POPS Democrats Applauding Their Own Obstructionism
{From Page} At President Bush's State of the Union address, Congressional Democrats wildly cheer their own intransigence, obstruction, and reverence for the broken status quo. Showing their love for America's biggest government boondoggle, Democrats prove, once again, why they cannot be trusted with power. Just think while this was going on Our own Complacency kept us blind to the socialist Take over of this country. The libturdcrats main goal has always been to break Social security. JFK Broke into it for the Race to space expenses and the Stealing from the Social security fund hasn't stopped since. Oh and Clinton turned around and renamed it the General Fund any-way which in essence it ceased to exist and un-savable then.. The real kicker is that we have allowed the social Marxists to Teach our children and strip the public School systems with all Morality for the last 40 years and now this is what we get, "A generation of Social Entitlement Drones.'

POPSThe Dutch Say: Yes We Do... Why is it that New Orleans - a strategically critical US port - is portrayed as doomed and beyond saving when proven solutions to the flooding problem there are readily available? Some New Orleanians recently took a trip to Holland to see the flood control systems they have there. Why does the US look like a broken down Third World nation in comparison?

POPSDealing with an annoying pest If only it was that easy to deal with Republican obstructionism. Those misguided pests will keep fighting for their corporate masters to the bitter end.

POPSSo We Finally Get A French President Who’s More Or Less Onside* * Sarkozy brings France back into NATO’s military command, pissing off large parts of France. Doesn’t look like Sark’s keen to pitch in more in Afghanistan, though. Washington Times iNo Pasaran! blog Jacques Chirac: A "Very Sympathique" Letter From Monsieur Obama Barack Obama and those who voted for him would be horrified if he (and they) had to cozy up to people (but can we only be sure they are in fact human?!) such as George W Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, and Sarah Palin, but the president has no compunction about writing to principled foreigners who opposed the United States such as Jacques Chirac (merci à RV).

POPSRepublican Gov. Calls GOP Leadership 'Inconsequential' Kind of a follow-up to my last post . How's that strategy of constant obstructionism working for you, guys? " has also sparked a civil war within the party between practical, give-me-the-money governors (such as Charlie Crist and Arnold Schwarzenegger) and ideological conservatives who are talking about eschewing some of the stimulus funds (notably, Bobby Jindal, Mark Sanford and Haley Barbour) and a clash between those pragmatic governors and the GOP's leaders on Capitol Hill," writes David Corn. "Good work, everyone. Obama's stimulus has become a wedge issue within the Republican Party."

POPSTentative Deal Reached on Stimulus Between House and Senate Most economists are saying this is too little spending and too many tax cuts, but it looks like it is moving forward in it's neutered state anyway. Better than nothing, but several estimates say the house version would have created at least 600,000 more jobs than this version will.

POPSSteele Asserts Gov't Jobs Aren't Jobs The obstructionist arguments are really becoming insane now. There's no denying that the Republicans want economic catastrophe because they think they can win back seats if it happens. They forget that americans are not as stupid as they think we are. We know who's policies put us where we are today.

POPSTentative Senate Deal on Stimulus The piece goes on: said the package now includes $45.5 billion for infrastructure projects, $6 billion for special education, $4.4 billion to improve electricity transmission and $87 billion in "targeted temporary increases" in the federal Medicaid matching rate to help states avoid deep cutbacks in health care coverage. Among the expenditures that the negotiators deleted was $870 million for pandemic flu preparedness, which Collins said was an example of a needed program but one that "doesn't belong in a stimulus package." See, that's one of the things I don't get about GOP objections -- if things are needed, why don't they belong in the stimulus? Why trim out things that you later expect to pass anyway? It's not like the senate gets paid by the hour. It's all been a rationalization for obstructionism. A cheap political stunt to score points with the wingnut crowd.

POPSReid Says Stimulus Has Enough Votes to Pass Good news. Republican obstructionism takes a hit -- assuming Reid's right. One note, don't you love how Reuters refers to "a Republican procedural roadblock?" It's called a "filibuster," people. Use the word, people know what it means. The media has refused to report that Senate GOP have been filibustering everything . You need 60 votes to break for freakin' lunch these days.

POPSGOP governors press Congress to pass stimulus bill Amazing how GOP members who actually have to deal with the realities of the Economic Crises, Governors, are behind the Stimulus package while those who have only their own political considerations in mind just don't get it.

POPSThey never learn Sure, why take part in saving our cratering economy when it's so much easier to just rely on the same old obstructionist ideological rut that has lost you so many seats in the last two elections? And as for the house and senate democrats, will you people ever find your collective spine?!
