POPSIsrael Says It Seized Iranian Arms Shipment for Hezbollah Israel says it seized Iranian arms shipment for Hezbollah November 4 By David Buimovitch (AFP) " 15 hours ago ASHDOD, Israel " Israel said on Wednesday that commandos had intercepted a ship carrying "hundreds of tonnes" of arms from Iran to Hezbollah in a raid dozens of miles off its coast but both Iran and Syria denied the cargo was headed to the Lebanese militia. "We found dozens of containers, with hundreds of tonnes of arms bound for Hezbollah from Iran," Israeli deputy naval commander Rani Ben Yehuda told reporters. The shipment was among the largest ever seized by Israel, dwarfing the 50 tonnes of weapons found aboard the Karine A seized in 2002 on its way to Gaza, which dealt a major blow to relations between the Palestinians and Washington. At the Mediterranean port of Ashdod, soldiers pulled hundreds of olive-green ammunition crates from shipping containers, many of them concealed by sacks of cement.

Born in 1947, the son of a diplomat, Kaiser spent his childhood in three capital cities: Washington D.C. , Albany , New York , and Dakar , Senegal .. He attended Harvard University , graduating there in 1969 with a B.A. in history. He then spent several years more at Harvard, gaining a PhD in history, which he obtained in 1976. He served in the Army Reserve from 1970 to 1976. He is a professor in the Strategy and Policy Department of the United States Naval War College. He has previously taught at Carnegie Mellon, Williams College and Harvard University . Kaiser's latest book, The Road to Dallas, about the Kennedy assassination, was just published by Harvard University Press.

This is a reasonable summary of the Iranian president's speech. Surprises? He says he wants to see the elimination of all WMD's -- and this would be a surprise if you believe propaganda that he wants nuke weapons and turn a blind eye to the fact that Israel has WMD's. 2. He doesn't want to drive Israel into the sea (more false propaganda). He wants a two-state solution. 3. He thinks the slow starvation of a million and a half people in the Gaza Strip is genocide. (This led to the walkout of many). 4. He doesn't deny the Holocaust (never has) but continues to annoy Zionist by asking why this is a topic of special concern to Arabs and Iran, pointing out there have been other great massacres and genocides and that 60 million were killed in WWII and he's sorry about all of that. 5. Colombia says the US forces will help in the war against drugs and left-wing guerrillas and will not destabilise the region.
