POPSCouple Robbed At Gunpoint For Chicken: Fowl Play Suspected According to a police report, the gunman pointed the barrel of the gun at the victim and that's when her boyfriend pleaded and begged, telling the man the woman is two months pregnant. Police said after the victims were on the ground, the crooks also stole the victim's purse. As the gunman was walking away, the victims told police they could hear the other people in the car yelling to "blast him." The victims said the woman had just gotten paid at work and was going to spend her earnings on her 5-year-old daughter, whose birthday is on Saturday. People in the area told Channel 4 they aren't shocked at all by the crime. "It is very ridiculous. It's nothing new. Crime has grown so much in Jacksonville, it's unreal," said Brandy Thomas. Police said another armed robbery took place at about the same time and only a mile away from the chicken robbery. It's unclear whether the robberies are connected.

POPSHow A Rogue Geologist Discovered A Diamond Trove In The Canadian Arctic
A helicopter would drop him off alone in the middle of a jungle, and pick him up at the end of the day. The terrain was so rough that the chopper often couldn't land — Fipke would just leap out as it hovered close to the ground. One day he turned around to face 20 locals, arrows strung. He raised his arms, slowly removed his vest, and offered it to "the one who looked like the chief." By the time the helo returned for him, Fipke was in his underpants clutching a fine array of tribal shields, bows and arrows, and fetishes. "I've got an amazing collection of stuff!" he says, Fipke is a small man with a shaved head, a burnished tan, piercing blue eyes, and forearms like Popeye's. He stutters and says "hey" in almost every sentence. He frequently loses his glasses and his keys, shows up late to appointments, and has a history of spending prodigious amounts of money in strip joints. His nicknames have included Captain Chaos and Stumpy.

POPSIrrefutable Proof This has me convinced. I hope all the good Christians will join us in our condemnation of these blasphemous restaurants. If not, God'll Getcha©. (God'll Getcha© used by permission of the Sarah Palin campaign)

POPSRemembering Charlie Brown Entertaining and humourous article that pays homage to Charles Schulz's Charlie Brown. My favorite :) Like Groening, I too used to spend hours drawing Peanuts cartoons because they "looked" easy. I loved Snoopy! I wanted a beagle before I knew that they were crazy dogs. I owned a Snoopy snowcone machine - which they re-released and I saw at Urban Outfitters. I had thing for Schroeder. Thanks a million Charles Schulz!

POPSThe Last Supper??? Stumbled Upon this blog site and loved the reworking of Da Vinci's Magnum Opus. No disrespect to anyone but look at it in the light of Pop Culture as many of the various artists did. Da Vinci (and other Artists of the Renaissance) were painting the Pop Culture of their day when there was an Inquisition or three going on, the Protestant Reformation, the Age of Exploration and the Enlightenment... OK, Popeye is no Christ but it is interesting, n'est ce pas?
