POPSSetting priorities Perhaps the leaders of California’s law enforcement community, that has spent so much time and money fighting against any kind of reform of marijuana laws, would be willing to explain this:

POPSThe US is a Failed State In any failed state, the greatest threat to the population comes from the government and the police. That is certainly the situation today in the USA. Americans have no greater enemy than their own government. Washington is controlled by interest groups that enrich themselves at the expense of the American people.

POPSSomething to think about…. 45 minutes: The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32. 1 hour: He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition. No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100. This is a true story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people’s priorities.

POPSHope-n-Change Futures Are Down Across The Board When asked about Obama’s policy agenda, in November 2008 the responses split 43/45 (Liberal/Moderate) while recently the split was 54/34 (Liberal/Moderate). These are just a couple of highlights of the questions and I encourage you to check out the interactive data for the suprising shifts in the publics attitudes, especially the priorities and the policy expectations. But based on the results it’s becoming clearer that the public perception of Obama 1 year ago is vastly different from the President the public has come to know. In fact, to use the formula of the President himself, the public thinking is, “This is not the Obama we thought we elected.” >>Read more http://powip.com/2009/10/hope-n-change-futures-are-down-across-the-board/

POPSTessa Jowell's rich, corrupt husband What is better for the nation, this corrupt man with his complicity spouse, or a wanker who charges the nation for his porn whilst his wife walks around with a police escort and anti-stab jacket? That's Labour all over. Labour in Ashton in Makersfield willl be losing one of the most inept, lazy self promotional MP's in Lancashire and then have no say on his replacement. That's Labour. Blackpool MP Gordon Marden has not a word of encouragement for the family of Andy Miller who died in rge hands of a bailiff as he was demanding payment for a challenged fine for speeding. The evidence of They Work for You shows where Gay Gordon's priorities lie, and it appears not to be in the interest of the ordinary English voter.

POPS20 Tattoos You Don’t Want To Get (If You’re A Guy) I have to question why the title of the clip says you don’t want these tattoos “if you’re a guy”. Does this imply that they would be acceptable on a woman??? Anyway, after viewing these I have only one comment: Get some class.

POPSYou Go Without "Health care has often been debated as a technical or economic issue. That has been a mistake, I believe. At root, universal health care is not an economic or technical question but a moral one."

POPSStop C-17 Earmark Theft by US Senate Maybe we can make change but the US Senate is slow to change when it comes to pocket change for campaign coffers and paybacks by the millions to contributor companies for goods no one in Department of Defense wants. Add to this that troops sometimes have to get relatives and friends to buy body armor for them that the DOD can't "afford" to supply them with and it makes you wonder how some of these out of touch US Senators sleep well at night.

POPSPassing a Shell of a Bill
Right now, the Senate Finance Committee is in the midst of marking up health care reform “legislation.” Due to Senate procedure, what they are actually marking up is a 200+ page conceptual framework of the actual legislation, not a real bill. That means that not only has no Senator even read the bill but, there is a high probability that the bill hasn’t even been written yet. If the Committee sticks to their artificial deadline of completing work by this Friday then they would have passed a conceptual document reforming the nation’s health care system, spending trillions, without ever seeing an estimated 1,500 pages of legislation, which may or may not be written. The current plan is to start debate on Obamacare as early as next week under the following four-step scenario: STEP ONE: The Senate Finance Committee will finish work on the marking up of Senator Max Baucus’ (D-MT) conceptual framework for legislation by this Friday. Baucus has not unveiled final legislation and, accor

POPSThe United States’ Place in The World … and he needs to grow a set via Weekly Standard, Lieberman, Kyl and Bayh, “Whatever it takes … crippling sanctions.” I dunno, I can think of other measures that might be more effectively crippling. Whatever … Also at WS, Steven Hayes, hurtfully, “Speak timidly and don’t carry a stick.” Ralph Peters, NYPost, cruelly: “Appease-y does it for weak Prez on the road to a Mideast apocalypse.” Greenwald, Should any Iraq lessons be applied to Iran? I can think of a few quick applicable Iraq lessons off the top of my head. Whack one tyrant, the rest notice. Also, whacking tyrants effectively neutralizes their ability to cause trouble. Also, follow-on is important, don’t let the Euros weasel out of it, and ignore the Dems and the anti-war American left. They are loud, but harmless.

POPSSkewed Priorities Raise Their Ugly Heads. Blackwater/Xe is one of the dirtiest companies around. They murder, lie, steal and cheat. They have defrauded U.S. taxpayers of MILLIONS of dollars and have refused to be accountable, not only for the money but also for well documented murder and rape among other crimes. And we just let it ride and keep on paying them more. Meanwhile, li'l ole Acorn hires a couple of idiots who appear to hand out questionable advice to a couple of ringers, and man, are we all over it! Instantaneous cut-off of funding and front page rants and raves. In the immortal words of Yakov Smirnoff, "What a country"!

POPSHey Buddy! Got Some Spare Change? A Billion? OK, so it's a dream that I see the head of DOD standing at Pennsylvania Avenue - Gates - asking people walking by for spare change to fund the wars, buying and building weapons, feathering his nest for retirement. And I say: "Sorry, I only have fare for a bus ride to Kabul and back - maybe later. Say, didn't you used to be famous? Why don't you get a job? I say. He get angry and starts yelling, "I only asked ya for a billion! Everyone has a billion!" It was embarrassing - there was some white spit on his chin.
