Beck: Black Obama fans were 'taught to be slaves,' while progressives like Stern are 'taking you to
ratilfar
by ratilfar  11-4-2009
This goes beyond mere coded words and "coincidental" targeting -- this is just naked ol' racial stereotyping of the lowest kind. It came, incidentally, at the end of an equally incendiary attack on the SEIU's Andy Stern -- the day before, Beck told his audience that Stern was "really running our country" -- which he wrapped up with a truly vicious attack on both the Obama White House and on progressives in general: Most likely, it'll happen sometime after Christmas. You're gonna see this economy come up -- we're already seeing it, and now it's gonna start coming back down again. And when you see the effects of what they're doing to the economy, remember these words: We will survive. No -- we'll do better than survive, we will thrive. As long as these people are not in control. They are taking you to a place to be slaughtered! The fearmongering doesn't get much more naked than that. Combined with the race-baiting, that's quite a show Fox News has there.

The Baucus Healthcare Bill You Can Not Believe In
merrie
by merrie  9-22-2009    1
Instead, Baucus' proposed concessions consist primarily of modest financial givebacks to middle class taxpayers who would be hit hard by his bill's proposed penalty on the uninsured. Baucus' original bill appears to be the White House's preferred model for three reasons: (1) it appears less expensive, under CBO scoring rules, than any alternative other than single payer, which Obama has decreed is off the table; (2) unlike any of the others working their way through the legislative process, it meets the terms of an apparent agreement negotiated privately among the White House, Democratic conservatives, and the pharmaceutical manufacturers' lobby PhRMA (headed by Blue Dog co-founder and Democrat-turned-Republican Billy Tauzin); and (3) it may win the vote of Republican senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME), which will allow Obama to claim nominal "bipartisanship" and, more importantly, may set the stage for Snowe to follow Arlen Specter's example and switch parties,

Once Again The Animals Were Conscious of A Vague Uneasiness

It came then to pass that we received those tools. The Democratic president and Congress, and after some finagling even the sixty-seat majority in the Senate. I was advised to watch for the great change to come rolling over us like a flood; we would soon be awash in progressivism. Our boys would come home from foreign wars, we would close our illegal prison camps, abandon torture and rendition. The rich would again be taxed, environmental abuses rolled back, people put ahead of corporations. We would get universal health care. Some of this would happen immediately upon Barack Obama taking office. Much would be in place in a magical, marvelous "first hundred days." What great changes a year would bring. I don't have to tell you there is great and crushing disappointment among those who most fervently supported candidate Obama and his campaign for Change We Can Believe In. We are still wasting money and lives in Iraq. We are wasting money and lives in Afghanistan at the highest rate si

Hell on Earth
ColoradoRight
by ColoradoRight  8-18-2009    2
Look at the defense Alinsky’s disciples are making of the Obama socialized medicine plan as they ask distressed constituents at the townhall meetings, do you have Medicare and do you like it? That’s a government health care system that works. Oh? So why is it going bankrupt? Isn’t that the reason for the new system? This one of course is much bigger, so the bankruptcy will be much more painful and destructive. But there wouldn’t be a need for this “solution,” and the price of medical care wouldn’t so outrageous, if progressives hadn’t devised the present system in the first place. So one rule for conservatives should be this: Don’t be so polite. When progressives propose their progressive solutions, remind them of the hell they have inflicted on the people they claim to want to help — gays, blacks, Hispanics, children. And that’s just for starters.

Chris Hedges: "We owe Nader an apology"

According to Chris Hedges, progressives were sold a bill of goods with the Obama campaign -- empty slogans and no real pressure for change. I don't entirely agree, but I'm getting there. Clipped mainly for this: " he question not how do we get good people to rule -- those attracted to power tend to be venal mediocrities -- but how do we limit the damage the powerful do to us." The Myth of Progress
abailart
by abailart  7-11-2009    1
<<<Solitude is inimical to power, shuns power, seeks its own progress. A progress that is an illusion, enhancing the few and fooling the masses, is for the solitary the opposite of progress, for it does not consult nature or quiet the mind in order to begin reconsturcting the self. But the theory of progress is an old device masking power, and concealing what the 20th century creative souls — and those brave 19th century figures like Kierkegaard and Nietzsche — unmasked as lies about human nature. What is the alternative to progress for the grand institutions of today? It is a devolution to simplicity, to individuals and small social units, to natural industry and exchange, to a relationship to nature based on value and not exploitation or power. The alternative to progress is a devolution of artificial wealth, privilege, and legitimacy.

The definition of fascio
willhelm
by willhelm  7-3-2009    6
It cannot be stated too many times that Mussolini himself recognized the ideas and writings of Woodrow Wilson in support of his ideology. Everyone should read Wilson's writings and speeches about why he is a Progressive. It is startling. We have seen under GW Bush and now at hyper-speed under Obama the rise of Wilsonian Progressivism, which is fascism. People often make the mistake of assuming the hate of Hitler and the brutality of Mussolini and other fascists is the definitive nature of Fascism. They are not. As highlighted in this clip, fascism has a specific meaning. This is where we are today. America was fascist-light under Woodrow Wilson. We are heading that way again. More power to the Fed, General Electric, liberty being evaporated by government/corporate paradigms such as energy, general electric, healthcare, auto industry, the integration of compulsory service and more to come.

Tyranny in a Sentence - Don Boudreaux

I just have to wonder how much of this we will put up with. I know the majority are wise enough to recognize the patterns of history. Why does it seem the world is asleep to the echos of the past resounding louder as each approaching step toward a truly fascist society is created? We sloughed this off before in the last lurch toward fascism in the era of T. Roosevelt, Wilson, Harding, and FDR. It seems we have moved in the last 3 years, since I started noticing this trend, farther left than we went from Teddy Roosevelt to Wilson. FDR was the hammer to head. The wake up call. Thank goodness Democrats of that day were not Progressive and quickly set term limits on the Presidency. The thing is, though, there are so many parallels. People would be served well to study closely the era of these four Presidents, their speeches, the true ideas of progressivism these men preached. Like it or not, Fascism has been making a comeback.

The dirty little secret of progressive fascists

...is that they create the conditions which they suggest they abhor in order to create a need for their own existence. Smaller government creates the conditions that foster growth, competition, increased incomes, the competitive need for a real education, the advancement of individual liberties, the billions of varied expressions of individual self-interest, the growth, advancement, and support of ALL the charitable organizations in existence, and serves as an example to the rest of the world for the success of libertarianism over the mobilized authoritarianism over every aspect of life. It was, in fact large companies with ties to government who advanced the early progressive-fascist union movement which has destroyed education, the auto industry, the steel industry, and practically every other struggling industry. Idiots like Masbury still want you to believe this is about the worker and I have to say, I think Masbury actually believes it because he is too ignorant to believe otherw

The old saying says that only a crazy person keeps digging to get out of a hole. Well, continuing to drill for oil, as the primary solution to our energy problem is that kind of crazy. Excessive, unnecessary energy use, as we have become accustomed to, is a dangerous threat to our national security.

Barack Obama, Bill Ayers and Social Justice

In other words, Bill Ayers et. al., along with Barack Obama, have, working side by side, cultivated the ground and sowed the seeds for the fruit now ripe for the picking. Three years ago, prompted by human stinkbomb Ward Churchill , I wrote five pieces about rebarbarization in the academy. The last one, with links to the first four, was called "So This Is Where They Come From: The Zombie Dispositions." In that piece I described how graduate education students are required to prove that they have absorbed social justice dispositions before they will be accepted as teachers. This is how I defined those dispositions, in another post about "community engagement" at Arizona State University's Herberger College of the Arts: It was century-old Progressivism, everyone should serve the common good, including those in educational institutions; they must do what they can to right the injustices and inequities of racism, sexism, poverty, health care, education, homophobia, the environme

Pelosi confronted at book signing

Madam Speaker was so flustered by our efforts that she barely made a cogent remark for her whole "Know Your Power" talk. Our peaceful action had impact. The truth is a powerful tool. But if only our actions weren't necessary. If only, as Jodie Evans suggested, Madam Speaker would do her job! Saddest of all is the contrast of who Pelosi once was to who she his now. For a woman who was once at the cutting edge of social progressivism, Nancy Pelosi has lost her way. She has strayed from her former social consciousness into the malaise of power. A sorry state for a woman who 32 years ago was a pivotal player in the 1976 Presidential campaign of radically progressive California Governor, Jerry Brown.

On Wickedness

by papananook  8-12-2008    11
Conservatives wickedly play to unreason because being unreasonable is part of what human beings are. Indeed, it is part of the pleasure of being human. The recognition of this is part of what makes conservatism conservative. And it's not going away. I'm reading what I wrote above, and still haven't got to the bottom of what I want to convey. So expect more soon. Trust that I am not offering a counsel of despair. Here, in fact, is a fine piece of writing that gets at why, to tide you over until I figure out a better way to explain that the human reality of unreason does not ever have to be an alibi for progressive defeat, and has, indeed, underwritten many of progressivism's most famous victories.

This is a great article about the transformation of David Mamet from Liberal to Conservative. I do not know who David Mamet is but I find the story rather familiar in my own transformation and in the natural maturity of many as they gain wisdom and perspective. It gets frustrating at times seeing and hearing comments that are based on such lack of clarity. This is more evidence that the natural growth and transformation is toward a Libertarian stance founded in clear-mindedness, Conservative stance on constitutional intent, and Incrementalism as the wisest approach to societal advance in the face of fascist-progressivism.

These failing schools throw kids with no skills into a struggling economy in an environment characterized by social breakdown."

How the Liberal Media Spin Cycle Works

I would never expect the Left to watch this. It is after all a whole 8 minutes long and it is a masterful expose of their's and the Left's insincerity. If you can manage to follow the painfully clear case laid out in this clip, it is after all undeniable, you have little choice but to accept the truth about the media. The truth hurts and for that reason they choose ignorance and denial. Progressivism is not about politics. It is about statist fascism and this clip shows exactly what statist fascism looks like in the sickness of manipulation, political correctness, and identity politics. Force yourself to watch this. Do not fear that it might have some impact.

The superficiality of liberal-progressivism

"Humans in that philosophy are merely bundles of nerves and muscle that respond positively to sensual pleasure and negatively to pain. Intellectuals, therefore, in theory, can structure political societies that will create universal happiness and harmony, effecting paradise on earth. It was this promise that gave us the Soviet Union and National Socialist Germany." Both Freud and Ortega were atheists and regarded spiritual religion as ignorance to be banished by what in the United States John Dewey called progressive education. What Freud and Ortega would not see was that the socialistic materialism spawned by the French Revolution was the true source of civilization’s discontents and the banality and crassness of mass man. "By initiating the destruction of Christianity in Europe, the French Revolutionary version of the Age of Enlightenment effectively decapitated civilization, leaving one-dimensional humans with bodies but little wisdom.  Liberals are not really Liberal anymore and Conservatives are not really Conservative ! Additional excerpt: "In a modified version of the Stoic conception of the earth as a living organism possessed of its own soul, neo-pantheist dialectical materialism declares that earth is “one entire organism…its organs the various races and nations of men.” Not only is the earth alive and evolving upward on evolution’s magical escalator, but so too are history and society, for they also are living entities in a continuous state of motion. And man? In a modified conception of Atomism’s extremely dehumanizing view of man, dialectical materialism states that man is nothing but “a colonial aggregation of cells,” and to “consider him an individual would be an error.” Man---the aggregate of cells--- is nothing but an extension of society, history, and earth. A vast majority of this country is Conservative or Libertarian and we have no party. We only have the Constitution and that is being ripped apart by International treaties on which the people have no recourse. From Article: "I would argue that the most serious threat to the United States is not someone hiding in a cave in Afghanistan or Pakistan but our own fiscal irresponsibility," Walker tells Kroft. "He calls it a fiscal wake up tour, and he is telling civic groups, university forums and newspaper editorial boards that the U.S. has spent, promised, and borrowed itself into such a deep hole it will be unable to climb out if it doesn’t act now. As Walker sees it, the survival of the republic is at stake."

Every year our nation enacts more and more laws but hardly ever rescinds any, which means every year we become progressively less free. I call this “creeping totalitarianism.” "Currently it’s fashionable to bemoan the Patriot Act and wax apoplectic about how the sky is falling, as if it’s 1789 and we’re confronted with our very first extra-constitutional measure. Oh, I’m not saying good people shouldn’t debate these matters; no one stresses strict adherence to the Constitution more than I do. But the danger is that when we stare intently at and stand too close to one piece of the puzzle, it appears bigger and seems like the whole world. And if we fail to take a step back and gain perspective, we won’t see that there is a big picture, one formed by countless prohibitionary pieces." The truth is that unconstitutional and excessive la
