POPSNew Berkeley Law Study Finds Enforcement of Immigration Laws Led to Racial Profiling The new report, “The CAP Effect: Racial Profiling in the ICE Criminal Alien Program,” was released today by the Chief Justice Earl Warren Institute on Race, Ethnicity and Diversity (Warren Institute) at UC Berkeley School of Law (Berkeley Law). “It was clearly a fishing expedition. Police cast a wide net to arrest anyone who looked Hispanic for any minor violation,” said report co-author Aarti Kohli, immigration policy expert at Berkeley Law’s Warren Institute. “The Hispanic community suspected racial profiling as the root cause of the increase in arrests. Our report backs that up.”

POPSHispanic Woman Confirmed to U.S. Supreme Court It's great to see so many aspects of our USA government, even hard-to-change institutions like the courts, start to reflect more accurate the composite of the country....a multicultural, secular nation. It makes us much stronger. Prejudice, discrimination, racial hatred are a real drag on a society, holding it back, pulling it down.

POPSIt Can't Happen Here Without the assent of her people, America is being converted from a Christian country, nine in 10 of whose people traced their roots to Europe as late as the time of JFK, into a multiracial, multiethnic, multilingual, multicultural Tower of Babel not seen since the late Roman Empire. The city farthest along the path is Los Angeles, famous worldwide for the number, variety, and size of its ethnic and racial street gangs. Not to worry. It can't happen here.

POPSThanks for ruining this day for me, Barack Many Hispanics have achieved greatness by simply being great in their fields. Race had nothing to do with their greatness. In the case of nominating Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, race and gender have almost everything to do with her appointment. I have no ill will towards Ms. Sotomayor, I just think it would have been in the country’s interest to appoint someone more deserving.

POPSchanging times in europe(i hope) well i hope that her selection will help ease some of the racial paranoia that exist in Europe today. I t is damned ironic that after over 600 years of European expansion and exploitation of native people everywhere. They feel a threat from people of color? or want to deny them an existence in their society? well it just doesn't quite work like that. your chickens have finally come home.

POPSSome Whites Will Vote for Obama Because He's Black
As the article says, This is viewed as a bonus. For more than a month the stupid, make up issues and make up confrontations Media has been talking of the so-called 'Bradley Effect." Bradley Effect means white voters will lie when polled, saying they are not racist but when they actually vote they vote white-only. #1 > This appeared to happen one time, about 40 years ago. In 40 years things have changed. (D'uh), When looking at polls when black candidates run for governor or Congress there has not been any Bradley Effect at all. Zip. Zero. So while the media raises race as an issue, in a negative way; it's not an issue; just a made-up pretend issue, and very negative, implying racism. In fact, as this article says, it's the total opposite. Millions of white folks feel, 'this is cool. This will make every single Black person in America happy -- and it's cool seeing their happy faces on TV talking about Obama." Yes, it's a great bonus, a triumph over slavery days

POPSWhy The Left Can't Get It Right Now: "Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country can do for you." There is well established pathology which explains why Democrats fuel campaigns with feelings, and if there is one uniformly defining liberal characteristic of Democrat leaders, it would be hypocrisy. Liberals protest economic recession, all the while suppressing economic growth with evermore taxes and regulations. Most of them are card-carrying members of the ignoble ranks of "useful idiots," those Western apologists for Marxist-Leninist-Maoist collectivism. Of course, that card reads: "Member, Democrat National Committee." Liberals advocate diversity, unless your views don't comport with their own doctrines of moral relativism. They want to preserve nature and the natural order but advocate homosexual "marriage." They oppose the death penalty for the most heinous of criminal sociopaths, but they support the execution of unborn children in their mothers' wombs.

POPSFeds, Indy Reach Deal To End Diversity Oversight There is a risk that is run every time you begin to change the fundamentals of how government does its job. There has been such controversy this year with more than 10 police officers indicted, under investigation or that have resigned under a cloud that calls to reform the department are being made from many quarters. I'm not certain now is the time for our city leadership to move to end Federal oversight when the Justice Department is keeping an eye on these agencies, and after so many recent lawsuits in the past few years involving diversity related issues.

POPSThe Supremes Strike Again
I used to live in a country in which a handful of men and women, the justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, had the courage to stand up in order to protect the interests of those for whom the promise of America was being undermined by public policy. In Brown v Board of Education the court held that public policy that separated young people on the basis of the color of their skin could no longer stand in the United States. Legal segregation based on Plessy v Ferguson, the decision that created the "separate but equal" standard, was no longer acceptable in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Effectively, the court is returning to Plessy. Reuters reports, "Roberts said in writing for the court majority that racial balancing was not permitted. "The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race," he said." Roberts' logic is flawed. By eliminating policy designed to attain racial diversity from the mix, the cou

POPSPrinceton joke turns bad This article is terrible, even if it is a joke. The name is too close (changed L and J) and the people don't know why he was rejected. I would have thought Princeton students were smarter (Well Bush did attend Yale).

POPSIs Racial Diversity Good for Canada? Sixty years ago, it was verboten to ask if the mass influx of German people and culture into Poland, France, Russia, etc., was really such a great thing. Today, it's verboten to ask likewise about the mass influx of Third Worlders and their cultures into (for now) First World countries.
