POPSNew Errors In IPCC Climate Change Report
Researchers insist the errors are minor and do not impact on the overall conclusions about climate change. However, senior scientists are now expressing concern at the way the IPCC compiles its reports and have hit out at the panel’s use of so-called “grey literature” " evidence from sources that have not been subjected to scientific scrutiny. A new poll has revealed that public belief in climate change is weakening. The panel’s controversial chair, Rajendra Pachauri is facing pressure to resign over the affair. Drafts of the reports are checked by scientific reviewers before they are subjected to line-by-line approval by the 130 member countries of the IPCC. Despite these checks, a diagram used to demonstrate the potential for generating electricity from wave power has been found to contain numerous errors. The source of information for the diagram was cited as the website of UK-based wave-energy company Wavegen. Yet the diagram on Wavegen’s website contain ....

POPS75% Are Angry @ Government's Current Policies That's a lot of unhappy people. While you can't please everyone and I'm sure there are some on the Left who are angry that their agenda is becoming stagnant, I believe that there is very little to *like* that's coming from Washington.

POPSHow Climate Change Fanatics Corrupted Science The secular religion of global warming has all the elements of a religious faith: original sin (we are polluting the planet), ritual (separate your waste for recycling), redemption (renounce economic growth) and the sale of indulgences (carbon offsets). We are told that we must have faith (all argument must end, as Al Gore likes to say) and must persecute heretics (global warming skeptics are like Holocaust deniers, we are told). People in the grip of such a religious frenzy evidently feel justified in lying, concealing good evidence and plucking bad evidence from whatever flimsy source may be at hand.

POPS In Search of Self-Governance
He details the concept of self-governance, how we live it every day through the choices we make at home and in our communities, and how we exhibit it through volunteerism and other things outside the world of politics. There are also differences between men and women, rich and poor, young and old, whites and non-whites, investors and non-investors, liberals and conservatives, government employees and entrepreneurs. The more you divide America into subgroups, the more we seem divided. Despite these differences, I am far more interested in what unites us. And, the good news is that there is lots of common ground that unites the American people today. Like most Americans, I consider myself very fortunate to live in the United States. I’m proud to be an American and proud of our great national heritage"a heritage built upon freedom, liberty, and the belief that the people should rule their rulers. I am grateful for those who have given their lives defending our ....

POPSClimategate Professor Phil Jones Could Face Ten Years on Fraud Charges
privacy, electronic communications regulations and environmental regulations. What is not being intelligently reported is that Jones is still liable as lead conspirator in the UK’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) and may face prosecution under the United Kingdom Fraud Act (2006). If convicted of the offense of fraud by either false representation, failing to disclose information or fraud by abuse of his position, he stands liable to a maximum penalty of ten years imprisonment. In this article I shall demonstrate that the fuss over the FOIA infringement, although in itself succeeding in achieving no conviction, does demonstrate that the ICO has acted improperly and may have prejudiced the outcome of any prosecution Jones may face for far more serious offenses for false representation (section 2) and failing to disclose information (section 3) under the Fraud Act (2006). I strongly urge interested readers to study the article

POPSSexual predator arrested after 13-yr-old neighbor reports abuse Protect your children. This occurred right here in my town. We've had several incidents of men at local schools trying to incise young boys into their cars. Fortunately in 2 reported cases the boys ran away and in 1 case the person was approached by a coach who then fled in his vehicle. We never suspect them. They always look so *normal*.

POPSThe Congressional Effect Fund Reports In on It's First Year of Investing and Does 30% Better Than S & P
On a total return basis during this period, $10,000 invested in the S&P 500 would be worth $6,775. That same $10,000 invested instead in the Congressional Effect Fund would be worth $9,838 net of fees -- a 45.21% difference in relative performance. (Note: Fund rankings are subject to change. See the most recent Morningstar rankings here.) Given the difference in how the market performed this past year when Congress was "working" versus on vacation, I'd have to give Congress an "F" as a mid-term grade. In January, I described 2008 as a “Torture Test for Mutual Funds”; given the terrible environment I was extremely proud of the Fund’s performance. Almost six months have passed since then and my sentiment remains the same. Given the actions of Congress and the continuing uncertainty I remain a firm believer in the Congressional Effect Fund’s strategy and potential to provide superior risk-mitigating performance. We have witnessed Congressional action that has really hurt .....
