POPSFreeeeeedom! of Information (National Security Archive) So much information, great site! National Security Archive Electronic Briefing Books provide online access to critical declassified records on issues including U.S. national security, foreign policy, diplomatic and military history, intelligence policy, and more. Updated frequently, the Electronic Briefing Books represent just a small sample of the documents in our published and unpublished collections. A tax-exempt public charity, the Archive receives no U.S. government funding; its budget is supported by publication royalties and donations from foundations and individuals. On March 17, 2000, Long Island University named the National Security Archive as winner of a Special George Polk Award for 1999 for "piercing self-serving veils of government secrecy" and "serving as an essential journalistic resource."

POPSDesecration Science did not prevent me from doing any of this and the microscope and every other tool is just a construct of our immaterial intellects. So free yourself from scientism The scientific method is itself a being of reason and not provable by the scientific method. The empiro-metric method while quite useful for studying the intelligibility of the world comes short when it come to ontology. Ontological question are aided by these branches of science but the empiro-metric view can't be used to prove ontological questions. The three layers of abstraction Metaphysical, Mathematica, and Physica are not at odds to each other and we need to return to the view that theology is the queen of the sciences, though this does not change the importance of the other sciences. Faith vs. science is a silly debate when there is not a "versus" only an "and." By the way I do highly recommend The Science Before Science: A Guide to Thinking in the 21st Century

The capture of the Hezbollah Brigades propaganda expert is the latest in a series of raids against Shia terrorists. Scores of Special Groups operatives have been captured over the past month, including senior leaders, weapons smugglers, financiers, trainers, and cell leaders.

POPSAirman May Receive Medal of Honor The 2009 defense authorization bill contains a section that would authorize Etchberger’s Medal of Honor. It passed in the House of Representatives in May, but still must be passed by the Senate before Bush can sign it into law. This September a monument will be dedicated at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., to Etchberger and the 13 other men who died at Lima Site 85 in Laos.

POPSThe Careful Art of Listening "The rush of shifting wind through treetops. The gurgle of stream water tumbling over stone. The hmmmm and bzzzzz of insects. The piercing call of a faraway bird. These are only a few of the sounds of the living forest. Some are constant; others fleeting. But all are components in a symphony that is not merely unfinished but perpetual, playing night and day. It is a work ever-in-progress worth listening to, carefully. Nature’s sounds not only soothe our civilized souls, but also tell tales of their makers’ lives."
