POPSBrit Commandos Gun Down Mossad Agents
This evening, I was watching the BBC series MI-5 and it concluded with a British SWAT team gunning down Israeli Mossad agents at the Saudi Arabian Embassy in London. Oh my -- Reality: 'The times they are a-changing.' Of course the Brits were dealing with Jewish terrorist before most of us were born so it's perhaps easier for them to consider such story lines. (Like the bombing of the King David Hotel by right-wing Zionist in 1946) This TV plots was much like that early incident at the start of the Zionist invasion of Palestine -- an attack upon a hotel, like the recent Mumbai attack in India. Pretty good series. Shown in dozens of countries. Award winning. And the chance to be a religious wacko murderer, war profiteer, terrorist, etc. is equally distributed among many extremist groups: Crazy Christians. Evil Venezuela. USA CIA plots. Mossad. Arabs. Basque Separatist. The IRA. Red Army. Shining Path. All more real. Like the USS Liberty will be acknowledge one d

POPSDon't Legalize Marijuana Let's see--the atheists here on CM probably do not like my Christian views, and the right wing Christians hate me for being lesbian and liberal, and I have mixed feelings about the Jewish/Palestine conflict, and now I am risking alienating myself from the pot-smoking crowd. Here's the deal with me. I may joke around about drinking, but you could throw all the alcohol in the ocean and I'd be just fine:) I've never needed any kind of drug for relaxation or whatever and I don't judge those who do need some kind of escape from this world, but I feel alcohol causes tons of problems in our society but quite frankly prohibition sure didn't work. But do we really want to legalize another drug? What value would it give to our society? (and I'm not talking medical purposes here which I fully support).

POPSVolleyball Diplomacy in Palestine and Israel! Well ping pong diplomacy was one of the first steps to easing relations between US and China. Perhaps Volleyball diplomacy will help Palestinians and Israelis to see they have enough in common to work together for peace.

POPSIsrael and Egypt continue to Squeeze the Lifeblood out of the People of Gaza According to the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Israeli air force bombing attacks killed seven Palestinians in Gaza, including three civilians. Since the ceasefire a year ago, a total of 84 Palestinians, including at least 27 civilians, and one Israeli (a soldier) have been killed and another 160 Palestinians and seven Israelis have been injured in Gaza and southern Israel. Israeli forces have opened "warning" fire at farmers as far as 1,000 meters (3,200 feet) from the border. A parallel ban for Gaza fishermen is applied to sea areas beyond three nautical miles from the coast, though often this distance is less in practice. This week, in nine separate incidents, Israeli naval forces opened "warning" fire at Palestinian fishing boats along Gaza's coast, forcing them to return to shore.

POPS Israeli Officers Cancel UK Trip For Fear Of Arrest For War Crimes "Lawfare", what a dumb way to demonize this. After all the law should be fare-fair, and apply equally to Israeli officials guilty of war crimes as it does everyone else. After all, Israel has as a policy the search and arrest of any war criminals connected to the Holocaust, regardless of age or place.

POPSNever Again Tell her, tell her about the army, tell her to be proud of the army. Tell her about the family of dead girls, tell her their names why not, tell her the whole world knows why shouldn't she know? tell her there's dead babies, did she see babies? tell her she's got nothing to be ashamed of. Tell her they did it to themselves. Tell her they want their children killed to make people sorry for them, tell her I'm not sorry for them, tell her not to be sorry for them, tell her we're the ones to be sorry for, tell her they can't talk suffering to us.

POPSHamas is once again very clear - it wants to destroy Israel.... It's a genocidal organization... In a long, defiant speech on Monday afternoon, Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said that gaining control of the Gaza Strip was "just a step toward liberating all of Palestine." "This movement liberated the Gaza Strip with the help of the militant factions," said Haniyeh, referring to terrorist groups operating under the umbrella of Palestinian resistance. "Brothers and sisters, we will not be satisfied with Gaza," he declared. "Hamas looks toward the whole of Palestine."

POPSThe message from Lawrence of Arabia: Watch Your Back From Money and Power Grubbers Imperialists hungering for power ruined what could have been and gave us 90 plus years of conflict that runs up to today's conflicts. Now old fashioned imperialists are gone but global oil, the military-industrial complex, fundamentalist wannabe dictators and terrorists have agendas that don't support an Afghanistan for Afghans, a free Palestine and Israel, a prosperous Paskitan and on and on it goes. Simple solutions for complex social-political issues are almost always wrong and cause more harm.

"While their current whereabouts are not confirmed, what is known about the Salahis is that their past includes a bankrupt winery; a long string of civil suits, some of which involve Loudoun businesses; cars and at least one boat repossessed; a residence in foreclosure; and his elderly parents evicted from their home." In addition, according to the article, Charles Muldoon says he was asked by Tareq Salahi to help him organize the inaugural America's Cup polo match help raise money for lymphoma cancer research through Journey for the Cure, Salahi's "personal charity." The Foreign Connection But other than Joseph Farah's work at WorldNetDaily, (http://bit.ly/8hMmnq) there has been virtually no attention paid to Tareq Salahi's links to Rashid Khalidi. According to the Internet publication, "Tareq Salahi served on the board of the American Task Force for Palestine, where Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi served as vice president...

POPSGive Peace a Chance? Not here, not now, it seems Sometimes I wonder what would happen if the "leaders" in Palestine and Israel went to sleep for 20 years - would the ordinary people figure out how to live together in peace? At the least, they could could probably figure out how to speak plainly about what they were doing and why.

POPSEU Foreign Ministers Likely to Call for Division of Jerusalem The draft refers directly to the situation in East Jerusalem, calling on "all parties to refrain from provocative actions" and stating the EU Council "has never recognized the annexation of East Jerusalem. If there is to be a genuine peace, a way must be found to resolve the status of Jerusalem as capital of two states. The Council calls for the reopening of Palestinian institutions in Jerusalem in accordance with the road map. It also calls on the Israeli government to cease all discriminatory treatment of Palestinians in East Jerusalem." On the issue of borders, the document states that the EU will not accept any changes made by Israel to the 1967 borders unless they have PA approval. The EU, it says, welcomes PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad's proposal of a unilateral declaration of statehood and would "be able, at the appropriate time, to recognize a Palestinian state."
