POPSSarah Palin Likes Obama's Energy Plan Poor John McCain. Not only does he select as a Vice Presidential someone who less foreign policy experience than Obama (making her one old codger's heartbeat away from the Presidency), but she recently praised aspects of Obama's energy plan. Besides, her glasses look weird on her, and I'm well versed on wearing weird glasses.

POPSAmerica Finally Getting Sick and Tired of Hearing About Barack Obama
They aren’t talking about the fact that it was Obama who first trotted out the race card by suggesting we’d all be scared into submission by Republican assertions that Obama didn’t “look like all those other guys on the dollar bills.” As even more complete picture of the candidate begins to emerge, the number of Americans expressing doubt about Obama increases. In the Illinois State Senate Obama sponsored bills to provide universal health care coverage, drastically increase welfare, handcuff the police and burden them with administrative overhead, make it more difficult and time consuming for law-abiding citizens to purchase lawfully-regulated firearms for self-defense and generally expand government, welfare, affirmative action and other entitlement programs. By all accounts, Ms. Hilton’s energy policy, is in fact, more comprehensive than Obama’s, which focuses almost exclusively on the development of petroleum alternatives, tune-ups and tire pressure checks.

POPSThe Interview With Author David Freddoso
"The Case Against Barack Obama" The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media's Favorite Candidate That would have been against the interests of now-convicted developer Tony Rezko, who was tied closely to the Stroger family. He would have upset Mayor Daley, he would have to upset Emil Jones. So he played along like a good machine politician. Obama was denounced by a lot of liberals including some big people who were still big fans of his at the time. Obama’s very much about the old politics, and he’s very much not a reformer. It shouldn’t be a surprise except the only surprise is that he has managed to project this reformer image. MO: Your book references many stories from the Chicago Sun-Times. Why does the national media ignore it? DF: Well, unfortunately, I think the national media -- which resides largely in New York and Washington and perhaps out West in Los Angeles -- doesn’t look at or read the Chicago papers nearly as much as they should.

POPSFARC Hostage Ingrid Betancourt Freed But in becoming so famous, the 46-year-old Ms. Betancourt also became more valuable to the FARC, which was feeling the heat from the government under U.S.-ally President Álvaro Uribe (who, it so happened, hosted Sen. John McCain on Tuesday). FARC funds itself largely through drug trafficking and kidnapping, but despite such activities had found a friend in Hugo Chávez. The Venezuelan president and FARC had sought to use the selective release of hostages to get governments allied with him, such as Ecuador and Nicaragua, to grant the group diplomatic recognition -- a move that, if followed by other countries in the region, would undermine the Colombian government's offensive against the FARC and by extension U.S. influence in the region. Mr. Chavez had declared his motives to be purely humanitarian; but, in any event, it is the Colombian military that has now done the selective releasing.

POPSFirefox 3.0 RC1 Released, With A Sneaky Change

POPSBREAKING: McCain Resigns From His Own Campaign "My support for President Bush's comparison of Senator Obama to Adolf Hitler, because Barack was willing to speak to Iran's leaders, was the last straw," said McCain. "Especially when I had already suggested that it was a good idea."

POPSDemocrats not very democratic The Obama supporters have been up in arms about the Clinton plan to try and win the primary by picking up more of the super delegates at the convention. They say doing so is thwarting the will of the people by trying to use back room politics to win the nomination. Yet this is exactly what the Obama camp is celebrating right now. Their candidate will likely win more delegates in Texas even though Clinton won the popular vote. This clearly shows that caucuses don't always reflect the will of the people. So without counting Michigan and Florida, and with Obama wining many if not all of the caucuses, who is to say what the will of the people is? Is Hillary right or wrong for taking this primary all the way to the convention? I don't know (and don't care for that matter), but I do know that she would have no more stolen the nomination if she does pull of the win than Obama will have stolen it if he wins.

POPSFor now: just remember, half the story The peace talks had to be stopped. Peace in Columbia at this point does not suit the US drug runners so they assassinate the main peace maker of FARC, an old man. So will we have another Kosovo in Columbia? Oh sorry, only the USA can create new states and they already have a narco drug state in Columbia!

POPSThe Revolution: A Manifesto Here is Ron Paul's Preface to the book: Every election cycle we are treated to candidates who promise us "change," and 2008 has been no different. But in the American political lexicon, "change" always means more of the same: more government, more looting of Americans, more inflation, more police-state measures, more unnecessary war, and more centralization of power.Real change would mean something like the opposite of those things. It might even involve following our Constitution. And that’s the one option Americans are never permitted to hear…. With national bankruptcy looming, politicians from both parties continue to make multi-trillion dollar promises of "free" goods from the government, and hardly a soul wonders if we can still afford to have troops in – this is not a misprint – 130 countries around the world. All of this is going to come to an end sooner or later, because financial reality is going to make itself felt in very uncomfortable ways.

POPSWindows XP Service Pack 3: Try It If You Dare Recently, Microsoft downplayed the significance of Windows XP SP3. In a white paper posted to its Web site, the company praised Windows Vista at XP's expense, reminding users that Vista boasted beefed-up security, for instance. The spokeswoman also chimed in. "Windows XP SP3 does not bring significant portions of Windows Vista functionality to Windows XP," she said. That may be so, but according to a Florida performance testing software developer, XP SP3 is not only 10% faster than XP SP2, but more than twice as fast as Vista SP1, claims that Microsoft disparaged within days. XP SP3, in fact, is the newest version of Vista's biggest rival , according to Forrester Research. U.S. and European businesses will delay Vista deployment, Forrester analyst Benjamin Gray said a month ago......

POPS Illegal And Unrecorded Closed-Door Meeting With The Parole Board Murray Waas' prize-winning article for the Arkansas Times in 2002. In 2005, long before Mike Huckabee had been mentioned as a serious presidential candidate, the Arkansas Times ran a reprint of a horrifying article. ...Huckabee has denied a role in Dumond’s release, which has become an issue in his race for re-election against Democrat Jimmie Lou Fisher. Fisher says Huckabee’s advocacy of Dumond’s freedom, plus other acts of executive clemency, exhibit poor judgment. In response, Huckabee has shifted responsibility for Dumond’s release to others, claiming former Gov. Jim Guy Tucker made Dumond eligible for parole and saying the Post Prison Transfer Board made the decision on its own to free Dumond. Ace has more on Huckabee's 1,033 clemencies.

POPSDes Moines Register discriminates against Kucinich when people go to various sites, non-partisan internet issue sites -- several of them are out there – internetstrawpoll.com/ , dehp.net/candidate/ , Minnesota Public Radio -- where you can list your issues and find out which candidate most closely matches your own ideas and ideals, Dennis Kucinich has consistently come out as the leading candidate, as the candidate whose views are most closely aligned with the vast majority of Americans. Not second, third, fourth, or fifth. First. So why do you only hear that Dennis Kucinich is polling in the single digits in national or statewide polls? I don’t know. You tell me. You really need to read the entire article. It lists polls where Dennis was first or close second. Yet these were never reported. The rich elite citizens do not want him in office; he is a threat to their empires.
