POPSSourdough (Natural Yeast) Doughts I use to bake more and at one point was using mainly natural yeast starters. I've done pancakes, pizza, breads of course,, and even doughnuts. Considering I didn't use a deep fryer, ok, at times a little greasy. But this is a good idea and a good way to use up starters.

POPSDownload Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs tale has been adapted from Ron and Judi Barrett's book, which illustrates a world where giant pancakes and pasta fall from the sky as a scientist tries to solve world hunger. POPSNow They Want Our Feelings, Our Emotions They are breaking us, tearing us down so they can rebuild us the way they want. It's what the military did to the draftees before they sent them to Viet Nam. They've already started to tell us that we're happy. Are we happy?

POPSShanghai Blues - Restaurant and Bar The food is a good mix of authentic cantonese cuisine (dim sum) mixed with regional chinese variants - including, obviously Shanghainese style cooking. This coupled with the wonderful presentation of the food is sure to make it a winner. My favourite dishes include the Peking Duck served with homemade pancakes and the shanghai devilled ribs. The ribs were really to die for. And if ever I have nearly killed someone over food - it has to be the jasmine tea ice cream

POPSShrimp Fritters Once you get your mixture together, check the fritter batter for taste and color. You should be able to see the Old Bay in the batter – if not, go ahead and add a little more. Now prepare your fryer. It is best to use a “Fry Daddy” type, but whatever method you use, set the temperature to 350 degrees. You will need two spoons for this – one to drop the batter in the oil and another to take it out! Remove a large spoon of fritter batter from your bowl, being sure you have at least one portion of shrimp in every serving. When the oil is hot enough, slide a portion of fritter into the fryer and it will rise to the top. (Remember – like pancakes, the first one rarely comes out perfectly.) Once you have tasted your first fritter, adjust your batter, adding more flour if you need it thicker or more club soda if you find it uncooked in the middle but golden brown on the outside. Fritter should be lighter than an onion ring. ENJOY! Courtesy of Chef Michael Mosolino Check out h

POPSNot-So-Great Expectations “Why,” he said, “would you want to do anything more than you already do?” "What a question! What a mind-bend! What a culture-clashing, anachronistic, out-of-this-world concept this had seemed: Know your limits. Acknowledge them. Deal with them. It had struck me as a revelation. The timor mortis explanation is really the only way to account for all the lowbrow concerns that have increasingly crowded out my higher thoughts as I advance in my forties. The weeds choking the garden. The hundreds of digital photos that no one has ever seen. The kid-art that hasn’t been hung. All these undone things, all these instances in which I Fail to Meet Expectations (according to the imaginary report card I update every day), derive their urgency for me from the sense that, if did meet performance standards, then I would be living my life to the fullest."
