POPSObama, Maurice Strong, Al Gore Key Players Cashing In On Chicago Climate Exchange
The nondescript Strong, nonetheless is the big cheese in the underworld of climate change and is one of the main architects of the failing Kyoto Protocol. Full credit for the expose on the business partnership of Strong and Gore in the cap-and-trade reduction scheme should go to the investigative acumen of the Executive Intelligence Review (EIR). The tawdry tale of the top two global warming gurus in the business world goes all the way back to Earth Day, April 17, 1995 when the future author of “An Inconvenient Truth” travelled to Fall River, Massachusetts, to deliver a green sermon at the headquarters of Molten Metal Technology Inc. (MMTI). MMTI was a firm that proclaimed to have invented a process for recycling metals from waste. Gore praised the Molten Metal firm as a pioneer in the kind of innovative technology that can save the environment, and make money for investors at the same time. “Gore left a few facts out of his speech that day,” wrote EIR.

POPSElectronic Waste - A Call For Change It goes deeper into the way electronic gadgets are manufactured. People have noticed this for a long while but no one had/has done anything to change the real cause of this problem. No one questions why a perfectly good TV, stereo, printer etc has to get thrown away because a very minor part no longer functions and manufacturers make it more expensive to buy the replacement part that would fix it. So, it works out cheaper for people to throw it out and buy a new one. Everyone knows this, but why is this allowed to continue. Printers are soooo cheap, but the ink to refill is expensive. It is cheaper to use the printer once, throw it out and buy a new one compared to replacing the ink. The list goes on... Doesn't this have to change??? Isn't this the real culprit???

POPSAmerica Is a Toxic Dump Lobbying groups like the National Association of Manufacturers, headquartered in Washington, have fought tooth and nail for decades against any restrictions on the highly profitable production of disposable containers and packaging. And at the other end of the equation, the equally powerful waste-management companies (a multi-billion-dollar industry) work on the simple premise that more trash equals more cash.

POPSChristians told to take down green campaign posters that mention God by Camden council Doesn't feel so good when the shoe is on the other foot now does it? Story continues: "A group organiser said: “This time last year we held a Green Fair for the Feast of St Francis, which was a great community event. Our local MP Frank Dobson and many town councillors came. “We had a good deal of support from Camden Council who had stalls promoting recycling and compost. I don’t understand why they they won’t allow us to put up our posters this year.” Mike Judge, a campaigning group for the Christian Institute, added: “Camden’s decision is ridiculous and most people will roll their eyes and shake their heads at it. It would be laughable, if it were not so serious. “But it is serious because it reveals a problem deep at the heart of too many public bodies. They think it’s OK to trample on Christianity in a way that they would never do with any other religious group. That complacency has to stop.” "

POPSGreen shop owner is fined by council for not producing any rubbish This guy is doing what we all should be doing, avoiding waste by recycling, reducing and reusing. City council, who refuses to accept evidence that he is indeed not producing trash, is stuck in the tired old destructive ways of filling massive garbage dumps. They should be rewarding this guy for cutting down on waste. Instead they are more concerned with contributing to the cash flow of one of the city’s contractors. Disgusting display of city office working against us and for a private contractor.
