POPS Not Liked Enough In fairness to Obama, though, it’s a pretty lame message from the cave-dweller. Despite the recent bombings in Iraq, violence is still significantly down, Iraq is a functioning democracy, the security forces are increasingly capable, and the pullout is on track … thank you, George Bush. If Osama wants to needle Obama and show he’s really hip and with it, he’ll poke him over the Afghanistan thing. A little timely al Qaeda crowing is exactly what the surrender enthusiasts in Washington DC need right now to put them in full retreat. You know, “How do you like your good war now, infidels? Run, it’s what you do best!” Something like that. Remember when he had his No. 2 admonish the Dems for failing to surrender fast enough in Iraq, and they redoubled their efforts? Now that Bush is out of the way, it’s a great opportunity for Osama to revive his favorite old theme from back in the day. Americans have no stomach for a fight, and will bolt if you give them a bloody nose.

POPSWillard Wigan Indescribable ! I say indescribable, because I don't want to limit my vocabulary of adjectives to wow! The man is illiterate, but a genius just the same. An artistic genius, but I wonder that if someone had taken the time to try and educate him if he would not have become a great surgeon, perhaps the greatest surgeon of our day. Please view the video.

POPSThe Pain of Avoidance Why do we run from unpleasant thoughts and feelings? We willingly bear with the pain of an immunization shot because we "know" it's good for us and the pain will pass. Can we similarly deal with emotional pain the way we would the pain of a needle?

POPSLabour millionaire rogue employer? Barbara Follett looks as though she is trying to pull Employment legislation through the Eye of a Needle. Are there really Human Being out there who endorse the corrupt ideals of this immoral Labour Party? Hopefully not, but how often have you heard that the electorate cannot support you because..."my father always voted Labour and he would turn in his grave..."? Let us hope that there are sufficient free thinkers from the Red Mist to be able to stand next to their parents graveside and tell the truth. "Dad, this lot has destroyed every vestige of decency you fought for. I cannot support them.

POPSHow Tattoos Work The tattoo machine has remained relatively unchanged since its invention by Samuel O'Reilly in the late 1800s. O'Reilly based his design on the autographic printer, an engraving machine invented by Thomas Edison. Edison created the printer to engrave hard surfaces. O’Reilly modified Edison’s machine by changing the tube system and modifying its rotary-driven electromagnetic oscillating unit to enable the machine to drive the needle.

POPSGenetically engineered cells make their own nanomagnets, providing clear MRI images. If genetically engineering cells to produce their own magnetic nanoparticles proves successful, this provides a new window through which to view many biological processes as they unfold, from the formation of tumors to the migration of stem cells injected to treat disease. "It's just amazing that they can get a mammalian cell to actually make the material," says Lee Josephson, an associate professor at the Harvard Medical School's Center for Molecular Imaging Research. "I think it's a really meaningful piece of work."

POPSNanotubes give pre-cancer symptoms in mice Every silver lining has a cloud behind it. There are perhaps thousands of prospective uses for nanotubes, from medicine to engineering. We may have to work out exactly where the line is. Asbestos was once considered an essential fire retardant. After the dangers that have been discovered recently, we've found that there are very few places it can be used safely. Asbestos is inorganic, and will not break down, however Carbon is the basis for organic chemicals, with which we are more likely to be compatible. There will be places that nanotubes will not break down quickly. Perhaps not until long after we are dead. Maybe there is a microorganism natural, or designed, that will clean them up. Meanwhile it's good the alarm bells have started to ring early, so, now wary of the dangers, we can do more specific investigation and learn exactly where they are safe to use. If there are any doubts they should be resolved first

POPSA scarf made to look like bacon! What a great idea! Made of "21.5 micron merino wool" for that luxurious, bacon-on-skin feeling. Unfortunately it's sold out. The creator's comments: "It looks like a real slice of bacon, with all the striations of fat and meat.... Seriously, do a search on 'bacon scarf' and look at the other bacon scarves out there. They use a paltry two colors, and they don’t look as realistic as this!" Wow... The stuff you find on Twitter...

POPSTattoos in Medicine Dr Martin Mueller, one of the researchers behind this work, says that the greater damage to the body caused by the tattoo needle may explain the better immune response.
