POPSNoNotes Makes Attending Class Optional The company uses the tagline “you do the learning, we’ll take the notes.” It’s a bit pricey but the having the notes printed out would be great. I remember a cartoon of a lecture hall without students or teacher, instead, the students desks each had a tape deck recording while at the teacher’s desk was a tape deck playing back the lesson. (old cartoon). :)

POPSThe White House Fires a Watchdog
to pad staff salaries, meddle politically in a school-board election, and have AmeriCorps members perform personal services for Mr. Johnson, including washing his car. The curious case of the inspector general and a Presidential ally . . . . . . At the end of May, Mr. Walpin's office recommended that Mr. Johnson, an assistant and St. HOPE itself be "suspended" from receiving federal funds. The Corporation's official charged with suspensions agreed, and in September the suspension letters went out. Mr. Walpin's office also sent a civil and/or criminal referral to the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of California. So far, so normal. But that all changed last fall, when Mr. Johnson was elected mayor of Sacramento. News of the suspension had become public, and President Obama began to discuss his federal stimulus spending. A city-hired attorney pronounced in March that Sacramento might be barred from receiving stimulus funds because of Mr. Johnson's suspension.

POPSBarack Obama Criticizes Fox News: Neil Cavuto Takes Exception aying 'I am convinced that if there were no Fox News I might be 2 or 3 points higher in the polls.' He goes on to say, 'If I were watching Fox News I wouldn't vote for me, right? Because the way I'm portrayed 24/7 is as a freak. I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?' Of course, just because we challenge some of your economic assumptions senator, we say nothing about whether you like lattes or not. Um, it's just putting up with a little bit of the heat that maybe you're not getting in the media kitchen."

POPSAsk Sunday Virtual Assistant - 24 Hour Access I found a very helpful Virtual Assistant site called Ask Sunday that my friends had been talking about and used before. They said the assistants are available 24 hours a day, and have gotten them out of a lot of jams. They can provide Google map directions, order books from Amazon, buy groceries from Vons, make phone international phone calls, and it's all virtual. The prices seem fair and from what I hear the service is great. Definitely need to check it out.

POPS'Semantic' website promises to organise your e-life Although only available to only about a 100 testers, Twine has caused a stir among web experts because it is one of the first few commercial ventures to try harnessing the semantic web. Other semantic start-ups include the search engines Powerset and True Knowledge, and a free semantic database service called Freebase.
