Reuters reported today that its reporters at the scene had been unable to see it. Earlier, Russian news agencies had quoted transport officials as saying the cause may have been an electrical fault. According to the radio station Echo of Moscow, a far-right group opposed to migrants from the former Soviet republics of central Asia has claimed responsibility for the crash, which has delayed 27,000 passengers. The Kremlin is likely to blame Islamist extremists waging a guerrilla campaign in the north Caucasus. Rebel fighters have carried out numerous attacks in recent months, including suicide bombings, in an apparent attempt to establish an Islamic caliphate in the region.

Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person involved in this morning's fatal shooting, described as a black man who is between 5-feet-7-inches and 5-feet-10-inches tall, and wearing a black coat and blue jeans in the Lakewood, Wash. area. Anybody with information is asked to call 253-591-5959 or 866-977-2362. A 37-year-old Tacoma man, Maurice Clemmons, who was recently released from jail, has an extensive criminal record in Pierce County and Arkansas, court records show. Clemmons is wanted in Arkansas and faces eight criminal charges in Washington state. The four officers were killed at about 8:15 a.m. by a scruffy-looking man who walked into a coffee shop and opened fire. The officers " three men and one woman " were found dead by deputies who arrived at Forza Coffee at 11401 Steele St. S., said Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer.
