POPSSnowball The Dancing Cockatoo (Scary) This cockatoo is something else. He dances to the rhythm of the beat like any well coordinated human being with the talent of dance. Watching this bird get down makes you wonder what is going on in that tiny little brain of his. There definitely is someone home. Scientist are baffled by this... see more at this site: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=103629651&sc=emaf and http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8027379.stm original video on Youtube below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYMBIGTteWA

POPSNW Indiana Clobbered By Major Snowstorm, Wind motorist Bill Barany of Whiting, Ind., said. "You've just got to take it slow, hope that the person in front of you knows how to drive." In Chicago the Department of Streets and Sanitation had 184 snow-fighting trucks ready to hit the streets as of 9 a.m. This winter has been especially brutal for the Chicago area. This winter has also been considerably colder than most in recent years. POPSThe Top 10 Weirdest Moments Of 2008 According To Politico Blago eyes 2016 presidential run The 79-page criminal complaint against Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is filled with vulgar remarks and jaw-dropping revelations related to his alleged attempt to sell President-elect Barack Obama’s Senate seat. But overlooked amid the spectacle is this bizarre gem, buried deep within the document: Blagojevich toyed with the idea of appointing himself to fill Obama’s seat to “remake his image in consideration of a possible run for president in 2016.” He’d viewed himself as a presidential contender after winning the governorship in 2002, but much had transpired since then. He had an undistinguished first term, limped to reelection in a solidly Democratic state against a weak field, alienated much of the Legislature and was well-aware the feds were closing in on his administration on corruption issues unrelated to the Senate seat.

POPSTraffic to Porter County Political Site http://reasonbellpundit.blogspot.com Our most successful site this year, for obvious reasons, was our political site here locally. What's been nice has been the traffic levels continuing after the election. Although I'd prefer to see subscribers growing (with 75-85 right now) and daily traffic between 50 and 120. For December I'd like to set some goals for the site: 1) break 100 subscribers 2) average more than 100 visitors per day for entire month.

POPSNorthwest Indiana LakeNET Just found this site today, the blogging links are extremely weak so most of the "5,000+" links are pretty weak old version web 1.0 sites from chamber lists. They do host not for profit websites, mainly due to their funding coming from State grant. My humble opinion is that the board needs some web 2.0 talent, some people that actually engage in social media. The site is pretty but not all that useful yet.

POPSFeatured Blogger I joined the Rembex Webring, thought I'd do a link to each of the other members, randomly, for the next couple months. They all seem to have something to offer to those of us in Northwest Indiana. Today, Eric Haggin suggests some books for investors. Since we too sell duplexes and quads, perhaps this will be handy to one of our investors as well.
