POPSThe internal contradictions of ObamaCare Another major difference is that medical school is free in places like France. Here, doctors go to work with truly crushing med school debt that take years to pay down. Its hardly fair that they invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in their education and could now be told they can’t expect the ‘doctor’ type compensation we’re used to seeing.

POPSNegros Occidental High School In early 1902, leaders of the short-lived Republica de Negros led by former provincial governor Melecio Severino and former Minister of Justice Antonio Jayme, together with George W. Bettie -- the division superintendent of schools -- exerted efforts to open a public secondary school in Negros Occidental. Despite the indifference of provincial governor to the idea, the school -- originally named Instituto Rizal-- was established due to the influence of the American provincial treasurer over the provincial board.

POPSPolitical Essay From The Mind of Einstein Moreover, under existing conditions, private capitalists inevitably control, directly or indirectly, the main sources of information (press, radio, education). It is thus extremely difficult, and indeed in most cases quite impossible, for the individual citizen to come to objective conclusions and to make intelligent use of his political rights. (Albert Einstein, 1949)

POPSOklahoma To Post Abortion Records On Public Website More: Apparently, in Oklahoma, "small government" Republicans are only interested in keeping government out of the private lives of men, and those women who make the personal health choices with which they agree. If you think this list won't be used to intimidate women and lead to violence, you are either a liar or deluded. The anti-abortion fringe has been killing people and setting off bombs for years. Mark me, the moment this goes into effect, some woman is going to be the target of violence, and she will have been identified by this database.

POPSHysteria, not H1N1, taxing healthcare An outbreak of hovering parents nationwide causes the truly ill to wait for care. There are fees for unnecessarily setting off burglar alarms and fire alarms, how about private MD's charging more for Helicopter Hannah bringing in her child during an epidemic of a viral disease which has no cure when the child is merely in discomfort. What passes as "education" by the MSM is often just scaremongering to lift ratings. Maybe a set of guidelines for when to actually seek medical help in a report warning of deaths of toddlers would be responsible.

POPSHall of Saints I pride myself on being an equal opportunity hypocrisy basher. Whether it comes from the left or the right, if it looks like BS, smells like BS, acts like BS, it is BS. Being human I sometimes make mistakes and have been guilty of passing on inaccuracies as truth. Rightly so, I have been called out on them. I appreciate those who take the time to let me know when I am wrong. However, I appreciate it even more when they are not overly combative about it. I continue to welcome their insight into things I don’t know. But not knowing something is not a crime and not possessing a desire to learn is very detrimental to survival, and not willing to learn is grossly stupid. So, I will continue to stumble through life seeking truth but I refuse to participate in the fraud that these three individual do on a daily basis.

POPSWhat Obama Did NOT Tell Children in Public Schools Satire, yet so true, in that Obama went thru the private school route, like so many of the elite in Washington who tout "public education" and "stay in school"--for everybody else that is. It is also very presumptuous for any president to think that a) the schools belong to the federal government (they are state and county run), and b) that the President can by-pass parents and speak directly to their children, for whom they are solely responsible. Only communist governments think the children belong to them, thus a clear mark of the Collectivist State Parent is manifest . This is Marxism 101.

POPSThe far right says Obama is bad for our kids
Wrong. I never imagined the outbreak of right-wing crazy that Obama's gesture would provoke, and this time it's hard not to see racism behind the hysteria. The message is "Obama's coming for our children!" the standard cry against scary boogeymen in every culture. I mean, really, what besides Obama's race could make him so scary to these people? That he's a Marxist socialist fascist Nazi? I'd argue that the only reason those extreme epithets have taken hold goes back to reason No. 1: Our first black president is provoking some outsize and irrational reactions. Especially since, as has now been well-documented, President George H.W. Bush addressed American students in 1991, and Ronald Reagan did so via C-SPAN in 1988. (Bush talked mainly about the importance of education, while Reagan hailed the benefits of low taxes and the line-item veto.) President George W. Bush appealed to "the children of the country" to back the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2001, to no public crit

POPSRacism in Israel - Against Ethiopian Jews Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu characterized the refusal of admission as a "moral attack," using a word often used to describe terrorist strikes. President Shimon Peres said it was a national "disgrace." Despite the Education Ministry's intervention, many Ethiopian students were reportedly turned away today, the first day of school, according to Israeli news outlets. Wearing a T-shirt that read "We want equality, we're all Jewish," protest leader Uri Kabadeh shouted through a megaphone in the community's native Amharric and Hebrew. "Down with racism, down with discrimination," the crowd chanted. "This is leaving a scar on our kids," said Mr. Kabadeh. "It will prevent them from advancing ."

POPSDr.Eugene Narrett Just as promised by President “Obama,” there will be “compulsory social service” called “voluntary” in an Orwellianism Machiavelli would envy in “the Universal State” because “no private and local organizations,” initiatives or relationships can be left ‘outside the circle’ of observation, experimentation and intervention. “Committees of psychologists will argue with committees of moralists and committees of theologians until the citizen’s every last right will be licensed by half a score of governmental offices open daily from 9-5” except now we know they will be open “24/7” and be serviced solely by chains of pre-recorded messages, the voices often digital; subordination of the human for whom the utopia ostensibly is arranged is its point: “to serve man” as the “Twilight Zone” episode suggested wryly.

POPSHumour is an "act of aggression" (continued ...) "Until the sexual revolution of the 1960s women rarely became comediennes in public or private because most humour is an act of aggression, she said. "A study in the late 1980s showed that men use sexual jokes as a way of verbally undressing a woman who rebuts his advances; his humour was aggressive in essence." More @ source.
