POPSObama Adminstration Invites Iran To 4th Of July Parties . . . . . So let me get this straight. The Iranians burn American Flags, Chant ‘Death to America’ in the streets and kill our soldiers in Iraq all because they are pissed . . . . . . During that meeting in The Hague, U.S. delegates passed an informal note to Iranian officials seeking information about three Americans then missing or detained in Iran. Last month, Iran released one of the Americans, Iranian-American journalist Roxana Saberi, who was tried and convicted of spying for the United States. Obama and other U.S. officials have said they do not expect to see much movement from Iran until after the country holds presidential elections in the middle of the month, but have sketched a rough deadline of the fall by which they hope to see positive responses to their overtures.

POPSObama invites Iran to July 4th picnics I think this is an excellent idea. This is part of what diplomats are supposed to do, throw parties and make polite gestures. We've had eight years of bush /Cheney siccing "diplomats" like John Bolton on the world. The whole idea of diplomacy is so that we don't have to use the army. Which is both currently broken and otherwise committed. Corn-dog, Mr. Ambassador?
