See http://www.vermontrepublic.org/. How many Americans know of their right to independence from Washington? Are there any other independence movements in the US? As an Englishman from the Southwest, I am all for the independence of Scotland, Wales and the South West itself. The smaller the administrative unit, the less damage it can do, and the most good it is likely to do for its local population.
