POPSDoomsday Called Off I still gotta believe that any pollutants inserted into the atmosphere cause problems for "earthlings" I guess I'll watch it now..... Now serious criticism has arisen from a number of heavyweight independent scientists. They argue that most of the climatic change we have seen is due to natural variations. They also state that if CO2 is to play a role at all -it will be minuscule and not catastrophic!

POPSSeafood Dinner In The Age of Obama Federal Reserve's move to print money shows perilous policy failure Michael Stutchbury, Economics editor THE AUSTRALIAN IT'S an ominous day when the world's economic superpower starts printing money to buy its own government's debt. "Who's going to buy the bonds?" Paul Keating asked two weeks ago. Who would finance a US budget deficit forecast to swell to $US1.7 trillion ($2.5trillion) thisyear? Now US Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke has revealed part of the answer: the central bank itself will buy $US300 billion of US Treasury bonds and pay for them by electronically printing the money. The extraordinary move immediately pushed down long-term US interest rates, which set the benchmark for mortgage rates in the nation. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/business/story/0,28124,25212624-643,00.html

POPSMarine's Narrow Escape From Death In Afghanistan
Dramatic photos show a Marine's narrow escape from death Sunday while facing insurgent gunfire in Afghanistan. The Marine, part of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), was exchanging gunfire with Taliban fighters near Garmser in Afghanistan's Helmand Province when a Reuters photographer captured the soldier's very close call. “The insurgents are finding that every time they engage with the Marines, they lose,” Col. Peter Petronzio, commander of the 24th MEU, said in a statement issued May 10. “The Marines are gaining ground every day and securing more of the routes through the district. The support we have received from our allied partners has contributed to our many successes thus far.” "Definitely they are putting resistance in the area because Garmser is very important for them," Gen. Carlos Branco, a spokesman for NATO. Branco told the AFP that the insurgents had suffered "heavy" losses. Click here to read the AFP's story at News.com.au.

POPS11-Year-Old Gives STD to Two Preschool Girls You know something is wrong with this world when an 11 year-old, not only is having sex, but is raping young girls and knowingly infecting them with STD's! What message is being sent to the people of their community when their senior police/government isn't holding him responsible for the crime that he committed? And where are his parents? This kid needs some serious help as do the girls! Regarding the senior police/police department, they are clearly lacking basic common judgment skills. A "health matter"!!!!!!!??? Someone please tell me I read that wrong!!!!!!
