POPSWhen That Hope'nChange Fee-Vah Strikes *Here’s the songlist. Believe it or not, Jake Tapper’s eating crap from the left for blogging this story even though, had Bush pulled something like this, (a) it would be in constant rotation on MSNBC and likely have been the top story on “Countdown,” and (b) the same nutroots morons who are hassling JT would have wet themselves with glee over the hay they could make from it. Exit question: How’d Team Barry forget to pre-load that ass-covering speech on race he gave last year — which, I believe, was the last time he dared to utter a syllable on the subject? Isn’t that supposed to be the greatest work of American literature since “Huckleberry Finn” or something? Way to cheap out on the Queen! http://hotair.com/archives/2009/04/01/confirmed-queens-ipod-includes-obamas-speeches/ * Obama's iPod gift includes 40 Broadway show tunes http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090401/ap_en_mu/eu_obama_queen_s_song_list HT: suitably flip

POPSSoftware for Politics "'Anonymous,' best known for its jousts with Scientology, has apparently hacked Sarah Palin's private Yahoo email account. Contents, including sample emails, an index, and family photos, have been posted by Wikileaks, which calls them evidence that the GOP vice presidential candidate has improperly used private email to shield government business from public scrutiny." Note that there is no easy way to tell if the material on Wikileaks is genuine or a hoax. Update by J : Genuine. privacy, politics, usa, slashdotted, haha (tagging beta)

POPSNovel Tools for collaborative Data Visualizations “When analyzing information, no single person knows it all,” he said. “When you have a group look at data, you protect against bias. You get more perspectives, and this can lead to more reliable decisions.” Those who register at the site can comment on one another’s work, perhaps visualizing the same information with different tools and discovering unexpected patterns in the data.

POPSSummary of the Democratic National Convention 08 With the DNC news the last ten days and all the clipmarkers I follow, I've been Popping and Commening till my fingers wore out. This has probably been the most incredible convention in USA America since the radical days and riot at the Democratic convention of 1968 -- when the Vietnam War and recent killings of Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King had shattered the nation. This time the excitement is for a lot more better reasons and the thousands of protesters are at the Republican National Convention, where they belong. With all the clipping and popping and comments swirling around this I thought that perhaps my web page summary of the DNC might be of some value. It has video links to all major speeches, all live music performances, a few video tributes, a quick clip of kicking out Fox News, etc. -- all the good stuff.
