POPSAncient Mayans Had Sophisticated Water Systems "Perhaps the earliest known example of the intentional creation of water pressure was found on the island of Crete in a Minoan palace dating back to roughly 1400 BC. In the New World, the ability to generate water pressure was previously thought to have begun only with the arrival of the Spanish... " "There is a widely held view that the Maya were not necessarily great engineers because their buildings were relatively simple," French told LiveScience. "But in regards to water management their engineering expertise was by all accounts very impressive."

POPSHuge Majority Support Offshore Drilling The opposition is not based on the logic of drilling but on a desire to strangle domestic production to drive up the price of energy so they can invest in "magic" energy that will supposedly create millions of green jobs and not be based on carbon. These people are out of touch with voters and the GOP needs to do a better job of pushing the issues so that the Democrats will eventually pay a political price for their obstruction of energy production. POPSNew Antioxidant Combo Provides Numerous Health Benefits
Ok, now unlike that ridiculous Tastans food sprinkle-thingy I wrote about recently, here's a product that might actually be worth thinking about. It's called Proleva, manufactured here in good-ole California, and it is a unique combination of antioxidants. According to researchers, a single dose of Proleva (and it's taken only once per day) contains the antioxidants found in eight of the most powerful superfruits, antioxidants that have been shown to increase eye sight, improve your immune system, support your cardiovascular health, boost short term memory, increase brain function and return the youthful glow to your skin and hair. I feel better about a health product such as this one, as opposed to one like "Tastans" which seems tailor-made to encourage U.S. eaters to maintain already unhealthy eating habits. By contrast, it is well-known that people in the U.S., for a variety of reasons, do not get enough antioxidants in our diet. Proleva might be worth looking into.

POPSThe Neoconservative Resurgency With Obama--Neoconservativism 2.0 Well documented article worth reading entirely. Then there is this article too : That must be the meaning of change. The goal was not to restore the rule of law and constitutional legitimacy, but to transcend the Bush administration's cowboy unilateralism and tactfully reassert a neo-conservative normalcy in America's foreign policy. And this more recent article: ‘No change from Bush to Obama', say Neocons and Liberals 16 Sep 2009 American foreign policy under Barack Obama has not changed course after the Bush years, according to a group of prominent commentators from both sides of the political divide. (except for the breaking missile shield policy)...from a UK media source. Yet the U.S. Media are absolutely silent.

POPSDivide and Rule (divide et impera)
It is one of the principal tasks of all those with influence within the anti-Establishment movement to expose the strategy of divide et impera. International, national and local leaders, writers and ordinary radicals all have a role to play in educating themselves and others about this strategy, how it has been used in the past, how it is currently being used, and how to counter it. The simple act of drawing attention to it can reduce its effectiveness by creating an awareness of the importance of unity and the dangers of bickering and disunity. Much is at stake. The technological resources of the New World Order are such that if it achieves hegemony over all the earth it will be difficult or impossible to reverse the situation. A global concentration and entrenchment of imperial power will ensue that will dwarf every other tyranny that the world has ever known. Look at where we are now, In my lifetime, I have never seen our country so divided! Left vs Right, black vs white.

POPS Van Jones: A (mis)Leader ’Til The End But let’s look at his parting shot and, as they say in the streets of middle America, break it down. 1. opponents of reform There’s a loaded phrase, eh? Because the key word here is reform. By that can we assume he meant the changing of the “whole system” from the ground up? “We gonna change the whole thang.” By reform is he talking about changing our existing American system of government to bypass elected officials almost entirely by appointing czars surreptitiously, for the very purpose of avoiding any usual vetting process? Is he referring to the dismantling of our Capitalistic society in order to “give” jobs to the “chronically unemployed?” Are black people currently prevented from going to school? Prevented from applying for jobs? Doing the work of building this hallowed new system of gleaming clean energy? 2. vicious smear campaign Here he is most likely referring to Glenn Beck and Fox News, for having the journalistic sensibility to

POPSWikipedia Will Limit Changes on Articles About Living People
“We are no longer at the point that it is acceptable to throw things at the wall and see what sticks,” said Michael Snow, a lawyer in Seattle who is the chairman of the Wikimedia board. “There was a time probably when the community was more forgiving of things that were inaccurate or fudged in some fashion — whether simply misunderstood or an author had some ax to grind. There is less tolerance for that sort of problem now.” The new editing procedures, which have been applied to the entire German-language version of Wikipedia during the last year, are certain to be a topic of discussion this weekwhen Wikipedia’s volunteer editors gather in Buenos Aires for their annual Wikimania conference. Much of the agenda is focused on the implications of the encyclopedia’s size and influence. Although Wikipedia has prevented anonymous users from creating new articles for several years now, the new flagging system crosses a psychological Rubicon. It will divide Wikipedia’s contributors into t

POPSEarly life united “We’ve known about the gram-negative bacteria for three scientific generations. We’ve been staring at them for a hundred years, and we never realized how they came about or what made them so different,” said Lake. “Without them, we wouldn’t have eukaryotes as we do today.”According to Lake, the union likely took the form of endosymbiosis, in which one of the prokaryotes literally swallowed the other, and the two grew together. Were mammals derived from a union of insect and amphibian, the story-of-life rearrangement would be comparably profound.

Reading about the bill in one of the great social chasms of our time, it is clear to see that common ground is key.

POPSThe Emerging Lie Have you heard of the Emergent Church? The Shift? Can you trust today's new evangelical leaders? Some are attempting to morph the evangelical platform into messages that deny the basics of Christian doctrine. It's often anti-God, anti-Bible, anti-truth. More interested in trends and politics than in obedience to God, they are attempting to sway evangelical opinion using propaganda and "divide and conquer" techniques. This is apostasy, a clear "falling away" and it is radically changing what some people believe. Sadly, these pastors and celebrities are not trustworthy representatives of Jesus Christ, no matter how clever and persuasive they may seem. Discover the liberal left's new agenda: not God's truth, but faith-based politics.
