The Spiritual Importance of Twitter - #religion #technology
JICWyllie
by JICWyllie  8-6-2009
On the way to Teillard de Chardin's 'noosphere' and H G Well's World Mind? There is no doubt that another level of reflective consciousness is being introduced. Whether it leads to more enlightenment or more confusion remains to be seen.

Global Consciouness & Data Driven Music
allenmarkowski
by allenmarkowski  7-21-2007
This site deals with tracking global consciouness using the data gathered from little black boxes(REGs) in different places all over the earth. They taken data & had it generate music. Some pretty cool ways of perceiving consciousness. It looks as a race we're learning how to sing.

Mayan Calendar - The Nine Underworlds
JICWyllie
by JICWyllie  6-27-2007
The Mayans are said to have conceived their Calendar more in terms of the evolution of consciousness, than what we would call cosmology, astronomy, or even astrology. Now I admit that the mapping of a scientist's view of the evolution of the universe onto the Nine Worlds might be a tad selective. Nevertheless, it is worth noting how time seems to speed up as consciousness evolves. The other thing to take in, is according to this interpretation, we are in the last moments of a 16.4 billion year cycle which gives pause for thought. One could even see Clipmarks and the World Brain as being part of this evolution in consciousness. Groups of intelligences collaborating constructively should lead to a new level of consciousness.

Doomsday - The Mayan Prophesy
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  6-26-2007    14
December 21st, 2012. I probably won't be home that day, but I'll catch it later on youtube, I reckon. Jokes aside, they say the Mayan (or Atzec) calender is the most accurate ever made. Their doomsday is not so much about the end of time, but of the beginning or dawn of a new age of enlightenment. I think it's worth a gander. ;) This video explains the Mayan calender pretty well. The Quickening
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  6-26-2007    5
The Mayans spoke a lot of "the quickening" of time and we are in the first half of the 21th century now. Some say the "change" will occur in 2012. Are we headed for some sort of noosphere? Exciting stuff, eh? .:D Peter Russell shows that humanity has reached a crossroads in its evolutionary path. Computers, satellites, fiber optics, video recorders and other technology, are the catalysts linking our planet into one, worldwide community - a "global brain". This technology, combined with a the rapidly growing human potential movement, is helping to create a collective consciousness that is humanity's only hope of saving it from itself. However, Russell warns if we continue on our current path of greed and destruction, humanity will serve only as a planetary cancer.

Consciousness, quantum physics and the link between the two. "How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go?" Check out this link too, to see some more images taken by Mr Emoto, mentioned in the film and here's a link that explains the theories, by Dr John Hagelin

The results are in! Ha ha! Oh well, no harm done in them trying, I guess! .:D The indication that this was a GCP project was overenthusiastic..... but the positive intent and good humor was obvious. Apparently this experiment all started here: Global Orgasm Here's a cartoon I found too: The G.O.P's New Strategy

Fact or myth? I find this stuff fascinating. When I checked out the display at Princeton, it was beeping and gonging like crazy. I wonder if that's a bad sign? http://noosphere.princeton.edu/bsktobsrv/nishith/basketobserver.html

Noosphere--The Sphere of Human Thought

by pencilsandpixels  3-23-2007    1
I am, frankly, very surprised that I have never come across this term before, seeing the diversity of my book and web reading. It is an interesting concept and a fitting compliment to Jung's theory of the Universal Consciousness.

The "Noosphere" - Teilhard de Chardin's vision for the Internet
egoldstein
by egoldstein  12-15-2006    4
Is Chardin's vision of the "global network of collective mind" being realized today via the World Wide Web? Can Clipmarks play a role in the creation of a global brain? Great questions to ponder with some red wine on a friday night.
