Please also continue to write to Illusion Software asking it to withdraw immediately from sale all games which involve rape, stalking or other forms of sexual violence or which otherwise denigrate women.

POPSForget About Gay Marriage...Apparently, We Still Haven't Settled Inter-racial Marriage
On the marriage front, the actions of the judiciary this past week were a mixed bag. In San Francisco, U.S. Dist. Judge Vaughn Walker refused to dismiss a challenge by marriage rights proponents to California's Prop 8, which limits marriage in the state to a union between a man and a woman. This came as welcome news to California's marriage law proponents whose state law challenges to Prop. 8 proved unsuccessful before the California Supreme Court. Ironically, on the very page where this story was reported online, a link appeared, stating that an interracial couple was denied a marriage license in LA. Both articles are worth reading, but the article about the LA case contains quotes by the judge who denied the marriage license. These quotes are shocking in their narrow-mindedness and reek of the same bigotry that the U.S. Supreme Court supposedly put to rest when it outlawed bans against interracial marriage in Loving v. POPSOklahoma Abortion Law: Details To Be Publicly Posted Online This defense is questionable. Feminists For Choice argues, "In reviewing the actual text of the law, the first 8 questions that will be asked and reported could easily be used to identify any member of a smaller community." The Center For Reproductive Rights, former state Rep. Wanda Jo Stapleton (D-Okla.), and Okla. resident Lora Joyce David have filed a lawsuit to prevent this contentious abortion bill from going into effect, on the grounds that it violates the state's constitution.

The Center for Reproductive Rights is challenging the law, arguing that “it violates the Oklahoma Constitution because it ‘ covers more than one subject ’ — a challenge that previously worked to strike down an abortion ultrasound law.” Too bad "because it's a gross violation of privacy and nobody's business but the woman's and her doctor's" doesn't seem to be one of the factors. NOTE: Comments claiming that abortion is murder or insulting women who have abortions or the doctors who perform them will be deleted . Take it somewhere else if you want to have that discussion.
