POPSThe Enemy Within Comments on the attack at Fort Hood, is this an example of terrorism or an isolated case? Maybe the tipping point for something altogether more sinister should certain elements use it to their advantage.

POPS Three Accomplices in Terror Plot Identified Prosecutors have said the three others who shopped with him in Aurora, Colo., for the beauty products also accompanied him on an August 2008 flight to Pakistan for terrorism training. By that time, he had already come to authorities' attention. A criminal complaint has suggested that police acting without the FBI's knowledge might have compromised the investigation and helped blow the surveillance of Zazi by questioning a Muslim religious leader about him. The imam and Zazi's father face charges of lying to terrorism investigators; they deny the allegations. As authorities have continued to search for additional suspects, they've issued a flurry of terrorism warnings for sports complexes, hotels and transit systems based on their investigation. POPSColo. Man in Suspected NYC Subway Plot Admits Ties to Al Qaeda
The official went on to say that the plot was being directed from outside the United States. Zazi had submitted to two eight-hour interrogations, Wednesday and Thursday, at the FBI offices in Denver, and he was called back for further questioning Friday. The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force went through Zazi's home, as well as the nearby residence of his aunt, Rabia Zazi. The searches are part of a terrorism investigation that fed fears of a possible subway bomb plot and led to several police raids Monday in New York City. Zazi, who authorities suspect of training at a Pakistani terror camp, reportedly had bomb-making diagrams on a computer that he carried with him on a visit to New York. Zazi's attorney had denied these allegations. His defense team said Friday that FBI agents also will question Zazi's father, though the FBI didnt't say why it wanted to talk to him. Najibullah Zazi hasn't been arrested, and his attorney, Arthur Folsom, says he doesn't expect him

POPSThe Public's Growing Acceptance of Torture is Equivalent to the Suicide of America's Soul If this poll is accurate, I am sorely disappointed. 52% believe that torture can be used at least sometimes to interrogate would-be terrorist suspects? Are we that scared of possible attack that we would jeopardize holding our heads as a proud nation who does not resort to torture? The author thinks its in part due to it becoming a political issue. I think its in part a reflection of how violent America is becoming. The author, just as many others before him have, presents a very good argument against accepting torture. From the article: “I would rather take the risk that my life may one day be lost due to a terrorist attack than stoop to taking actions that tears at the fabric of the American spirit. I may die but that is a risk I am willing to take.”

POPSWhy On Earth Is Jane Garvey On Obama's Radar Screen?
His letter held these prophetic words: "With the concept of jihad, do you think it would be difficult for a determined terrorist to get on a plane and destroy himself and all other passengers? Think what the result would be of a coordinated attack that took down several domestic flights on the same day. With our current screening, this is more than possible. It is almost likely." Sullivan followed up by sending Kerry a videotape that showed the ease with which undercover reporters had successfully penetrated Logan's security screening 10 times with potentially deadly weapons. For three months, Kerry did nothing with the information, finally sending it to the one agency - the Department of Transportation's Office of the Inspector General: DOT OIG - that Sullivan had specifically told him had been consistently remiss in taking action after such warnings. Two of the four planes that attacked our nation on September 11th took off from Logan and 80 of Kerry's constituents died.

POPSUSA Needs Nuclear Explosion to Turn the World Into Dictatorship new mega terrorist act will justify the beginning of USA’s new aggression in the Middle East. The Pentagon started to develop the plan of the new war in April 2006 – the third war after the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan. Stew Bykovsky, a well-known columnist, said in his interview in August 2007 that America needed another 9/11 because the country had forgotten who its enemy was. Which weapon would make it possible to conduct a major terrorist attack with countless casualties and produce the effect of universal panic? A nuclear weapon would suit this goal best. It would not be a hardship to say that a nuclear explosion was conducted by Islamic terrorists who stole nukes from Russia in the beginning of the 1990s. A nuclear mushroom grows somewhere in the USA and the country launches another war and introduces dictatorship. Wow. Russia has a very bleak view of America, eh? I wonder why...

POPSMumbai Anamolies: Police Didn't Fire Back, Advance Warnings This is a very strange, even suspicious, account from a credentialed eye witness journalist. Then next we find out that The Taj Mahal Hotel had received previous warning : The Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai, India, temporarily increased security after being warned of a possible terrorist attack, the chairman of the company that owns the hotel said Saturday. And don't miss this in the manager's account, their "security" did not include guarding the back door! Why not? However, Tata said the attackers did not enter through the entrance that has a metal detector. Instead, they came in a back entrance, he said...."They knew what they were doing, and they did not go through the front. All of our arrangements are in the front," he said. Inside knowledge? Inside help? Would any sane manager (in a city previously having trains bombed in 2006) be so lax, at an international hotel?

POPSpre-election attack? They would probably do so if it helped elect McCain. Why wouldn't they want the disastrous policies of Bush continued. A couple of acts of terror and America brings itself to ruin, great investment from their point of view. They spend half a million and the response costs the USA trillions. When you factor in the all the costs it's clear who's really winning. By comparison the war of drugs is a bargain and maybe a little more effective.

POPSCongressman Alcee Hastings & THE RADICAL ISLAMIC Connection They say, "A man or a woman is judged and measured by the quality of their friends." I say Congressman Alcee Hastings is apparently in good company with this band of low-lifes who all have one thing in common, an ISLAMIC RADICAL & ANTI-AMERICAN THUG named Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, who as you see, came to the defense of... Let's list them for comparison: Alcee Hastings (ousted judge) OJ Simpson Libyan Terrorist Muammar Qaddafi Mass Murderer - President Idi Amin of Uganda The Black Panther Party Convicts Doing Life in Attica State Prison _______________________________ Come'on Alcee, tell us if you've been training under Farrakhan. Farrakhan's anti-establishment sentiment sure reminds me of how you (Mr. Disgraced Judge & Congressman), diss our government officials like you are some militant in black sunglasses, standing at the right side of Farrkhan's shoulder. Coincidence? Perhaps not !

POPSObama's Foreign Policy Goes Neocon--Unjust Wars Will Continue
The real Obama policy. Must see video interview (at link) where Obama 1) legitimizes the "war on terrorism" (as necessary and true war); 2) escalate war in Afghanistan (regime change, like Iraq continues); 3) willing to attack targets inside Pakistan--i.e. invade any sovereign country to kill and destroy alleged 'terrorists' (think collateral damage on civilians or wrongly accused from missiles and UAV drones). Watch the interview, Obama does not answer one "why?" question of Lara Logan about the "necessity" of the "war on terrorism", he simply dodges and assumes its legitimacy without reason or debate. UNJUST WAR is the problem here. Where is the protest? The "war on terrorism" is not a true or legal constitutional war, and enabling Obama to do the same as Bush without criticism is hypocritical and partisan blindness. It has always been the goal to finish Iraq and legitimize and spread the war on terrorism. Note the media: War = Patriotism

POPSWell, duh!
The question was specifically focused on a military response, but Obama didn’t talk about the military, or any use of force at all. “Well, first thing we’d have to do is make sure that we’ve got an effective emergency response, something that this administration failed to do when we had a hurricane in New Orleans,” Obama said. “And I think that we have to review how we operate in the event of not only a natural disaster, but also a terrorist attack.” “The second thing,” Obama continued, “is to make sure that we’ve got good intelligence, A, to find out that we don’t have other threats and attacks potentially out there; and B, to find out do we have any intelligence on who might have carried it out so that we can take potentially some action to dismantle that network.” The reference to “some action” might be interpreted as an endorsement of the use of force, but in the rest of his response, Obama softened even that notion. “But what we can’t do is then alienate the world community

POPSMilitary Conducts Un-routine Psy-Op on Denver Two words: Posse Comitatus. All this coincidentally in advance of DNC convention. This is the strongest form of creating irrational fear about "terrorism", including hyper-paranoid police and military preparations, which could lead to over-reaction during possible convention protests. Pure propaganda, pure psy-op, to indoctrinate and influence the CONTEXT of the DNC political convention. If nothing to hide, then why the secrecy about which branch of the military was involved? They will not answer in depth questions.

POPSWhat Phase Two Senate Intelligence Report Says About Saddam's Hospitality Postwar information supports prewar assessments and statements that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was in Baghdad and that al Qaeda was present in northern Iraq. But now, even in a partisan report designed to attack the Bush administration's credibility, the Senate Intelligence Committee has admitted that Bush and his officials were right to argue that Saddam was harboring al Qaeda fugitives. Both prewar and postwar intelligence assessments confirm their view. And while the Senate Intelligence Committee got this issue right, it got many others wrong. The report is not even internally consistent and the committee simply ignored numerous pieces of information that got in the way of some of its conclusions. Iraq and al Qaeda did not have a cooperative relationship. ommittee ignored the best evidence-Iraqi intelligence documents discovered in postwar Iraq.

POPS Fort Dix Tipster Shrugs Off 'Hero' Title His decision prompted a 15-month investigation into six men, four from Yugoslavia, one from Jordan and one from Turkey, who live in Philadelphia's southern New Jersey suburbs. Authorities have lauded the clerk as an "unsung hero," a title he rejects. "I don't feel like a hero," he said. "I feel like I did the right thing." Although the ordeal, which included questioning by the FBI, felt "like something out of a movie," Morgenstern said the "real heroes" were those who conducted the investigation and our "men and women overseas."

POPSA Nightmare That Won't End "We believe the cause of trying to wake up our little area of the Midwest to the raging lunacy of the Bush Administration's plans to launch war on Iran is worth our work, our paint, and our possible inconvenience. So all this pre-Halloween weekend, we will be at work to stencil as many of these fluorescent orange banners as possible. Then, on Monday, it'll be time to synchronize our watches and hit the Twin Cities pedestrian overpasses. Maybe it's not Mission Impossible after all--it's scary stuff alright but not that hard to do something, to hold a banner and communicate with our fellow citizens AND our elected leaders."

POPSOVERBLOWN: The U.S. Over-reaction to 9/11
You remember about the boy and the Emporer's New Clothes? Well the professor who wrote this book dares to stop the irrational over-reaction and insane wars and put the "terrorist threat" into statistical perspective that no one can refute. Multitudes more people die in traffic accidents in a year and you have (statistically) more chance of being killed by local criminal acts than from "Islamic jihadists that want to kill us every day". This book refutes the fear-mongering and propaganda, and is the rational basis for repealing the anti-constitutional and tyrannical laws that have been coerced through Congress by the mantra that "911 changed everything". No, it only changed what the government told us, which is full of lies. This book also is the basis for refuting most of the agenda proclaimed by the 2008 Presidential candidates (except Ron Paul) who want to continue down the road from freedom to fascism and their global Democratic Jihad for "regime changes".

POPSCheney Appears to Want War With Iran Dick Cheney and Joe Lieberman have been working their neo-con agenda very hard with Bush. Many believe this is why Bush has named the Iranian Guard and terrorist organization. Thankfully, Condi Rice is against such action, as is Secretary Gates. But Cheney has a way of getting what he wants out of Bush, and from all indications, he is being quite relentless in his pursuit of war with Iran.
