POPSStrategy and Planning for Internet Marketing Been doing some research today to find some tools to help my team manage their online business. Found a great site which talks about strategy and planning to help you manage your downloads, mindmaps, ebooks, pdf's etc. Looks pretty cool and I'm adding it as a resource for my organizing and planning section. I don't know Alex Goodall, but he's got some great ideas, tips, tricks and advice for planning and managing your online business. Take a look at his personal site http://alexgoodallinternetmarketing.com/about-alex/ and have a look at the clever mind map he's done about himself.

POPSCan't log in via TweetDeck?
I have had this problem before, but then I was playing with a hand-rolled client, so I put it down to me being a numptie. On this occasion, though, I only had TweetDeck as an interface between me and Twitter... ...when "Not authorised". Hmm odd. So I tried to log in via the Twitter web site. "Sorry we have blocked your account because of too many failed log in attempts" (or words to that effect). ...Wait a while... and try again. Still blocked, so wait again... aaaand finally, still blocked. Go to raise a ticket, only to find out you have to be logged in, so ever the optimist, tried logging in there instead. Success! But TweetDeck still a no go. OK, so from previous experience I changed my password and tried again. Still no joy. When I got the Tweet below from @TraciKnoppe, I thought I may as well try the same thing again - and this time, it worked. I guess something in Tweetdeck got screwed up, but I can't really imagine what - and I would be surprised if it ke

POPS A Fatal Trajectory by Thomas Sowell Yet the only serious obstacle to that happening is that the Israelis may disregard the lofty blather coming out of the White House and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities before the Iranian fanatics can destroy Israel. If by some miracle we manage to avoid the fatal dangers of a nuclear Iran, there will no doubt be others, including a nuclear North Korea. Although, in some sense, the United States of America is still the strongest nation on earth militarily, that means absolutely nothing if our enemies are willing to die and we are not. It took only two nuclear bombs to get Japan to surrender — and the Japanese of that era were far tougher than most Americans today. Just one bomb — dropped on New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles — might be enough to get us to surrender. If we are still made of sterner stuff than it looks like, then it might take two or maybe even three or four nuclear bombs, but we will surrender.

POPSWill The Stimulus Actually Stimulate? "It's unfocused. That is my problem. It is a lot of money for a lot of nickel-and- dime programs. I would have rather had a lot of money for (promoting purchase of) housing and autos . . . . Most of this plan is really, I think, aimed at stabilizing the situation and helping people get through the recession, rather than getting us out of the recession. They are actually providing less short-term stimulus by cutting back, from what I understand, some of the tax credits."

POPSEven Masters of the Universe Get the Blues Fascinating essay from a shrink who treats hedge fund managers from Wall Street. "Each of these patients experienced a sudden loss of the sense of mastery in the face of the financial meltdown and could not gauge their success or failure without the only benchmark they knew: a financial profit."

POPSOptimism and Pessimism The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true. ~ James Branch Cabell, Pessimist: One who, when he has the choice of two evils, chooses both. ~ Oscar Wilde Optimism is a kind of heart stimulant - the digitalis of failure. ~ Elbert Hubbard A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties. ~ Harry Truman A pessimist is a man who thinks all women are bad. An optimist is a man who hopes they are. ~ Chauncey Mitchell Depew

POPSRebirth of Principled Opposition...
I held my nose and supported McCain because he was the better choice than Obama to me. Heck, Sen. Clinton was a better choice than Obama but she would not have fired up the black vote in droves. But I'm ready for a new leader...if there is such a thing in America anymore. I'm not looking for charisma, or celebrity, or smooth-talking, or promises of the moon. I'm just looking for someone who will take back the original intent of our Constitution and our freedoms to prosper by our own labor and responsibility. Is there someone with a passion for the American values that have made us the greatest Country on this earth and made us a haven and beacon for others? I'm not really sure. Good people do not want to subject themselves to the ridicule, the slander, the microscopic inspection of what's in your trash can. But ever the optimist...which I am not...Rush states: "Conservatives are free at last! Thank God Almighty, we're free at last -- to seek the mountaintop!"

POPSGene test could 'prevent' heart disease I believe genetic testing should be an option, not a requirement. That may be a good principle for adults, but the call is for testing to be done on 'at risk' children under 10. I'd be surprised if they could find anyone in the world that wasn't subject to some genetic risk or another. Still, a DNA Database is as good as a chip, or an ID card, and much better than a finger print...but I'm a cynic..or perhaps an optimist with experience.
