How The FCC and Liberal Churches are Scheming to Shut You Up
merrie

from staunch critics of illegal immigration. Open-borders groups have sought to marginalize, criminalize, and demonize those of us who have raised our voices for years about lax immigration enforcement " and to impose an Orwellian Fairness Doctrine-style policy on illegal alien amnesty opponents. During the presidential campaign, the National Council of La Raza launched a “We Can Stop the Hate” project to redefine tough policy criticism from the Right as “hate.” Unsurprisingly, far Left billionaire George Soros’s money is backing the “So We Might See”/National Hispanic Media Coalition effort. And remember that the Soros-funded Center for American Progress has provided the Obama White House with its Fairness Doctrine-embracing “diversity czar,” Mark Lloyd. Jeffrey Lord, who happens to belong to the United Church of Christ, reported in the American Spectator that not long after that speech, the UCC sent out a mass e-mail to its millions of members urging them.......

Final word: Democrats are Worse Than Republicans
disenchantedcitizen
by disenchantedcitizen  10-9-2009
It has been argued that the Democratic party is only about two degress left of the Republican party. Even is it is true, it is only true in a politically useless way. Their point of view on reproductive rights depends on if they are talking to religious bigots or progressives. Obama panders to the right-wing on health care for undocumented workers, who are, as usual, good enough to work for slave wages and pay into the system, but not good enough to receive benefits. On the issue of the war there could not be any clearer expression of the operational similarities between the Democrats and Republicans. This country is sorely in need of an independent, working class oriented, political movement that relentlessly attacks exploitation and oppression everywhere it rears its head. And the first step toward that is to lose all illusions in the Democratic Party, and stop providing any kind of left cover for them.

Liberal Presuppositions: Why Leftists ARE America’s “Domestic Enemy”
clip-on-tie
by clip-on-tie  8-23-2009    2
From a presuppositional perspective, liberals and radical leftists adhere to some basic beliefs: * White conservatives are racist * God is a myth * Evolution is fact * Criminals are merely a product of their environment * The rich should pay for the poor * All poor whites are uneducated rednecks * All rich whites manipulate every aspect of society for their personal benefit * The Constitution is a “living document” and can be altered at will * Liberals are incapable of being racist * Blacks are incapable of being racist How sick that liberals would dare gripe about anti-obama demonstrations when idiot leftists were carrying around signs to murder George Bush. Gross. Just disgusting. One point to clarify about "men and women cannot control their sexual behavior." I take that to mean their "promiscuity", not whether or not they are gay or straight. I am not against loving the person you choose to be with.

Why won't opponents of same-sex marriage make predictions on the record?
Lexica
by Lexica  8-20-2009
More: You would think they would react like Albert Pujols when presented with a hanging curveball. Yet none was prepared to forecast what would happen in same-sex marriage states versus other states. Maggie Gallagher, president of the Virginia-based Institute for Marriage and Public Policy, has declared that losing this battle "means losing American civilization." But she politely declined my invitation. Stanley Kurtz, a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, has been equally dire… When it came time to offer more specific predictions, Kurtz was missing in action. I e-mailed him twice and left a message on his office voicemail. After two weeks, I'm beginning to lose hope. The only person willing to talk was David Blankenhorn, president of the Institute for American Values…When I talked with him, though, he declined to predict what tangible bad things will occur in same-sex marriage states.

Scary Fundamentalists
foxyarse
by foxyarse  8-7-2009    2
When people adhere to fundamentalist principles they are often driven to extreme action in support of their beliefs and so the rest of us, the rational world, have to deal with the fallout. Murders and atrocities are committed in the name of God and they have been for centuries now. It is depressing to consider how long the religious battle has been raging because there can be no end to it unless religion itself disappears. If Protestants and Catholics can´t get on with each other what chance is there of either getting on with Muslims? Religion has been responsible for death and persecution on a grand scale. The war waged between the Catholic and Protestant faiths has left an especially deep scar in the UK and even in my home country of Scotland there are still religiously motivated acts of violence (thankfully rare nowadays). However on a world scale the violence caused by religious intolerance is still the greatest threat to peace today. As an atheist I am always surprised by the

Sacrificial virgins of the Mississippi
ratilfar
by ratilfar  8-6-2009    2
As archaeologist Timothy Pauketat's cautious but mesmerizing new book, "Cahokia: Ancient America's Great City on the Mississippi," makes clear, Cahokia -- the greatest Native American city north of Mexico -- definitely belongs to human history. (It is not "historical," in the strict sense, because the Cahokians left no written records.) At its peak in the 12th century, this settlement along the Mississippi River bottomland of western Illinois, a few miles east of modern-day St. Louis, was probably larger than London, and held economic, cultural and religious sway over a vast swath of the American heartland. Featuring a man-made central plaza covering 50 acres and the third-largest pyramid in the New World (the 100-foot-tall "Monks Mound"), Cahokia was home to at least 20,000 people. If that doesn't sound impressive from a 21st-century perspective, consider that the next city on United States territory to attain that size would be Philadelphia, some 600 years later.

Saudi Arabia flies from "indecent" planet
cakebelly
by cakebelly  8-4-2009
more: Under Sharia law, the Roc may be summoned once every thousand years. The departure was met with shock, sadness and disbelief throughout the world. In the streets of New York, hundreds of thousands of people flooded into the streets in a spontaneous outpouring of emotion. "Here in America, we have enjoyed so much of Saudi culture, including shawarma, fatwas, censorship, and bans on pork and alcohol," wept one woman. "Now it is gone, gone forever." President Obama gave a tribute to Saudi Arabia later in the day. "Many have said that Saudi Arabia lagged behind the rest of the world," he said. "Yet, when it came to lagging behind, this proud nation was ahead of us all." However, widespread concerns that the world's largest oil deposits had also been taken away proved false. A flyby of the area revealed the Saudi oil in a vast lake at the bottom of the hole where the country used to be. Said Obama, "This does not lessen our grief, but it makes it easier to bear."

The definition of fascio
willhelm
by willhelm  7-3-2009    6
It cannot be stated too many times that Mussolini himself recognized the ideas and writings of Woodrow Wilson in support of his ideology. Everyone should read Wilson's writings and speeches about why he is a Progressive. It is startling. We have seen under GW Bush and now at hyper-speed under Obama the rise of Wilsonian Progressivism, which is fascism. People often make the mistake of assuming the hate of Hitler and the brutality of Mussolini and other fascists is the definitive nature of Fascism. They are not. As highlighted in this clip, fascism has a specific meaning. This is where we are today. America was fascist-light under Woodrow Wilson. We are heading that way again. More power to the Fed, General Electric, liberty being evaporated by government/corporate paradigms such as energy, general electric, healthcare, auto industry, the integration of compulsory service and more to come.

Mr. Wright just does it with real, raw hatred, and every new slam is cheered on by his jubilant congregation. His is not a lone voice. He just sings the music to fit the words. "Emboldened by what they see as a kindred spirit in the White House, liberal Christians are stepping up their political activism in a big way."

The Right to Choose
Anangeli
by Anangeli  6-19-2009
I can understand how the right to choose cannot be swiped off with condemnation. We have to look at the many different situations when abortion is the right thing to do. Mostly, the decision affects one human being and a fetus. When we begin to understand the difference between the vessel and what it contains (a personality, a soul) and when both are bounded as a human being, maybe we can make rule about abortion. Western medicine only focuses on the physical, so how can it decide with NO knowledge of the process AT ALL when a body is a person and when it is not?????? To the medical community, I say: Start getting educated into the soft knowledge of the soul and I would respect your decisions. This decision cannot be left to religious nor to Bible belt fanatics. In the meantime, a mother's life is here already, a healthy baby can be had any time in the future.

Shallow Shouting from The Left

In the names of fantasy worlds and mystical perfections, they have closed themselves to the Western, liberal miracle of individual rights, individual responsibility, merit, and human satisfaction. Like Marx, they put words like 'liberty' in quotation marks when these refer to the West…."

Iranian Opposition Calls for Rally
merrie
by merrie  6-17-2009    2
therefore they can't trust their vote recounts, either," said cleric Ali Akbar Mohtashamipour, a spokesman for Mr. Mousavi's camp. The rallies in Tehran were mostly calm, following Monday's protest that left seven people dead. On Sunday, five students at Tehran University were reported killed, though that figure hasn't been confirmed by state media. On Tuesday, the two sides kept their distance from one another and the uniformed security forces stood at the sides of the rallies. Many opposition demonstrators said they had come out despite a government ban and warnings by Mr. Mousavi to avoid confrontation after Monday's bloody rally, to show they won't give in to pressure. "Now that our movement has started, it must continue. If they kill us, we will get more resolved,"said Mohamad Reza, a 24-year-old textile seller in Tehran's Grand Bazaar. "They just want Mousavi because he told them he will give them freedom," said one Ahmadinejad supporter.

"Godless nations look pretty good"
Richclips777
by Richclips777  6-14-2009    7
In the categories of lowest infant mortality, gross domestic product per capita, economic equality, environmental protection, aid to poor nations, establishment of social justice and quality of life, it is again the most irreligious nations which make up most of the top 20. Not surprisingly, Zuckerman cherry-picked liberally biased categories and conveniently left out vital categories which America dominates like rich bankers per capita and rate of weekly church attendance. Stand your ground against tofu-eating, progressive evidence-based thinkers like Zuckerman. Let the invisible hand of the free-market work. Other than less violence, less poverty, health care for everyone, better public schools, better wages, better benefits, better government and a cleaner environment, you never know what America would look like without religion and unfettered capitalism.
