Wall Street's Disaster Has Spawned Our Greatest Terrorist Threat
foxyarse
by foxyarse  9-5-2009    1
It turns out that Wall Street, rather than Islamic jihad, has produced our most dangerous terrorists. We will see accelerated plant and retail closures, inflation, an epidemic of bankruptcies, new rounds of foreclosures, bread lines, unemployment surpassing the levels of the Great Depression and, as Blair fears, social upheaval.

True, the president showed up at the CIA a few days later to reassure Mr. Panetta's demoralized troops. Don't "be discouraged" that you've "made mistakes," the president said, smiling, as Mr. Panetta stood grimly by. "That's how we learn." Mr. Obama vowed to be "vigorous in protecting" the organization. Later, at the White House, he announced plans to release photos showing detainee abuse"at the demand of the ACLU. Then came House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's full-frontal assault, claiming the agency had lied to her about waterboarding. This would have been an excellent time for some "vigorous" protection of the CIA, since agency documents flatly contradict the speaker. But with his domestic agenda in the hands of Congress, the White House was mum. It showed equal interest in defending Mr. Panetta against the threat of congressional investigations. This week the White House visited on the CIA director what ranking Senate Intelligence Committee member Kit Bond declared a "hat trick"

Because that’s what our nation needs right now. When war and a dire economy just aren’t enough. Sounds kind of like Congress may also prefer sticking him with the blame for whatever happens. It’s worked pretty well so far on the economic thing. Anyway, sounds like a national waterboarding. Should also really help next time they want covert operators to do some dirty job that needs to be done, and they assure them the lawyers have gone over it, it’s OK.

"Tiananmen Square Massacre was Right" Nat Intel Council head

Obama's nominee to head the National Intelligence Council, former Saudi lobbyist, wrote that China's crackdown in the Tiananmen Square Massacre didn't go nearly far enough. It's scary that a man who justifies the brutal massacre of student protesters will now head the National Intelligence Council. http://reason.com/blog/show/131843.html

Wall Street's Disaster Has Spawned Our Greatest Terrorist Threat
glennbah
by glennbah  2-17-2009    1
The specter of social unrest was raised at the U.S. Army War College in November in a monograph titled "Known Unknowns: Unconventional 'Strategic Shocks' in Defense Strategy Development." The military must be prepared, the document warned, for a "violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States," which could be provoked by "unforeseen economic collapse," "purposeful domestic resistance," "pervasive public health emergencies" or "loss of functioning political and legal order."

US Intelligence Releases 'Trends 2025 Report'

by blueridge  12-19-2008    2
World government and "decline of democracy". Actually, if one looks at the "think tanks" who comprised this (and released by National Intel headed by McConnell, who is a neoconservative), it is THEIR BLUEPRINT, not a projecting of what might happen, thus a self-fulfilling prediction. Obama is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, one of the key think tanks involved in this report and the American Enterprise Institute is stacked with militant Zionists and neoconservatives too. The Atlantic Council is a world government organization, with ties back to Clarence K. Streit who published the blueprint for a PAX AMERICANA or World Federation of Democracies in 1941. They point to possible nuclear war between Pakistan and India (being sparked by Mambia now) and a Pandemic where tens to hundreds of millions of Americans within the US Homeland would become ill and deaths would mount into the tens of millions,”

The Spies who love Obama
BobbyRutan
by BobbyRutan  9-28-2008    1
The world is a very complicated place and there are not always easy solutions to a lot of the problems out there," says John Brennan, a top Obama intelligence advisor and former senior CIA official who co-founded the Terrorist Threat Integration Center and the National Counterterrorism Center, a post-9/11 effort to integrate the US government's terror threat intelligence. "If you look at the world in black and white, you miss a lot of the subtleties out there. 'Either with us or against'—the world is not divided into good and evil a lot of time. Despite America's military might, a lot of these problems do not lend themselves to kinetic solutions"—i.e. the use of force. And world dynamics are likely to get more complicated and nuanced, not less, by 2025. "It's time to update our national security strategy to stay one step ahead of the terrorists," Obama said at Indiana's Purdue University. "It's time to look ahead—at the dangers of today and tomorrow rather than those of yesterday.

National Security Archive reports the Bush-Cheney White paper "justifying" the invasion was developed a full three months in advance of the intelligence data and analysis that should have served as the basis for that justification; then doctored NIE report to agree with their own White Paper. Only imminent threat mentioned was the possibility of Iraqi terrorism in USA if Saddam regime was threatened - but Bushco deleted it before giving the report to Congress.

US Intel: Iranian nuclear strike on U.S. ?
willhelm
by willhelm  7-30-2008    33
“The only explanation we can find is that Iranians are figuring out how to launch a missile from a ship and get it up to altitude and then detonate it,” “And that’s exactly what you would do if you had a nuclear weapon on a Scud or a Shahab-3, and you wanted to explode it over the US.” "If a crude nuclear weapon were detonated anywhere between 40 kilometers to 400 kilometers above the earth, in a split-second it would generate an electro-magnetic pulse that would cripple military and civilian communications, power, transportation, water, food, and other infrastructure" Asked how many Americans would die if Iran were to launch the EMP attack it appears to be preparing, Graham gave a chilling reply. “You have to go back into the 1800s to look at the size of population” that could survive in a nation deprived of mechanized agriculture, transportation, power, water, and communication. “70 to 90 percent of the population would not be sustainable after this kind of attack”.

Olbermann Catches Hillary/Obama in Neocon Talk for New Middle East

They both shilled for neocon propaganda, contrary to the most recent National Intel Estimate which says that Iran has been deterred on nukes, and Hillary proposed a middle east "umbrella" (read NATO-like alliance) for military intervention, very similar to McCain's. There is no real choice, in foreign policy, or big spending, in the 3 candidates. WARS will continue, and here is the evidence. Both shill for Israel blatantly. (Hillary: 'Oh Israeli Lobby--please let me be President, listen to my hawkish war speak on defense of Israel and against Iran, despite the lack of evidence!')

China Has Provided IAEA With Intel On Iran's Nuke Program

VIENNA, Austria — China, an opponent of harsh U.N. Security Council sanctions against Iran, has nonetheless recently provided the International Atomic Energy Agency with intelligence linked to Tehran's alleged attempts to make nuclear arms, diplomats have told The Associated Press. In a summary recently forwarded to the AP, the National Council of Resistance of Iran, an opposition group that claims to have informants inside the Iranian government, identified three others as Revolutionary Guard commander Fereydoon Abbasi, Seyed Jaber Safdari and Mohammed Mehdi Nejad-Nouri. It said the three and others are involved in clandestine nuclear weapons-related research at three Iranian universities: Beheshti; Malek Ahstar and Imam Hossein. Asked for verification, a senior diplomat of an IAEA member state said that a fact check run by his country's relevant agency showed the claims to be generally accurate. Another senior diplomat also said the information appeared to be fairly reliabl

Bin Laden to Address America, "Stay Tuned" Says Neocon Propaganda Front
blueridge
by blueridge  3-19-2008
SITE is a neocon propaganda front. If you or I posted any messages or videos the government would find you in a New York minute. Not so with the (convenient) phantom bin Laden (who has been dead since Dec. 2001 in truth). Really, if SITE has tapped into a genuine Al Qaeda or terrorist message board, then 1) why can't the U.S. spy agencies ($40 billion-plus in expenditures) not trace to its source, and 2) why does the CIA or National Intel director never report this officially, instead of a (private, neocon-linked) extra-governmental agency, and 3) why does it always (without government censorship) make MSM news coverage? THINK! I challenge those who believe this propaganda to answer these three questions.

Bush Knew Iran Intel Last Winter--Cover Blown
blueridge
by blueridge  12-19-2007
No surprise since Cheney was trying to "fix" the report by strong-arming the agencies for over a year, to delay or alter the report. In fact he did get included the fabrication that Iran had a nuke program but discontinued it in 2003. Liars have to work so hard to cover their tracks. What is amazing is the tolerance or stupidity of the American people and Congress for putting up with it. PERJURY is a high crime, especially to foment war.

Mullahs' Lies Verified by Intel Report
davboz
by davboz   12-11-2007    1
Aren't we exactly 0[where we were in 2004 on? It remains, as it was, that the intentions of the political-Islamist mullahs of Iran cannot be trusted to develop a nuclear program of ANY kind. It matters NOT whether there is known to be development related strictly to weapons. It seems to me that evidence of a direct path to weapons was a mystery then, as now, but that was not the #1 issue then, as it SHOULD NOT be now. The deal has been modulated away from the first hard line. That Iran can't be allowed to have free reign with uranium enrichment of any kind and it must cease. Whether or not there is a current active weapons specific program right now.

Russia Refutes NIE: Iran Never Had Nuke Program
blueridge
by blueridge  12-5-2007    5
Russia contradicts the National Intel Estimate, as they have continuously done, saying that Iran NEVER had a nuclear weapons program, which of course Cheney got inserted into the redacted and delayed NIE report. (This is a continuation on two previous posts on same subject that ties them together). Israel and the neoconservatives have always wanted to create a pretext for war on Iran, just like on Iraq. While Cheney said "there is no doubt Saddam possesses weapons of mass destruction...", we can safely assert, upon this and the previous, "There is no doubt that Cheney, Bush, and the neoconservatives lied about weapons of mass destruction intelligence", which was "fixed around the policy" to go to war based upon the Project for New American Century (PNAC) blueprint for a "new middle east" issued in Sept. 2000, prior to 9/11, hinged upon "a catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor". Perjury is a high crime, no misdemeanor. Impeachment is the minimum that should be p

U.S. Intel Contradicts Bush/Cheney Iran Propaganda
blueridge
by blueridge  12-3-2007    2
Iran is not a nuclear weapons threat. This is the same "intelligence estimate" that Cheney worked so hard "to fix" reported earlier, since it came from CIA and other agencies instead of neocon contractors or the Office of Special Plans. Yet Cheney managed to get this "redacted" as well, to state the Iran was pursuing weapons until 2003, and halted due to international (UN) pressure. Those statements were made to flatter UN authorities and reward them for following the neocon propaganda.

AIPAC Agents Charged With Spying -- Rice and Neocons Subpoenaed
blueridge
by blueridge  11-3-2007    2
Look at how the media covers this story below on "Rice Subpoenaed"". Journalism 101 says you headline the main subject, not the peripheral subjects. Let's cut through the double talk on this article that treats Israel, AIPAC and Jewish agents with kid gloves. Headline should read: "AIPAC Charged With Spying -- Rice and Neocons Subpoenaed". Now that would sell newspapers! Now the article goes on to say (listen to this), the lobbyist received information from a "now convicted Pentagon official and passed it on..." (why not name him?). That would be Larry Franklin, no? This article is designed to save AIPAC's arse from a Second round of public humiliation. Look at the special treatment of the "news" for AIPAC! You have to look so close to see the real story here. Notice that two major neocons--Armitage and Wolfowitz are not mentioned in headline either, just Rice. (AIPAC is certain that the neocons will lie for them).

Saudis' claim Brits/Yanks ignored warnings of terrorist attacks.
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  11-2-2007
 Humm...If you cut this statement down to the minimalist bone it says, as a bottom line, I believe: "We (the Saudis) knew about these upcoming terrorist attacks)" It also says the Brits were clearly warned and in some twisted words implies the USA, at the least, 'could have been,' warned. Further conclusions are hard to decipher, at this time apparently lost in twisted words with uncertain meanings, diplomatic hints rather than facts, opposing statements by British and USA spokespeople, the filtering of the media and maybe even language nuances. Having said all that, yea...this is the truth. The Arabs knew. Israel knew. The USA deliberately avoided knowing. This is the "real," conspiracy of 9/11 (and apparently the London train bombings) and all the other 'conspiracies,' are just fake distractions and deliberate exaggerations to avoid getting to this 'real,' conspiracy OF ALLOWING THE ATTACK TO HAPPEN. (Um...This was also true for Pearl Harbor; intel of attack ignored);
