POPSIsrael Will Act to Prevent a Nuclear Iran Iraq would become increasingly destabilized and the existence of the state of Israel will be directly threatened. Consider that, for many years, Iran has made no secret of its dubious long-term intentions. Israel's destruction has long been its fundamental objective. The multi-year international crisis with Iran is nearing its conclusion. Several months from now, Iran will have successfully achieved the capability to produce a nuclear weapon. Sadly, international diplomacy and an ineffective United Nations will not deter Iran from its nuclear ambition. The result is that the world is well on the path to another international military confrontation. Indeed, the ongoing threats from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appear to leave Israel very little choice. In the next six months, Israel will act to prevent a nuclear Iran.

POPSWhich Hindsight Is 20-20? Hindsight isn't always 20-20, particularly in wartime, when early expectations of an easy rout can give way to an unexpectedly long and bloody grind - and when victory has so often been achieved only after persevering through strategic debacles, intelligence failures, and wrenching battlefield losses.

POPSBigfoot Is 96% Possum But that's not the great part. I mean, a half-human, half-ape, or, less crudely, some kind of australopithacine, would be a momentous discovery, of course. But a half human, half possum? That's comic book territory.

POPSNo Justice with Military Commissions Act In 1873 the Kiowa War Leader, MoManTee surrendered to the Army at Fort Sill, (OK territory). He was promptly put into a two foot tall crawl space under the Commanding Officers Office where he was taunted and starved and taken out only for torture. When he was “visited” by officials he was taken out, cleaned up and dress out in “full regalia” only to be returned to the crawl space after the ‘visitors’ left. It was later reported that he “starved himself to death in protest to his being imprisoned”—–

POPSPatients 'free from cancer' after immune-boost treatment The drug, which has been developed by Micromet, in Bethesda, Maryland, was trialled by a team led by Dr Ralf Bargou at University of Würzburg in Würzburg, German. Of the 38 patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma who took part in the most recent study, two of the seven who received the highest doses of the drug saw their cancer disappear while five others had reductions in their tumours of more than 50 per cent. One patient on a lower dose also became cancer free and remains so after more than a year. The results, published in the journal Science, are encouraging because they suggest that the bigger the dose, the bigger the effect.

POPSLA forces businesses to support criminal activity Just when I think I can't be surprised by laws coming out of California, they go and prove me wrong. So they go and tell Home Depot that they must support crime by making cushy quarters for criminals and Home Depot says okay? Oh well, Lowe's is closer to home anyway.
