POPSIt’s the Constitution, Stupid: What the Tea-Partiers Really Want
be prepared, he will give you the right answer, but it will not be the answer you want to hear. I know, I asked him. With that, let me tell you what the Tea Party movement wants. I will make it simple and straightforward and easy for all to understand — I will put it in all CAPS and type slowly: THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT WANTS AMERICA TO RETURN TO CONSTITUTIONAL PRINCIPLES. There it is. I said it, one simple sentence. The Democrats and its activist old media want to find “leaders” for the Tea Party movement. They feel that the only worthwhile political movement must have direction from a man (or woman—but mainly men). They saw the movements led by Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini and feel that there must be a dynamic personality for people to follow in order for it to be significant. That same game plan was followed in the 2008 presidential election: find a dynamic leader who fits with the values of larger, more intrusive government, and follow him.

POPSUnsustainable ....... by Mark Steyn the State of the Union than any of the dreary 90-minute sludge he paid his speechwriters for, let us consider it: Is America a Corpseman walking? Well, we’re getting there. National Review ’s Jim Geraghty sums up Obama’s America thus: “Unsustainable is the new normal.” Indeed. The other day, Douglas Elmendorf, director of the Congressional Budget Office, described current deficits as “unsustainable.” So let’s make them even more so. The president tells us, with a straight face, that his grossly irresponsible profligate wastrel of a predecessor took the federal budget on an eight-year joyride, so the only way his sober, fiscally prudent successor can get things under control is to grab the throttle and crank it up to what Mel Brooks in Spaceballs (which seems the appropriate comparison) called “Ludicrous Speed.” Obama’s spending proposes to take the average Bush deficit for the years 2001– 2008, and double it, all the way to 2020.

POPSiGrow Opens: Marijuana Superstore I first heard this on the TV news. 15,000 sq. feet of marijuana growing supplies, experts on hand to answer questions, home delivery...gads! - It was like being back in Amsterdam. The Dutch made and make millions from selling tulips (let that sink in for awhile) -- so being good growers -- and doing business -- is bred in their culture. Marijuana is a very useful plant. Lots of positive benefits. Better than booze. And the Dutch had a lot of Marijuana Millionaires (that guy who stop the Christmas terrorist, for example). It's not good for making people politic active, though -- that's for sure: "Will you and Alice get out of bed for God's Sake!" I found myself saying a lot. "Put down the bag of potato chips, turn off the cartoons and come to the rally!" The Dutch called Yanks: "The starved." -- and they would thrown the leaf in the trash and laugh as they watched the Yanks go through the garbage.

POPS He Who Shall Not Be Named As this administration brings us closer to hell, the 2010 mid-term elections are a way for the Kool-Aid drinkers to repent for their transgressions and make this beanpole president-in-training a one-termer. POPSSET | Is health care reform DOA? California's inoperable and ineffective government may have met its match: The U.S. Congress! Increasingly, it appears that the health care reform plan that has occupied so much congressional attention and time this year is going to stall and not reach the president's desk. Many would agree that the "stalemate" is not a bad thing. What will the voters thing come November? But again, perhaps all of this publicity may still be posturing as the various political factions try to rally support, either among congressional colleagues or the public. ___ SOURCE | http://googlelabs.twi.bz/x ___ SEARCH | http://google.twi.bz/vz ___ SET | SENIOR TIME | My iWEB Blogs | http://me.twi.bz/q ALTACITIES | http://altacities.com | http://me.twi.bz/X Help us reach 1,234 subscribers by 5:06 pm (7 sec) on 8-9-10 Matching the numerical sequence 12345678910 Details here | http://me.twi.bz/5 ___ 224 | A2G | Today, Tomorrow, Forever | According to Google

POPSReligious Right Gathers in Washington A curious mingling of anti-choice and anti-health care supporters gathered to voice their encouragement to force women to follow their mandates and rent out their wombs by order of the theocratic government. A curious mixing of anti-health care proponents rounded out the protest. I'm sure the Insurance companies are smiling.

POPSGive Up on Post-Partisanship
"Here's a symbolic, but smart start: Jettison those on the White House economic team whose slow, timid response to the crisis of unemployment and to Wall Street's obscene excesses helped create the conditions for the tea party's inchoate right-wing populism." "The Bay State offers another lesson. Barack Obama's decision to demobilize his base after his victory, in favor of an insider approach to governing, was a big mistake. I'm not a political strategist, but I don't know how you win elections by failing to rally the people who've worked so passionately at the grass roots to get you elected. It's time to re-mobilize the base." "And here's a no-brainer: After a year of being knifed by the GOP at every turn, isn't it time to give up on faith in genteel post-partisanship? Go after those who oppose your common-sense tax on big banks to recoup the taxpayer-funded bailout money." - http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703699204575016873048085934.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEADSecon

POPSPolitical Prescience Hurtfully Poo-Poo’d
I could be wrong because I didn’t comb the entire blogosphere, but I think the scoop for rallying Republicans nationally to support Scott Brown to become the 41st Republican senator, able to stop Obamacare with a single filibuster, belongs to Prof. William Jacobson of Legal Insurrection, and Hill Buzz, the blog of a group of moderate Democratic gay men in Chicago who campaigned for McCain/Palin after the nomination was stolen from Hillary. That’s fine. Legal Insurrection and Hill Buzz have been all over this, as ConLesb notes, with hard-hitting bloggage throughout the month of December. To the extent they rallied support, they are welcome to the bragging rights. My job is not to support, rally, cheerlead or fire up anyone’s base. I just blather about what is, was and might be … though I’ll admit as a professional Tabloid American I prefer a good electoral gutter fight to a coronation. And as ConLesb notes, despite my having somehow morphed into a right-wing warmonger .....

POPSVeterans and Military Families Speak Out There is a HUGE antiwar rally scheduled for March 20th in Washington, DC. More from the article below: "This reality cannot be hidden forever, and every day more of us are waking up. Every day it becomes more apparent that these are not wars for “national defense” or anyone’s “freedom”; these are wars for empire. On March 20, we will be marching on Washington. And the more people that join us, the more we can inspire other soldiers to do the same, and the closer we get to ending these criminal wars. –" "As mothers, when our sons and daughters are sent back in flag-draped coffins, we do not ask if they were one in 135,000 or one in 50,000. They are still just as dead. When our sons and daughters come home, broken in mind and soul, trying to kill themselves with many succeeding, we do not ask if they were one in 135,000 or one in 50,000. They are still just as broken, just as lost."

POPSAfter Obama Rally, Dems Pin Blame On Bush There is no "quick fix". That has been the problem. Patrick Kennedy's blame-game is expected. But please, don't speak out of both sides of your mouth. Coakley's floundering may be the result of reality finally sinking in. Tuesday will tell.

POPSCNN: WH predicts Coakley loss in MA So...maybe Rush was wrong. He said that Obama would not go to Mass. unless he thought she had a chance. I want Tuesday to be over and the results in. I never believe polls.

POPSObama Heckled: "Where were we?"says T0TUS The big news here isn't so much that a heckler appeared at a Coakley rally - with passions this high, it would have been news if one hadn't - but that a series of hecklers threw Obama so far off his stride. It didn't matter to the people who attended this rally, of course, but it's a bit strange to see an experienced politician allow a couple of loud voices to interrupt for as long as this goes ... and then to ask "Where were we?" "C0akley has walked the walk" Really??When???
