POPSGood news in Taiji btw... john lilly, psychopharmacologist turned LSD-prophet who went into exile and became the founder of inter-species communications and was the focus of the 70s movie, 'day of the dolphin.' in his fabulously important late 1960s book, 'metaprogramming the human biocomputer,' he posed a thesis which has been largely accepted by the biological sciences community. called 'the 9 configurations,' he showed that the 1st config is a single-celled organism with a single command in its program and no way to change. as we come up the ladder to evermore complex organisms, we reach creatures; then creatures which can learn; then we arrive at the 9th configuration, including man, which can not only learn how to learn BUT CAN CHANGE THEIR PROGRAM, not only as a group but as individuals. lilly believed, as i and many others, that psychedelic agents can play a crucial role in the process of seeing and changing the buggy programs.

POPSBirth Cert Lunacy Continues "If Barack Obama was an Irish American or a Polish American or a German American, there would be no discussion anywhere in this country about his citizenship," radio host E. Steven Collins told Chris Matthews on Thursday, in response to his fellow guest, deranged right-winger and Nixon Watergate operative G. Gordon Liddy, whose own attempt to defend the birthers should mark a low point, even for his career. "This is because many people in this nation cannot still accept the fact that a brilliant African-American is the commander-in-chief."

POPSMust Be the Water Texas has always been an important harbinger when it comes to which textbooks are chosen for our public schools across the country. Publishers aren't willing to invest in printing costs (Texas buys a lot of books) without the rest of the nation going along. Now there's the possibility of a Christian Right-winger taking the reigns of the state education board in an already conservative state. Does this mean that Johnny will finally get to learn about Noah loading the dinosaurs on the ark in biology class? Stay tuned...

POPSDefining the World by their Prejudices Because, they believe, the shooter hated Jews, he had to be a “right-winger” because the right wing is the source for anti-Semitism in America. Such an attitude shows that while they accuse those of us on the right of living in the past, their understanding of anti-Semitism dates back at least forty years. Their views of conservatives have little to do with the reality of the conservative movement in America today, indeed, with the conservative movement as it has been evolving at least since William F. Buckely, Jr. launched the National Review in 1955. And yet, all too many in the MSM, equally clueless about the ideas undergirding American conservatism, don’t challenge them on their misunderstanding.

POPSRNC's below-the-belt shot at Pelosi The RNC video, which begins with the speaker’s head in the iconic spy-series gun sight... WTF? Oh, right, it's the GOP, which can jokingly threaten the use of guns against their political adversaries instead of engaging in debate, and it's just considered "funny." It wasn't so funny for 2 "liberal" church-goers who were gunned down by a right-winger whose hatred for liberals was incited by right-wing hate radio. Hate and fear are all the GOP have left. I don't defend Pelosi, in fact I'd like to see her gone from politics, but this little joke is beyond the pale. It is adolescent, offensive, and downright un-American.

POPS Barack’s Junior Brownshirts Are Everywhere Whoever stamped ”DENIED” across my document clearly felt justified in defacing it. Though petty, this was a hostile act - another tiny blow in the insidious war on free thought. … Instead of gossiping at the water cooler, today’s privileged jugend hover in packs around TV monitors to mock the usual suspects - poor old Sarah Palin, the Tea Partiers, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Miss California (chivalry is deader than dead). Together, they telegraph their warning to anyone who might disagree: don’t. … Twenty-somethings are fond of declaring, “It’s a free country!” But is it? Really? hese kids - who see nothing odd about surrounding themselves with creepy, halo’d icons of The One - mock folks who actually make the effort to exercise their right to free speech on talk radio, at Tea Parties, and at workplace printers. They think this double standard is perfectly normal.

POPSJihad and Taliban, CIA Style Upon taking over Afghanistan, the mujahideen fell to fighting among themselves. They ravaged the cities, terrorized civilian populations, looted, staged mass executions, closed schools, raped thousands of women and girls, and reduced half of Kabul to rubble. In 2001 Amnesty International reported that the mujahideen used sexual assault as “a method of intimidating vanquished populations and rewarding soldiers.’”

POPSGlen Beck says Crooksandliars.com and liberal blogs are blaming him for the Pittsburgh shooting Beck: Blaming anyone except the nut job for what happened in Pittsburgh is crazy. Police officers over the weekend were killed by a crazy with a gun and blaming anybody else besides him is like blaming the flight attendant after a terrorist takes down a plane. Giving passengers a nice little safety talk to prepare them doesn't mean your responsible should a terrorist actually make that worst case scenario happen. One person is providing who would have acted that way no matter what. Bloggers rushed to paint this killer as a conservative, presumably one who is clinging to his God and his guns. Actually, we didn't paint him as a "conservative," we called him a "right-winger" -- which he is. It turned out he was an extreme right-winger, but the description was accurate.

POPSMore Limbaugh-right hate talk I sware that the Rush Limbaugh-right that has taken over many levers in the Republican Party truely hates this country and its institutions. Here is an example of a Limbaugh-right-winger, a member of congress, inciting violence all built up against a strawman cartoon of a charicature that they have painted in their own minds of our President.

POPSGlenn Beck's Newest Hypocritical Rant Beck: Comrades! There is good news from the Western Front. Our glorious revolution is starting to take hold on a global scale. Just listen as Comrade Brown pounded our propaganda into the minds of the clueless capitalist pigs today. Listen up. Brown: We should seize this moment. Because never before have I seen a world willing to come together so much. Never before has that been so needed. And never before have the benefits of cooperation been so far-reaching. Beck: Ah, if we could just have the globe all together! Oh ho! How right he is! So if Beck's audience wants to write the British Embassy and apologize for insulting Gordon Brown, maybe they ought to apologize first for Beck's crude insults.

POPSGrovelheads Who are the real dittoheads? That's right; the right-wingers. They line up and do anything their hate-filled, drug-addicted, reality-impaired messiah, Rush, tells them to do. You don't need to understand anything to be a Right-Winger; you just need a good memory to memorize all the mindless talking points.

POPSExit Polls Give Israel's Livni Shock Lead However, some analysts noted that soldiers, whose votes could account for a couple of seats, had not been counted in exit polls and that could favor Netanyahu as tallying continues through into Wednesday. One television station put the right-left split at 64 seats for the right to 56 for the left, which could deny Livni the premiership and persuade President Shimon Peres to ask Netanyahu to try to form a coalition government.

POPSObama picks Rick Warren for his inaugural invocation? Huh?
I was as frustrated as this article's author when I heard Rick Warren, conservative evangelical fundamentalist Christian megachurch pastor, anti-evolution and vacuous circular logic-espousing book author, had been picked to be part of the Obama inauguration. WTF, Obama? This guy and his congregation are exactly the kind of homophobic, hypocritical and fascist people that McCain/Palin were chasing after and who fervently stoke fires of fear and imaginary persecution to achieve power so that they may legislate their morality upon everyone. I praise Obama's quest for inclusive politics but Warren and pals are enemies of change and proponents of exclusion. They and their neo-con counterparts in D.C. achieve only destruction, death and division while waving a false banner of universal love. FAIL. Dump Warren. Dump this inclusion of religion and prayer at this historic inauguration. Dump the evangelism-fueled hatred, bigotry and triumphalism Warren and his cohorts represent. Let's move forwa

POPS"There are two kinds of Republicans: millionaires and suckers." I'd like to suggest a very simple strategy for American liberals: Get mean. Stop policing the language and start using it to hurt our enemies. American liberals are so busy purging their speech of any words that might offend anyone that they have no notion of using language to cause some salutary pain. Why, for example, not popularize slogans that mock the Bush loyalists as "suckers"? Something like, "There are two kinds of Republicans: millionaires and suckers." Put that on a few bumper stickers and I guarantee a lot of "South Park Republicans" will quit the GOP. They just smirk when you tsk-tsk at them for being disrespectful. They want to be disrespectful; every normal young male wants to be. ...Alternet

POPSFighting Words: How to Humiliate -- and Convert -- a Right-Winger This article, written by John Dolan, appears to me like a pathetic display of misunderstood liberal attitudes, caused by fear of being left on the shelf. In case the US-American voters don't understand sober speech but only humiliating speech, one can write the U.S.'s democracy off as a dead loss.

POPS'I Don't Hate Muslims. I Hate Islam,' Says Holland's Rising Political Star
But he has nothing against Muslims. 'I have a problem with Islamic tradition, culture, ideology. Not with Muslim people.' Wilders has been immersing himself in the suras and verse of seventh-century Arabia. The outcome of his scholarship, a short film, has Holland in a panic. He is just putting the finishing touches to the 10-minute film, he says, and talking to four TV channels about screening it. 'It's like a walk through the Koran.' But he does want to create a stir. 'Islam is something we can't afford any more in the Netherlands. I want the fascist Koran banned. We need to stop the Islamisation of the Netherlands. That means no more mosques, no more Islamic schools, no more imams... Not all Muslims are terrorists, but almost all terrorists are Muslims.' Free speech or hate speech? 'I don't create hate. I want to be honest, I don't hate Muslims,I hate their book and their ideology.' 'I don't hate Muslims. I hate Islam,' says Wilders A courageous truth-teller

POPSThe Strange Journey of Ayaan Hirsi Ali: From Devout Muslim to Outspoken "Feminist" Critic of Islam
The former "liberal" who becomes an outspoken right-winger has become an American political archetype. Ronald Reagan and David Horowiz are two prime examples of the breed. They use the rhetorical tool of claiming to be just as caring and compassionate as their previous political incarnation, but the left's irrationality and hatred of (you pick it) the West, America, Christianity, capitalism, etc. caused them to wake up one morning and see the light. And having transformed from lefty caterpillar into a right-leaning butterfly, they present themselves as qualified to comment on liberalism's moral and intellectual failures. related version of this turncoat persona : a "reformed" Muslim woman who favors crushing Islam under the boot of Western militarism. Once very devout in her Muslim beliefs, Ali has transformed into an outspoken critic who bases her calls for the destruction of Islam on feminist and human rights principles.

POPSA Poisonous Affair A video making the rounds on YouTube is helping drive home the dangers of toxic trade and the damage done by right-winger Nancy Nord, who opposes strengthening the Consumer Product Safety Commission so it can keep lead-tainted toys from China from entering the country.

POPSHastert Flew Family and Friends Too According to a Chicago Sun-Times report then Speaker Hastert used his military aircraft to transport himself, staff, security staff, other members of congress, and his wife. Not a single rightwinger complained.

POPSNagasaki bombing labelled a crime I have noticed a rise in Japanese nationalism recently. They have taken a "more active role in the security of the Pacific region" by replacing US troops and bases with their own, and are covering up Japanese war crimes in their history text books. There is also the recent visit to the Yasukuni shrine by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. This all seems to point to the possibility of Japan rethinking its constitutional provision of non-aggression. There have even been talk of Japan pre-empting N. Korea to eliminate its nuclear threat. I am worried over what may happen to the region if Japan fails to act with discretion.
