POPSObama to Meet High-Powered Aides for Afghan Review
were the top ranking civilian officials expected for a bracing session on a war some supporters fear could swamp Obama's presidency. War commander General Stanley McChrystal, who warned in a leaked report that the conflict could be lost within a year without more troops, was also due to to take part, either in person or by video link-up, the White House said. Other top military brass included were General David Petraeus who heads US central command, Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Director of National Intelligence Admiral Dennis Blair. CIA chief Leon Panetta was also due to take part, along with Richard Holbrooke, the US envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as the US ambassadors to Islamabad and Kabul. Obama warned after meeting NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen on Tuesday that the United States could not fight the battle in Afghanistan alone, in remarks apparently aimed at European partners.

POPS74% of Republicans Believe GOP Congress Has Lost Touch Republican voters overwhelmingly believe it is more important for the party to stand for what it believes in rather than trying to work with President Barack Obama. Eighty-four percent (84%) of Republicans hold that view while just 14% favor more co-operation with the President.

POPSPresidential Job Approval rating "If we allow 'cap-and-trade' to become law and the National Health Care Act to become law and a comprehensive amnesty bill to become law -- all of those things are transformational," the congressman points out. "I believe they are irreversible. And I think the American people are exactly right to be very concerned."

POPSRasmussen poll: Toomey crushing Specter, Sestak I'm not sure I'd call it "crushing" but I'm encouraged. After that *display* at his health care townhall meeting it's hard to believe he has any support. The poor man seems pitifully senile; but then there are a lot of those in Congress.

POPSWill Americans permit them to get away with this? Why would they advocate reducing emissions to avoid a global warming that is not happening? Why are so many in Congress wedded to this hoax? And will Americans permit them to get away with this? Instead of doing everything possible to encourage energy companies to find and extract the energy reserves the United States requires to function and grow, the White House and Congress is doing everything in its power to restrict energy use.

POPSThe Silence of the Bilderbergs For a long time, people who spoke of the Bilderbergs or the New World Order, were considered "conspiracy theorists". Here in DK, the whole can of worms has gone very public. Our mainstream media, bloggers, politicians etc are all finally starting to wonder, what the heck is going on. Our PM is facing some tough questions, questions he refuses to answer. Follow each of the links clipped from, to get a general idea of what's going on. Today, in my opinion, the ones we should be laughing at, are the "coincidence theorists". ------ Explanations: The "Folketing" is our Parliament. Jyllands Posten is one of the country's largest print newpapers. * The missing "minutes" is a wrong translation. The word referat means report, or summary.

POPSBill Clinton: Hillary-Obama Ticket "Almost Unstoppable Force" Via the Page. Note the extent to which he volunteered her thinking on this. This report suggests that he offered this in an answer to a question. But Hillary floated this yesterday, and, now, Bill today -- and it's hard to imagine that both Clintons would be talking this up in tandem by accident. Separately, Newsweek's poll today finds that 69% of Dems support the idea. Late Update: Obama himself rejected the possibility that he'd serve as veep: Obama was asked by a television reporter, "Can you ever see yourself on the same ticket as Sen. Clinton?" And the freshman Illinois senator replied: "Well, you know, I think it’s premature. You won’t see me as a vice presidential candidate -- you know, I’m running for president. We have won twice as many states as Senator Clinton, and have a higher popular vote, and I think we can maintain our delegate count."
