It's one of those things where you're almost damned if you do, damned if you don't I thought they weren't using Thermerosol in vaccines anymore. The preservative is not in the FluMist nasal spray, which can be given to healthy kids age 2 and older. But it's in many injectable doses, which are packaged in multi-dose vials that require thimerosal to prevent bacterial contamination

Picky Vicki Gourmet Barbecue Sauces & Rubs

by TommysGuns  10-1-2009    1
For the past 5 years I have been purchasing my sauces and rubs from Picky Vicki's. They are one of the few places that offer gluten free, preservative free products. This is such a relief for people who are sensitive to food allergies. My favorite is the Xtra hot sauce, it's great on all kinds of meat.

Respondents question H1N1 vaccine: apathy, fear or common sense?
billpar
by billpar  9-22-2009    1
In the case of the H1N1 vaccine, the adjuvants used are AS03 & MF59, both containing squalene. Squalene is a naturally occurring substance present in human and animal brain tissue. By it’s self, squalene is a “safe” substance, but in it’s role as an adjuvant it can trigger an autoimmune response, where by the body actually attacks itself. In individuals with weakened immune systems this can have devastating consequences. The use of squalene in an adjuvant vaccine in the 1990’s has been linked to Gulf War syndrome and other diseases. Further, concerns are raised by the presence of Thiomersal, a preservative used in the vaccine to prolong shelf life. Thiomersal contains 47-58% mercury which many believe maybe linked to autism and a host of other neurological disorders. Although it has been suggested that there is no definitive scientific link to the onset of autism it has become a very controversial issue and has raised significant concern.

Proof That Thimerosal Induces Autism-Like Neurotoxicity
brightlight4
by brightlight4  8-6-2009
The Genetic Catch-All Many have tried to debunk the autism-vaccine link, oftentimes blaming the disorder on genetic factors, but the connection refuses to go away. And for valid reasons. So far, scientists have been able to link genetic defects to a mere one percent of autism cases. Although the other 99 percent are still unaccounted for, conventional media rarely underscore this fact, focusing instead on the minority link to genetic predisposition. For example, last year the U.S. government concluded that childhood vaccines contributed to symptoms of autism in 9-year-old Hannah Poling. According to U.S. Division of Vaccine Injury Compensation, the shots "significantly aggravated an underlying mitochondrial disorder" and resulted in a brain disorder "with features of autism spectrum disorder." Again, they finally conceded that those with genetic predispositions can develop autism when injected with thimerosal. But industry is still refusing to take any respo

It turns out James Cameron wasn't blowing pink goo-laced smoke up our ass; that stuff really exists. Ban Touchscreen Voting
brightlight4
by brightlight4  5-30-2009
The past several election cycles have demonstrated that electronic voting systems present a serious threat to the integrity of our elections. Touchscreen machines (DRE's) have proven to be unreliable and insecure for the counting and recording of votes. Further, touchscreens repeatedly malfunction during elections, causing long lines and disenfranchising thousands of voters. And touchscreens provide no opportunity to conduct a meaningful recount or audit of an election. As a result, voters throughout the country have lost confidence in the accuracy of reported electoral outcomes in jurisdictions using touchscreens. More than a century ago, the United States Supreme Court stated in the case of Yick Wo v. Hopkins, 118 U.S. 356, 370 (1886), that the right to vote is "a fundamental political right" which is "preservative of all rights." The Holt Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act is a critical measure for helping to protect this most basic right.

Organic Noni Juice
bestblinker
by bestblinker  1-26-2009
Organic Noni juice is grown locally and in natural ways. This means that this product is completely organic and grown without chemicals of any sort. The plants that were bought over from the first settlers did well and now Noni grows naturally in Hawaii. This allows the locals to make Organic Noni juice straight from their own plants, ensuring a fresher, better quality product. When you buy Noni, you should consider where it is grown. Organic Hawaiian Noni is considered superior to others because of the rich volcanic soils it is grown in. Another thing to watch out for, is to make sure that there are no preservatives in the product. Even if there are no preservatives in the juice, some manufacturers add other juices or water. You loose the full effect of the Organic Noni, so it a generally accepted fact that you want 100% pure Organic Noni Juice. The best juice is made from the pulp of the fruit. This means that it is the purest form of the product and is of high quality. You need to b

How much sodium are you really getting?
spirithiker
by spirithiker  12-6-2008    1
Sodium in food comes from ingredients other than table salt, including monosodium glutamate, baking soda, sodium nitrate and other additives; only about 10 percent of the sodium people consume occurs naturally. The American Medical Association has estimated that 150,000 lives could be saved each year if Americans cut their salt intake in half, and the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a consumer watchdog group, has petitioned the Food and Drug Administration to regulate salt in foods. So, we either eat what tastes good one day and eat nothing for a couple of days to counteract the impact or we eat bland food every day for the rest of our 'healthy' lives. Or, we can say the hell with it and just enjoy any food we like and take pills for high blood pressure. I'll bet Big Pharma salivates over this option. Who wants to live forever anyway?

28 Ounces Of Marijuana Was Reported Found In 2,700 Yr Old Tomb
merrie
by merrie  11-28-2008
He was a Caucasian man and researchers believe he was probably a shaman of the Gushi culture, which hails from Turpan in northwestern China. The team of scientists say the alkaline soil acted as a preservative, and the herb was still green, though it retained none of its typical odor. "To our knowledge, these investigations provide the oldest documentation of cannabis as a pharmacologically active agent," Russo told The Toronto Sun. This ancient batch of marijuana was reported to have a fairly high content of THC, the main ingredient in cannabis. They said however that the sample was too old to determine a precise percentage. This is not the first time historic marijuana has been discovered; other locations in the world include Egypt and other sites, but the pot stashed in this Chinese tomb is the oldest so far that could be thoroughly tested for its properties.
