POPSSeminoles outscore N.C. State 45-42 What a lame article. It was a fantastic game. Neck & neck the whole time. Ponder has been injured it seems like forever and he got pounded several times. He looked like a dead-man walking sometimes. With 5 seconds to go, no time outs, and NC State working for a Tie, their quarterback threw the long ball. In the end zone the ball bounced around, popping up and FSU gets the interception!!! While I rarely watch football anymore, the game was a nail-biter for this one who is wanting Bobby Bowden to finish well. As the commentators said several times during the game...he deserves to coach as long as he desire and retire on his terms. He put FSU on the map, helped contribute financially to the college, built a strong program, and has been a wonderful mentor to many young men. OK sports fans...signing off. :~)

Also, timber companies are interested in logging the islands and areas where these bears live. For the past couple of years debate has been heating up over a proposed park centered on Princess Royal Island. "Spirit Bear Park" would encompass 265,000 hectares, (1,000 sq. miles "ish"), and provide complete protection for the ten or fifteen white bears that live there and their black kin, as well as grizzlies, wolves, ancient stands of Sitka Spruce, and important spawning streams for salmon. The B.C. government has counter-proposed a 39,000 hectare park, giving the rest to loggers. The clear-cutting began last year. We will just have to wait and see what kind of impact it has on the bears. POPSRemember When? When being sent to the principal's office was nothing compared to the fate that awaited a misbehaving student at home. Basically, we were in fear for our lives but it wasn't because of drive-by shootings, drugs, gangs, etc. Our parents and grandparents were a much bigger threat! The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties. It was unbelievable that dodgeball wasn't an Olympic event. Having a weapon in school meant being caught with a slingshot. Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better. Taking drugs meant orange-flavored chewable aspirin. Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare." If you can remember most or all of these, then you have LIVED!!! Didn't that feel good? Just to go back and say, "Yeah, I remember that!" Here's another blast from the past. After Obama won the election, the media was quick to locate racist loons like David Duke (whose opinions never matter to the mainstream in the first place) and ask him for his two cents on Obama. Democrats repeatedly asked the question “Is Obama Black enough?” when Obama was running against Hillary Clinton. Any association with fried chicken with Obama became a few marchers short of launching yet another civil rights movement. Didn’t like the first lady’s fashion picks? You were a mean, bitter person who simply had a hard time dealing with Black women in powerful positions. Didn’t support the stimulus package? It was considered a “…a slap in the face of African-Americans.”
