POPSPhysicists Calculate Number of Parallel Universes
Think it's crazy? Check this out, then: To work these numbers out, Linde and Vanchurin looked back to the time shortly after the Big Bang, which they view as a quantum process that generated lots of quantum fluctuations. Then during the period of inflation, the universe grew rapidly and these quantum fluctuations were "frozen" into classical perturbations in distinct regions. Today, each of these regions could be a different universe, having its own distinct laws of low energy physics. By analyzing the mechanism (called "slow roll inflation") that initially generated the quantum fluctuations, the scientists could estimate the number of resulting universes at 10^10^10^7 (a number which is dependent on the model they used). However, this number is limited by other factors, specifically by the limits of the human brain. Since the total amount of information that one individual can absorb in a lifetime is about 10^16 bits, which is equivalent to 10^10^16 configurations, this means tha

POPS"Bubble Universe Theory" The video wouldn't clip but if you go to the following link, it is an amazing theory. http://www.wimp.com/bigtheory/ Now if you wish to know even more, there is a great series on you tube titled the "Bubble Universe Theory"

POPSDo parallel universes really exist? Something to ponder while you look up into the night sky. The best time is a campfire with some friends or family. Interesting conversation... To read the full article: http://science.howstuffworks.com/parallel-universe.htm

POPSScientist reveals clue to wormholes Wormholes would have to be kept open by a so-far unidentified material with bizarre properties. This substance, known as "phantom matter", would have negative energy and negative mass, causing it to exert a repulsive effect. Dr Shatskiy's calculations indicate that as well as "opening the door" phantom matter would deflect light, providing a useful wormhole signature.

POPSParallel universes beguile science Another type of multiverse arises with the theory of chaotic inflation, which tells us that all these parallel worlds are expanding so rapidly -- stretching further and further in to space -- that they remain out of reach even if one could travel at the speed of light forever

POPSMultiverse theory Ops! The first part of this clip-universe has strange characteristic – it is invisible. You have to press “Ctrl+A” (select all) to see this part. Sorry for inconvenience.

POPSDark matter, parallel universes and "ancient lore" The book explains that Mayan calendars note an "exhaling" and "inhaling" period for Mother Earth. Right now, she's inhaling. And that's bad news. "During the years of the inhaling process, prophecy states there will be wars, civil unrest, the collapsing of governments, of nations, of religions, and of commerce." Sounds like the evening news.
