POPSFox TV - No Shame for Beck Trivializing Holocaust People have been making money by the sack full and gaining power and recognition for generations preaching about who listeners should hate, fear, outlaw, lynch, beat to death. Hitler and Stalin have been joined by Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs and many wannabe head haters - including an ex-governor. In a market-driven economy what's one of the best ways to respond? For me it is to let Fox and CNN know, I am not watching until things change and and recommending the same to others. No Fox, No CNN. No advertising on Fox or CNN. Will they miss me - grin? Only if several hundred thousand join with me in skipping their favorite shows on Fox and CNN. I managed to quit smoking after forty years - cold turkey - so I think I can manage without my local or national Fox, or even the shows I like on CNN until they change. How about you?

POPSWill Dog Fighting Videos be Protected by Freedom of Speech? If the Supreme Court rules to uphold the conviction of Stevens, the law will be reinstated and animals will once again be protected from people who make money from their suffering. It seems like it should be an easy decision for the Supreme Court, but since the concept of free speech has come into question everyone from book publishers to movie producers, photographers, artists and journalists have gotten involved. They have taken animal cruelty out of the equation and replaced it with their own interests that they believe will be damaged if Stevens loses. Even the ACLU has gotten involved. The New York Times went as far as filing a “brief” in support of Stevens. They said, “The 1999 law imperils the media’s ability to report on issues related to animals.” Media publications cite that they are concerned that hunting and fishing magazines will be censored and general reporting on animal issues will be limited.

POPSMen, Women Divided Over Sex Bill From the author “It looks to me as if being brought up with a belief in the literal truth of a misogynistic document like the Bible can inculcate the evil idea that women are possessions, and that marriage is an act of handing over a woman's bill of sale to a man. I thought a wife was a partner, not a slave.” I’m amazed that only now there is consideration of a bill to outlaw marital rape. And the fact that there is opposition to it is simply imcredible. Forcing anyone to have sex is rape, period. And rape is not sex, rape is violence. For a man to seek ‘authority’ from the bible for commission of such a brutal and controlling act defies any sense of humanity.

POPS Obama And Congress Are Crushing Small Businesses
Economist Stephen Moore, who is an editorial writer at the Wall Street Journal, said the stimulus package that became law in February is “like injecting yourself with morphine. It may feel “pretty good now,” but six months from now when you have to pay for it there will be a problem, he said. Brett Parker, CFO of Bowlmor Lanes (which operates bowling alleys in four states), said the legislation known as “card check,” which would outlaw secret ballots by employees on unionization votes, is the single biggest threat to his company. If his company’s labor force were to be unionized, “it would be so enormously expensive and make it so difficult for us to run our business,” he said. Parker added: Our government right now is proposing some of the most radical, fundamental changes in America that we’ve seen in a long, long time, and I think people need to be very careful when they’re looking at these programs and not think about change as a goal. And if we let this president . . .

POPSTop Five Health Care Reform Lies—and How to Fight Back
Lie #5: Obama's health care plan will bankrupt America!!! The truth: We need health care reform now in order to prevent bankruptcy—to control spiraling costs that affect individuals, families, small businesses, and the American economy. Right now, we spend more than $2 trillion dollars a year on health care.9 The average family premium is projected to rise to over $22,000 in the next decade10—and each year, nearly a million people face bankruptcy because of medical expenses.11 Reform, with an affordable, high-quality public option that can spur competition, is necessary to bring down skyrocketing costs. Also, President Obama's reform plans would be fully paid for over 10 years and not add a penny to the deficit.12 P.S. Want more? POPSIndividual Sovereignty Capt A, an expatriate who left the American shores 35 years ago quoted Henry L. Menchen in a comment he posted to a blog on Sotomayer, Freedom, and the law. I myself am similarly troubled by the yoke of our supposed democracy. Like any organism, the United States will do what it takes to survive. For an organism as large and as powerful as the United States "what it takes" is a frightening thought.

POPSObama "NOT FAMILIAR" with the bill
With the public’s trust in his handling of health care tanking (50%-44% of Americans disapprove), the White House has launched a new phase of its strategy designed to pass Obamacare: all Obama, all the time. As part of that effort, Obama hosted a conference call with leftist bloggers urging them to pressure Congress to pass his health plan as soon as possible. During the call, a blogger from Maine said he kept running into an Investors Business Daily article that claimed Section 102 of the House health legislation would outlaw private insurance. He asked: “Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?” President Obama replied: “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” (quote begins at 17:10) This is a truly disturbing admission by the President, especially considering that later in the call, (click on blog.heritage.org to read the rest)

POPSSecond Amendment Reciprocity?
Of course, none of the aforementioned Obama initiatives, or the collection and redistribution of wealth to fund them, is authorized by our Constitution (unless of course you subscribe to the so-called "Living Constitution" as amended by judicial diktat). Therefore, if these schemes are not authorized by our Constitution, then we have an outlaw government, and if we have an outlaw government, then by what authority does that government assess and collect taxes? Our Constitution does authorize Congress to enact -- defense appropriations. The Senate version of the NDAA (S.1390) with its 216 amendments is now being debated. One of those amendments, a liberal effort to expand so-called "hate crimes" legislation, resulted in heated discourse on the Senate floor, including this scolding by John McCain (R-AZ) toward Harry Reid (D-NV): "The majority leader has made it clear that their highest priority ... is a hate crimes bill that has nothing to do whatsoever with defending this na
