POPSDying to get back to this incredible place I am in no way affiliated to Yelapa or Casa's de Isabel. I am very much in love with this space and it's people. Isabel, California native, has been a part of the Yelapa community for over 40 years. She is only one of the very few who have been privileged to visit with the indigenous Huichol Indians. This entire area is also known for the many celebrities that also have been entranced by the overwhelming beauty and serenity. For movie buffs check out remember "Night of the Iguana" with Richard Burton, Ava Gardner and Deborah Kerr? It was filmed not far from here: http://www.virtualvallarta.com/puertovallarta/puertovallarta/aboutpuertovallarta/picture-perfect-the-histo.shtml. Casa Isabel is located on "The Point," is quiet, and just a ten minute walk from the markets and restaurants in the village. The entire property overlooks a seasonal stream, with two waterfalls running through the canyon.

POPSA Dangerous Sunrise on Planet Gliese 876d [images] "Gliese 876 d is an extrasolar planet orbiting the red dwarf star Gliese 876. At the time of its discovery in June 2005, the planet had the lowest mass of any known extrasolar planet apart from the pulsar planets orbiting PSR B1257+12. Gliese 876 d takes less than two days to complete an orbit, at a distance only one-fiftieth of that between the Earth and the Sun and is the innermost known planet in its planetary system. Due to its low mass it can be categorized as a Super-Earth." This is the Astronomy Picture of the Day for May 21, 2008.

POPSColors of the Night Sky The last photo is a panorama - scroll far over to the right to see the entire image (or clicking will take you to the original). The second to last photo is called Emerald Tornado. "The blood moon is also known as the “Hunter’s Moon” or “Sanguine Moon.” While folklore warns that a blood moon is a sign of bad times, the red star of night is anything but. The name “Hunter’s Moon” originates from the fact that this moon cast a brilliant light, allowing hunters to continue to seek prey even at nighttime" "No matter how much fact stands behind blood moons, some people still continue to think of them as harbingers of doom (but they are really quite the opposite!)"

POPSColors From Outer Space "Capturing color in outer space with the Hubble Telescope is not as simple as with a normal camera using color film. The Hubble’s camera records light from the universe using “electronic detectors” which capture two or more separate black and white photos. The resulting colors are not always what the human eye would see in space, but nonetheless, the images created by Hubble and the NASA team are imaginative and stunning." A lot more text at the source....very interesting article!
