POPSSwat Team for Change Upon hearing the disturbing news, America's ''Swat Team for Change"--President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid--immediately convened an emergency meeting in the basement of the White House to discuss this new economic catastrophe and to develop an effective counter strategy. A ''War room" was set up to meet the challenge that could destroy the Obama presidency. Speaker Pelosi was quoted as saying, "Living to be 78 is un-American! Old people are doing this because they are racists who hate our black president!" Harry Reid was a tad more optimistic when he said, "This war is NOT lost. America needs a surge in the mortality rate among people aged 55-78, and we intend to implement such a surge in bill 3200." President Obama was shooting hoops and not available for comment.

POPSSocialized Medicine is Great? Prove it!
But the socialist doesn’t really get it until it’s his life on the line. He doesn’t appreciate the “gravity” of the undertaking until he’s hanging over the edge of a cliff, held only by a “bargain” rope. Then “fear, fear, fear” is all he gets from the socialist. Suddenly the socialist wants assurances that something will work. I only have one real disagreement with this analogy. It would be more accurate to clarify that the “bargain” rope in question has failed every time it’s been tried. Because everywhere socialized medicine is tried, around the world or in the United States, you have massive cost increases, quality plummets, waiting periods drastically increase, and access to health care takes a nosedive. Think about it, you socialists: is putting our freedom, our prosperity, our property, our economy, and our very lives on the line really worth getting someone else to meet our own responsibilities–especially when this idea is a failure everywhere it’s tried?

POPSYeah this will work It's a good thing all this high income earners won't be hiring accountants to 'hide' some of this income. I'm glad they will freely pay over 1/2 of their income to the gov't, otherwise this whole ponzi healthcare scheme may not work.

POPSReduced Payments To Medicare & Medicaid = "REFORM" Huh? The pharmaceutical industry is wary of Obama's plan to extract $75 billion over 10 years from Medicare prescription drug spending. The White House said "there are a variety of ways to achieve this goal." For instance, it said, drug reimbursements might be reduced for people who receive both Medicare and Medicaid. The drug manufacturers' chief trade group issued a cautious statement Saturday, saying pharmaceutical companies support health care changes, but that much work remains to be done. An industry group that which represents makers and users of medical imaging devices, such as MRI and CT equipment, was more hostile. Obama wants to reduce government payments for such services. He said the devices are used so frequently and efficiently that providers can spread their costs over many patients, requiring less government reimbursement.

POPS Getting Punked On Health Care Reform Legislation to be outlined next week in the Senate Finance Committee will likely include a new tax on workers with the costliest employer-provided health coverage, officials said Friday, but with implementation delayed until 2013 to minimize any political fallout. Officials familiar with internal deliberations said the leading option under consideration by Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., the committee chairman, would mean higher taxes for workers whose family coverage costs $15,000 a year or more in premiums paid by employer and employee combined. The provision could generate hundreds of billions of dollars over the next decade to help pay the $1 trillion or more the Obama administration has estimated is necessary under its plan to extend health care to millions of Americans who lack it. Cuts in projected Medicare and Medicaid spending are expected to make up much of the rest.

POPS Bernie Madoff: What His Secretary Saw a few thousand. You get comfortable with that, and before you know it, it snowballs into something big.” Bernie’s personality • The way Madoff handled stress was “by saying something nasty: You look terrible. You’re gaining weight. You’re stupid. I never took anything he said to me personally, because I knew it wasn’t about me, it was about him.” • Madoff’s behavior changed drastically in the weeks before his arrest. “He seems to be in a coma,” Squillari told people who walked by his office and saw him staring off into space. He began taking his blood-pressure every 15 minutes, refused to look at his mail, and was constantly meeting with the heads of his feeder funds and Frank DiPascali, “the go-to guy for the investment-advisory business” (the vehicle for Madoff’s Ponzi scheme).
