atheist "And enlightened as they are, they've come up with quite the pretense for justifying the righteousness of their bigotry: they are defending the vision of our Founding Fathers from a dominionist conspiracy to establish Christianity as the state religion." "You see, for liberal Atheists, the only thing worse than religion is the Religious Right, a term they use to encompass all Christian conservatives. And what better way to siphon fuel from the Religious Right than to convince Americans that the government is perpetually on the verge of becoming a theocracy? " "But above all, Atheists stoke fear among religious and nonreligious alike that conservatives view government as a tool to force religion down your throat."

POPS"The Cairo Effect" We Just Saw It In Iran
(The Persian cat really enjoys toying with the mice.) But the point really isn't whom the voters chose. It's that Iran's entrenched interests read Obama's meant-to-be-conciliatory remarks as a confession of weakness, a signal that the United States is at the end of its strategic rope. For its part, the administration appears stunned, still unable to believe that its self-abasement toward the Middle East didn't inaugurate the Age of Aquarius. Well, consider the view from Tehran (or from Qom, Iran's religious capital): Improved relations with the United States would rob the religious junta of the justification for much of what it does, from looting the country in the name of righteousness to pursuing nuclear weapons. The rulers in Tehran need us as an enemy (along with Israel). A demonized foe is essential to their grip on power. And all that rhetoric about the impending end of time and the return of the Hidden Imam? A key faction -- which includes President Ahmadinejad --

POPSMemorial Day Patriotism, Myths, and "Day of Deceit"
Memorial Day has become a means of self-justification and propaganda to paint a picture of military operations through "remembering the dead" into National Righteousness. Books like this one quickly counter and dispel such myths about the wars Americans have fought in, being misled by Presidents on a global agenda instead of wars of self-defense. the eminent newsman, Edward R. Murrow, who snacked with FDR the night of Pearl Harbor, told his wife the president had revealed: "the biggest story of my life, but I don't know if it's my duty to tell it or forget it." According to Stinnett, years after the war ended, Murrow informed another journalist: "That story would send Casey Murrow through college, and if you think I'm going to give it to you, you're out of your mind." This article covers much more than this book, up to the present wars since 9/11, showing that "oil" plays an important role in each for Petro-Imperialism See article for much more.
